As the collaboration is about team augmentation at several teams, working on several projects each, it's not about measuring the outcome of any single/specific projects, but about the quality of the individuals that they brought in, how well they integrate into the teams and the level of bi-lateral support that Dreamix puts in place across teams and roles. Looking at any possible qualitative or quantitative measurement, Dreamix has exceeded expectations, going above and beyond to make everything work efficiently and effortlessly. The cultural fit is probably what pleasantly surprises us the greatest.

As we are collaborating through a Product Operating Model, classic "Project Management" does not apply. Dreamix experts become fully integrated into their respective teams and all work management is done per team via agile practices - and they surely both understand and fully participate in making everything run as smoothly as possible. They are also proactive, when needed, to suggest improvements in task management and technical oversight, which is a very welcome plus.

The cultural fit, both within teams but also at management-level.

How they proactively share knowledge, support each others and onboard new members across teams and products - which severly decreases overhead internally and makes everything so effortless. Things that I'm used to handling in this kind of collaboration are handled by Dreamix, without the need to ask them for it, which is every managers dream.

The primary motivation of the engagement was to utilize Dreamix Data Science and Data Engineering expertise. The main deliverable was to create a production grade machine learning model for construction project financial forecasting. The scope of work focused on aquiring historical financial data, cleaning and exporing this data for preparation and development of machine learning models. Technology utilized was Github, Databricks, Power BI, Claude, ChatGPT.

Dreamix provided weekly and bi-weekly progress updates that checked back to our sprint planning and milestones that were developed together. Overall for the financial machine learning model, the core metrics were MAPE, MAE, and other statistical KPIs focused on statistical analysis.

Dreamix did a very nice job developing an overall framework to the project. The team worked in Github using the built in project management solutions, which worked nicely with how Barton Malow works.

Dreamix was very responsive and adaptive to our needs. They were able to pivot and adapt the scope of the project to tailor it to our data, which was critical to the project success.

What business challenge were you trying to address with Dreamix? 

The modernization of “Roles,” a role-based access control application used for the roles and access rights of CERN’s administration and all kinds of business-supporting IT applications.

What was the scope of their involvement?
Our project involves a comprehensive upgrade of our existing role-based access control system, currently built using Oracle APEX and PL/SQL. The objective is to transition to a more modern system with revamped architecture based on React and Java technologies. In the initial phase, we replaced the APEX user interface with a simple Spring + REST backend. It was a strategic decision to address the user interface component first, ensuring a smoother transition.

While doing this, we retained a substantial portion of the core logic in PL/SQL, allowing us to prioritize UI enhancements and maintain the system's functionality. In the second phase, we are focusing on the migration of the remaining logic from PL/SQL to Java.

This stage includes the transfer of critical business logic and the introduction of new features to enhance the system's capabilities. This approach allows us to have a seamless transition for users while improving and modernizing our system.

Of course, we are trying to scale up our team size. In the beginning we had to find a 'not too pushy way' to interact with the client and to adapt some processes related to the project organization. Every client has different needs, ways of communications and ideas of collaboration, so its always good to adapt fast and client-oriented. For IT nearshoring, the rates are at the upper end, which is quite reasonable due to the delivered quality and professionalism.
