What was the scope of their involvement?
Lumitech was responsible for our web application UI/UX, front- and backend development, and general graphic design. Lumitech created a Figma wireframe layout, the color scheme, fonts, and typography. The team used React for development.
What is the team composition?
We initially worked with a key account manager, who was then substituted by another project manager. We also worked with a frontend developer, a backend developer, and a Figma designer.
How did you come to work with Lumitech?
We initially searched for service providers on Toptal and Upwork and made a selection of companies that we wanted to work with. We searched for more information about those companies on Google, and after researching and looking at the references on Lumitech's website, we approached them. How much have you invested with them?
We spent around $18,000โ$22,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with Lumitech in January 2024, and the team completed the web app at the beginning of July 2024. The team has finished the project and offers post-launch feedback and support to fix bugs.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We haven't launched our platform yet and don't have KPIs to measure. However, Lumitech offered an excellent price for this development project based on the different business proposals we received. We were very satisfied with the product, and all the pre-launch testing phases went well. Lumitech corrected all of the bugs we encountered, and although we don't have performance metrics yet, we received what we expected from the project.
How did Lumitech perform from a project management standpoint?
Lumitech was surprisingly structured and had tools that ensured they never forgot anything. The team gave us daily work updates and kept a vigorous structure. Lumitech's project management was great, and we always had a teammate to reach out to. We communicated through Slack and weekly Google Meet calls. We still communicate through our Slack channel for maintenance.
We communicated so well with Lumitech's developers that I don't think the project manager was essential. However, it was nice to have that point of contact who brought the team together and had the best knowledge of English. Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?
We mostly worked with Lumitech's frontend designer. Although he doesn't work with Lumitech anymore, we appreciated his work because he was timely, reachable, and understood our platform well. Lumitech's backend developer and Figma designer also had a good understanding of our platform and took the time to understand our mission.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I was mostly impressed with Lumitech's professional project management structure. The team worked great to get an in-depth understanding of what we wanted, which was great for a startup. Other companies can trust them by creating their initial platform, website, or anything related to their corporate identity. Lumitech ensured they were getting our identity correctly.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Some of our feedback got lost in translation, and certain things about our platform weren't fixed immediately because the teams' knowledge of English wasn't perfect. However, we were aware Lumitech's teammates weren't native English speakers since we decided to engage with them.
Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?
I suggest giving Lumitech all the information you have and an exact rundown of how you want your product. The team is excellent at trying to understand your requirements and will do their best, but it's better if the client provides them with all the necessary information.
