4.5 May 27, 2016For the current project, I've worked with two separate project managers who were very easy to work with and happy to tell me if they disagreed with something. DevCom would presume that I wanted legs, most likely four of them. They push back consistently and politely when they feel that the requirements are lacking. Because we develop using an agile methodology, documentation is sparse. This means that a project can only possibly work if the people at the other end know what they are talking about, make note of the things that will not work and find solutions.

I wouldn't call them quarterly business reviews, but, throughout the year, they identify open projects and ask how our network is and how they themselves are performing? Sometimes it’s a focus that we've had or that we've talked about internally but haven't shared with them yet, so we start to create timelines and budgets. Then, we can either escalate it or put it on the back burner. They're pretty responsive.

Still, they're accommodating my size with the hope on both sides that, as I grow, I'll ultimately consume more of their services. I really appreciate that Innowise has given me access to a senior engineer, providing ample flexibility on how much I use them each month. This is invaluable to me because I can't afford to hire a full-time engineer. Therefore, having a partner who works with me like this is instrumental, but having a large company like them do so is unusual.

Still, they're accommodating my size with the hope on both sides that, as I grow, I'll ultimately consume more of their services. I really appreciate that Innowise has given me access to a senior engineer, providing ample flexibility on how much I use them each month. This is invaluable to me because I can't afford to hire a full-time engineer. Therefore, having a partner who works with me like this is instrumental, but having a large company like them do so is unusual.

The project manager, Inna, went out of her way to help and even assisted with some tool configuration outside of the QA work simply because she had some experience in the area and knew we were struggling with some questions. And it should be noted that our engagement started shortly before the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The team could come out of bomb shelters in the morning and join our calls. I don't think they missed a single call or deliverable despite the insane situation they were in.
