5.0 Feb 4, 2025You could measure many of these projects impact in terms of reduced time to produce invoices, improved data quality and ability to report, etc., and they were no doubt a success along those metrics, but the biggest success criteria for most of these initiatives for us was binary, we went from "unable to effectively do X, unsure exactly how we would accomplish this" to "able to effectively and efficiently do X." I was very impressed with the results they were able to deliver for the cost, and their ability to scale and have expertise in all relevant areas despite their size. We would have had to spend many times what we spent with them to hire all this breadth of development capabilities and experience in house at a comparable quality. They developed many creative, custom solutions that we weren't fully aware were possible at the outset, and saved us countless hours with the many efficiency tools they built.

We made a couple bizarre requests, such as assisting us in hiring an in-house iOS team that would essentially replace his team. He immediately agreed, helping us through the process. The other request was for a 90-day insurance policy that ensured our ability to enlist the help of Grio after we ended our engagement. Once again, Doug had no problem complying.

We’ve definitely experienced some project friction with Aware, but it’s never been insurmountable, and more importantly, they approach setbacks with an opportunistic mindset. The barriers and challenges we’ve faced have actually helped both of our companies work more effectively together. At the end of the day, the best service providers are the ones that strive to form symbiotic relationships with their clients. In other words, they’ve the ones that go the extra mile to comprehend the problems and goals on terms set by the client, rather than terms set by themselves. I’m extremely confident in their technical expertise since I’ve yet to throw a challenge at their developers that they can’t handle.
