I’m the president of Fab Asia International, Inc., a wholesale apparel business. We work with different wholesalers and importers that carry their own brands. We produce their goods in Southeast Asia and then handle shipping. Our company is based in New York.
What challenge were you trying to address with M6iT?
I wanted to upgrade and migrate the company’s email system from our current provider. Our web domain was with GoDaddy, but a third-party was managing our email system. My inbox was filling up very quickly. Additionally, a lot of my emails weren’t being received by the intended parties, or they were going to junk.
The migration was also prompted by the pandemic; I needed to set up my staff to work remotely.
What was the scope of their involvement?
M6iT migrated our email to Office365. They bought equipment for our office and trained me on how to use Microsoft Teams.
What is the team composition?
I’ve worked with 3–4 people from M6iT, including the owner of the company, who was heavily involved.
How did you come to work with M6iT?
I was referred to them by my CPA, who’d hired them to switch over from the same email company I was using. He told me that M6iT was very accessible, and their services were great.
M6iT’s owner was kind enough to come to our office and see our setup and what our needs were. I had a big conference room table, so we were able to have a socially distanced meeting. He gave me a few options and didn’t push me into a sale. That was especially nice during these pandemic times, when everyone’s trying to get business to stay afloat.

The total so far is north of $5,000, but not exceeding $10,000, including the equipment I’m getting.
What is the status of this engagement?
I started working with M6iT in August 2020, and it’s ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The migration M6iT did for me and my colleagues was seamless. I previously used WhatsApp to schedule meetings. Now that I’m using Office365, I can set up meetings with multiple people without even having to send text messages. Microsoft Teams is much more efficient than having WhatsApp or Skype video calls. I can also set up international meetings through Teams.
I have more space in my inbox now, and I’m working more efficiently. Before, I continuously had to go into my inbox and delete all of my old emails.
How did M6iT perform from a project management standpoint?
Even since they completed the migration, their support team has been extremely responsive to any issues I have. I just submit a ticket, and they send an automatic ticket response confirming receipt. Then, someone gets on the phone with me. Working with them has been a seamless process.
Their service and response times have been very good for me. For instance, I’ve been traveling with my MacBook, and I reached out to them just yesterday to help me set up a desktop PC. We had a Teams meeting and spoke for about 30 minutes.
When they migrated everything, my contacts and calendars weren’t syncing. M6iT gave me a ticket number, and one of their support staff remotely connected to my computer and fixed the issue. I also had an issue that required one of their team members to come to my office. They arrived on time, and they did the job within the estimated time.
My business is also built on customer service, so when I see that from someone else, it goes to show that my time is important to them. That’s valuable to me.

Their service, speed of response, and competitive pricing set them apart. M6iT is competitively priced, and their service has been beyond exceptional.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I’m fairly new to them. I’ve only been a customer for approaching six months. I don’t see anything for them to improve right now, but I’m sure there will be something down the line.

M6iT responds very well when they know what the client’s needs are. I didn’t know what my needs were, so they shared some options with me. It’s also important to have a budget in mind.

We don’t have an IT team, so we hired them as a third-party IT consultant for our day-to-day operations.

They’re our managed service provider. The main scope of their work has involved WiFi and firewall setups for our new location. They set up these products to ensure our sales team can do business with our high net worth customers in a secure manner. We’ve also counted on them to network locations to ensure our residents have the ability to connect to WiFi seamlessly wherever they are in the building.

Whenever we have a need from our back-of-house office, we can always get ahold of their support team immediately. Even for non-urgent matters, they typically email us back within an hour. We’re never troubled by our IT needs during the workday. They’re a very productive team.

Our project involving making WiFI available to tenants was urgent, and they were able to meet us with a very quick turnaround time. Residents experienced less than a week of downtime in total. Jacob had his team on the problem almost immediately after we signed the proposal, which was a relief. We communicated through a ticketing system and email. When tickets are closed, they always reach out to let us know if there are outstanding issues. Their system is flawless.

M6iT has been a partner of ourselves, helping with our growth. We’ve steadily added employees to our team, becoming a full-enterprise. They’ve been a core partner in that growth.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We’ve worked with them on a couple of projects. The first would be moving from G-Suite over to Office365 for email communication. We also had to move our Slack communications over to Teams. We were able to leverage their skills in-house in Office365 to develop our VoIP integration, which is now one of our products.
Once we migrated into Office365, we created different OneDrive systems for all of our files. Once COVID-19 hit, we were able to migrate into Azure to assist with our employees working remotely. They continue providing us with support to manage and deploy Microsoft services.
Our engagement comes down to a lot of their team scoping out the work and then coming to us with a deliverable that’s ready to go.

A lot of our services wouldn’t be possible without their expertise. Being able to come in and see that everything was working was a big plus while working with them. When we have a challenge or need something done, those conversations with them are worth every penny.
At the end of the day, I’ve worked with a lot of different companies. M6iT wants to see businesses grow. They work in a way that reminds me of our in-house culture, which is completely hands-on and proactive. Over time, they’ve referred us, and we’ve referred them.
How did M6iT perform from a project management standpoint?
For us, it was great. We were pretty much ahead of schedule on everything. Even when I threw them a curveball to change the work scope, they were still able to deliver everything quickly. The team exceeded everything I hoped for.

The team at M6iT is big enough to get a complex project done. We had a lot of different documents, which was quite overloaded for us. Despite that, their side was able to get everything done correctly. That distinguishes them from others in the market. Businesses have to be large enough to handle any kind of project but still, have to be small enough to care.

I wish we could talk a little bit more about what else we can do, but I think that’s a result of how busy they’ve been. But in the future, I’d like to have that continued conversation with them. Some attention to that would be good.

Be open and transparent. A natural tendency that I see with my customers is hesitation. Don’t be unsure when working with them. If you’re not clear, somethings might come up. It will create a better scope of work and fewer surprises. Even though I love working with them, I did have a few reservations, ending up biting us. Be open about everything you think is relevant.

They’ve performed really well. M6iT is extremely transparent. I have a very personal relationship with Jacob, so I know I can always reach out to him if I have an issue, and he’ll divert it to the right people.

We work with them as our consultant to help keep our IT services running and save us the overhead of having someone in-house do it. They handle everything technology-related for our office.

They’ve helped us with two office moves. M6iT was very involved in disconnecting everything from the previous office and setting up everything in the new office — both in terms of physically plugging things in and evaluating systems. Their team assisted us in analyzing which systems were serving us well and we should continue using as well as which systems we’d outgrown or could find a better deal for.

We contact M6iT fairly frequently because we’ve undergone a lot of expansion in the last couple of years. There is a constant conversation about new projects and how we utilize our current systems to execute them. We discuss if we need to expand, get more machines, and how to onboard new hires. We can call Jacob and his team with basically anything, and they’ll help us figure it out.
How did M6iT perform from a project management standpoint?
Their biggest strength is that they’ve gotten to know our company well. We’re not a particularly tech-heavy company so it helps that Jacob knows us and our goals so we can come to him with layman’s terms and he’s able to translate it well. Every time I pick up the phone, I don’t have to explain it from square one.
They’re very reachable via text, phone, email, and cell. Jacob has made it clear that we can call or text his cell if there’s an emergency. I appreciate that they’re responsive and easy to get ahold of. Meeting deadlines has never been a problem.
What did you find most impressive about them?
It’s their level of individual service and personalization to our company. It doesn’t feel like they have a mold they’re trying to force us into. In fact, it’s clear they’re working with what’s best for our company, office, and individual employees.
There have been several times when we’ve asked for a recommendation and Jacob shares what he thinks would be best for us individually — not what the majority of people are doing. He puts the time and energy to recommend what’s best for us specifically.
Are there any areas they could improve?
There have been occasional moments when it has felt as if they’re trying to upsell us a little bit. In those cases, their team has always been receptive to us expressing we don’t want to buy a new computer or system. The advantage of having as long of a partnership as we’ve had is that we’re comfortable to say no, and they listen.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Take the time up front to make sure they understand your business because they thrive with small businesses. The thing that has been most beneficial to us is taking time to educate them on what we do beyond IT because it pays off when we’re in the middle of a big project or deadline and something crashes; you don’t want to have to explain what you’re doing from ground one. It really helps to have that common language with them.
With their team outperforming the client's previous managed IT services partner, M6iT has done a very good job up to this point in the engagement. Strong project management has been a hallmark of the engagement, with all deadlines being met so far.
