Bizness Apps platform was an easy-to-use platform that also offers outstanding customer support. It has a great variety of app features to build a complete app design. The apps perform great, and we have not experienced any downtime since we started with Bizness Apps 4 years ago.

Pros

A person without programming knowledge can easily build an app with the Bizness Apps Platform. It is very easy, and the process is simple to use. Most important after the functionality of the platform is their support. With Bizness Apps, it's flawless. Typically, if I send in a ticket, I will get a response in less than 24 hours. The average time is only 2 hours, and they offer support irrespective of the user's location.

Cons

There are no in-app purchasing features. With billions being spent on in-app purchases this platform should consider this integration​.

I've even worked with a nonprofit organization. The plug-and-play nature of the platform, and Bizness Apps' customer support, can make it work for any business. We have designed an app for a transportation and destination service provider, which has increased their market presence and revenue substantially.

Experience

I chose it based not only on cost but because Bizness Apps offered phenomenal value. Compared to the cost of training, security, and other components associated with building a platform, I concluded that I was getting more bang for my buck. Pros

I appreciate the ease of using push notifications. Clients can create their own marketing campaigns without having a coding background, but still retaining robust features.

Cons

Bizness Apps' design team could work more on the initial builds of features, allowing us to focus more on marketing. To a certain degree, costs can be prohibitive for small businesses. Different types of marketing components that go into the app also need to be considered.

I was in another industry and our relationship with Bizness Apps got us into this industry.  From my standpoint, I didn't want to go out and be known as the website sales guy because there's about 10,000 of those in every town. You're competing with the do-it-yourselfer and the high school kid. Mobile apps put us in rarified air where we could walk through the door of local businesses and talk about how we were there to put an app together for their business. 

SOLUTION

How does your company implement this platform or software?

Bizness Apps is the core of our offering. The product that they have really has made them unparalleled in the marketplace. For me, getting into the industry not knowing anything, I wanted to make sure I had an industry leader so I could sleep at night. Partnering with them means if there's some big problem, it's a big problem that 100,000 app customers have. It's a problem that's going to be remedied quickly. 

Was your company considering other platforms? Why this platform?

I looked at everything that I could find. That's one of the reasons that the entire industry of small business mobile apps is such a mystery because you have to be searching for the right thing. If you're looking for a car and based on the descriptive words that you put in the search tool, what you get back is a Ferrari or a flying car from "The Jetsons." You can't afford either one of those, and then your search is over. For small businesses when they do a search and don't put the right search term in, they're not going to get Bizness Apps. They're going to get the business that made the app for Starbucks or Chase Bank or American Airlines. Those businesses spent $50,000 to $500,000 on their apps. With Bizness Apps, I did the research to try and find a reseller program and, at the time – two and a half years ago – I couldn't find anything that was even close. Bizness Apps would have been my first choice, my second, my third, and my fourth. My needs have been met. Any challenges that we've had have been dealt with in a fair and equitable way. There's no reason for me to go anywhere looking for the next big thing.

On an annual or monthly basis, how much does your company spend to utilize the platform?

We spend more than anyone else does because we're at the top of what we can do with them. When we first started, we were a traditional reseller and we were paying $300 a month, which is $3,600 a year. Then, we ascended to a position with Bizness Apps as an enterprise reseller. We now spend $1,000 a month – $12,000 a year, which is pretty much nothing to be in business.

RESULTS

Can you share any success, metrics, or overall results of your implementation of this platform?

One of the issues that we had when we got into this business was that we didn't know anybody else that was in this business. I didn't even have a smartphone. We were building a business in the fog. I remember when we hit 10 apps, we were so frustrated with our progress and our growth. Then, looked up one day here recently and realized we've sold more than 100 apps. We did so without fanfare not even realizing it had happened. The wonderful thing about Bizness Apps is they have such a library of training videos and articles on subject matter and so many different tools that they provided for us when we first got started. Bizness Apps gave us the tools so that we could digest them, then take that and use it to build a business. 

FEATURES

Were there any software features or tools by which you were really impressed?

I would say that the fact that I can actually build an app from start to finish to publishing in about three hours. I think that's pretty amazing because I'm not a programmer. I'm not a designer. I'm not a developer. I'm a sales guy. If I, a sales guy, can do it, then I think that's fantastic. It's the most complete program on the market. There is no one close. They are the worldwide leader. 

Looking back, are there any areas of the software upon which you feel could be added or improved?

If there's one shortcoming since the day I started, it would've been a weakness in the sales and marketing ground-level training. One of the things I explain to my customers is that in this industry what you're buying more than anything is you're buying technology and the one truth about technology is it never stands still. It continues to evolve. There's no way to stop it. 

Have you had to interact with the platform's support team or reference their support resources?

The support department is available by several different means. You can call them. You can email them. When you call them, you can leave a message. Bizness Apps's support department – I can't say enough. The people are fantastic. They've got good attitudes. They are patient. I couldn't imagine being on the other end of the phone talking to idiots like me who don't know anything, and they have to tell things to three times for us to get it. But, they're there and they do it. I utilize the support network that they have. The support tools that they provide us are great. Some people are readers, so they have articles that are updated on a continual basis. Some people want to watch or listen, and they have a duplication of information in videos and webinars, so those are fantastic.

We develop apps for a lot of different types of companies, and currently we’re doing a lot of work with resource apps and apps for military purposes. Additionally, we help people get started with their initial app needs, and then sometimes that sprouts into something more customized that may require spring boarding off of the Bizness App platform or providing our client something more customized.

Was your company considering other platforms? Why this platform?

This was a few years ago when I looked at a few companies and they were all relatively the same, except Bizness Apps, which was just a little easier to use, and they had some pretty nice starter tutorials to make it even easier to get up and running a little faster. It’s actually worked out well because they’ve prospered and are growing, and have made constant improvements to their system. Like any new company, when we began partnering with Bizness Apps a few years ago, we were wondering if they were going to be around for long, and because we were building our business off of their platform, we wanted to make sure that they stayed in business. It’s worked out really well because they’ve gotten stronger and better and have made a lot of improvements to the system over the years.

RESULTS

Can you share any success, metrics, or overall results of your implementation of this platform?

Probably our most successful app is an app we developed for the Chaplain at the Base of Charleston. They’ve had close to maybe 30,000 - 40,000 downloads and it’s used by airmen and seamen all over the world. It’s a massive resource app and it worked out really well. Bizness Apps has allowed us to put a lot of content into a given space and it has a more appealing design and doesn’t look like a big encyclopedia. For that particular client, that was a perfect fit.

FEATURES

Were there any software features/tools that you were really impressed by?

I think one of the most useful features right now is the share mechanism which helps accelerates downloads. The push notifications have been enhanced to be able to push out to social media which is great. The content pages for the more static pages have improved. With the new design with the Cherry release, we can now offer people that are not as familiar with apps an older design layout that may be a little more intuitive for a less technology-sophisticated user. Bizness Apps was smart to keep the old design around for less technology-sophisticated users, and have the new design available for people that want something that’s very contemporary.

Looking back, are there any areas of the software that you feel could be added or improved upon?

I think one thing that would be helpful is in the icons selection: they have a traditional and a contemporary icon library and you have the ability to import your own icons too. But it would be nice if they expanded the number of icons in the current libraries so that the design is consistent. We’ve imported icons and it’s OK, but they’re not as seamless in the look.

What challenge were you trying to address with Bizness Apps?

After looking into the Bizness Apps platform, we decided to give it a try in order to add mobile apps to our offering.

We've been a Bizness Apps reseller since 2013. Over the course of these 3 years, they've worked hard on improving the platform and making resellers more successful. Many companies have white-label programs, but they don't care one way or the other about their clients. Bizness Apps' CEO [chief executive officer] has taken a very active role in updating the platform and making sure that we're getting training and various materials which can help us with our own clients.

Solution

What is the ideal business use for Bizness Apps? What sort of project might not be a good fit?

Bizness Apps is ideal for the average small business owner. If not enough effort is put into building an app, the result will be less than great. It's also necessary to have developer accounts with Google and Apple and upload the apps on their own. Most people won't know how to do this, and won't have the time to do it. In the end, they spend more money and time doing it themselves, than they would have if they paid someone to do it correctly.

There are other app-building companies which offer free apps initially, but after getting to a certain level, they demand payment for any kind of actual functionality. I've heard this from a couple of clients who learned the hard way. Business owners should do what they do best, and allow people like ourselves to handle apps on their behalf.

How did you come to choose Bizness Apps?

I have looked at other platforms but didn't find them to be as easy to learn and use as Bizness Apps. Their CEO won the Entrepreneurial Contest of CSU, Chico, which happens to be the college that my son attends. This built a bit of trust with me, showing that Bizness Apps is making an effort to move up the ranks. Other companies also gave me the impression that I would be nickel-and-dimed along the way. Bizness Apps was always transparent with cost, and also provided an excellent level of support. We receive email responses even on weekends, so I know that I have Bizness Apps' support if any client experiences an issue.

What cost factors should be considered when using Bizness Apps?

I charge clients a fixed price for the entire setup and design, including the app's graphics and the deployment to the app stores. We charge a monthly service for maintaining the app.

We have 20-30 clients using Bizness Apps, spending between $50 and $250 per month, on average.

Bizness Apps has unlimited push notifications, which is great for restaurants. We can charge a flat monthly fee, compared to companies like GrubHub, which charge 10-15% of tickets' values. They can create exposure, but those fees amount to a lot of money after a while.

I pay Bizness Apps a monthly fee for app credits. This isn't something that we pass on to clients, given that we make our money through setup and maintenance services.

Results

Could you share any statistics or metrics from your use of Bizness Apps?

We have a DJ client who had success with his app. His audience can listen to his music on their phones, which used to be a big issue. We can setup the app geographically, allowing him to get more downloads from his own region, in the Czech Republic.

We have another client who promotes himself as the new Hugh Hefner. He posts videos and push notifications in order to interact with his audience. It's something he's really enjoyed.

We are also working with a couple of barbers who can schedule appointments through the app. The little things available within Bizness Apps enable giving customers more flexibility and convenience.

What did you find most impressive about Bizness Apps?

The in-app food ordering is very good, rivaling Eat24 and GrubHub. I personally like to order food through the phone, pay for it, and simply pick it up. Basic features like geofencing are also good. It helps show businesses how to effectively draw people in.

A client going to a sports bar will stop ordering at some point, after watching the game and hanging out with their friends. We can use Bizness Apps to serve push notifications on certain immediate offers at that bar. This helps businesses be truly interactive with customers in their establishment.

Are there any areas Bizness Apps could improve?

The reservation system is good, but it could use some more improvement. We are also hoping to update the loyalty program, giving it some more flexibility. It's rare for me to experience any customer service issues with Bizness Apps, and the minuses are minimal overall. Bizness Apps listens to customer feedback and has implemented reseller suggestions. There is even a Facebook page for this purpose, notifying us about upcoming improvements and posting training material.

Have you had interactions with any of their support team or support resources?

Bizness Apps' team is available to respond over the weekend and during holidays. There is also a live chat feature. I find that Bizness Apps has done everything possible in order to ensure that we can get in touch with them and find support and answers.

We picked the Bizness Apps platform because it had the most functionality out of the other application builders out there. We needed to be able to communicate efficiently to our customers and with employees in my company.

The membership feature that allows only certain clients or employees to log in is probably our favorite feature. It keeps the app secure. Also, we have a nice integration with our customer relationship management platform to keep our employees up to date on deals they have in their pipeline. So far, it has performed great for the cost. Creating a custom app was quoted at around $15,000 for us. With Bizness Apps, it was just $59 per month.

I would recommend Bizness Apps to any business large or small that is looking to communicate better with their employees or clients. It is also a great way to create an app without having to spend tens of thousands of dollars.

Pros

The Bizness Apps platform is easy to use and they offer great customer service. They are always pushing out new feature updates. Also, the native app is not HTML5 or a web app, which means the quality is high. They also have fast loading times and an easy-to-use interface.

Cons

Bizness Apps could improve upon upload time to the app stores. Uploading to Apple takes about a week. Also, creating the app did take some work, but this is mostly because of the robust functionality we wanted within the app.

Bizness Apps is prompt and helpful with their support – as shown by a recent award that they won, I believe – and there is much help and support available in the form of videos and articles within the back-end.

For the price, it is a simple solution. The only thing that I would recommend is that someone considering using Bizness Apps is being able to cover the cost of the license with their first few apps. After that, everything is profit and no more expense is needed. 

Someone considering this option will definitely need some Photoshop or  Canva  experience as you will need to be able to make assets for the app, to very specific sizes and dimensions and to  certain  resolution.

 

Pros

I like the simplicity of Bizness Apps. It is an intuitive and simple tool. Allowing you to make mobile apps in a relatively short amount of time. It is efficient and clear. The support is very good and usually there is only a short time gap between answering a question and receiving an answer. They are helpful and willing to point you the right direction whatever the questions might be. 

You don't need to be a programmer or know anything about code. It is a "drag-and-drop" solution, which makes it very easy for the client to operate their app as well. 

It's cost-effective and, for anyone considering a career in the creation of mobile apps, I would recommend it.

Cons

My only negative is that there are, sometimes, there are things that customers want that the platform cannot do, however, there are upgrades regularly and new options arriving.

Is there anything Bizness Apps could have improved or done differently?

I don't know if this is completely on Bizness Apps' side, but I'd like to have faster publishing time when submitting apps to the Apple Store. They're a bit stricter in terms of what content can be put inside an app. Google is a more straightforward process, though.

The support has been great. Typically, if I send in a ticket, I will get a response in less than 24 hours. The average time is only 2 hours. Anything more technical, requiring additional research, will take around a day.

Can you please provide a brief description of your company and the role that you play there?

Our company is Epowercom, we are primarily involved in the marketing and adverting solutions. We also have a small department dealing with online solutions. My role is managing partner. I oversee most strategic planning for our clients and the other specifics for their online solutions.

What was the business challenge your company was facing that incited the need for Bizness Apps?

We have limited in-house app development capabilities. We needed to provide our clients with an all-in-one solid and reliable digital solution. We wanted this solution to involve a mobile application, and for that portion we use Bizness Apps. One client that we delivered a mobile application for was Kcateries, which is a healthy food delivery and catering company.

SOLUTION

How does your company implement Bizness Apps?

In order to become a reseller, a short training was required. We have been able to implement Bizness Apps with ease. Everything is cloud based, and we couldn't find Bizness Apps easier to use.

Was your company considering other platforms? Why Bizness Apps?

Yes. We were considering other app builders. They did not meet our expectations. Bizness Apps was a total solution for our client's services in one location.

On an annual or monthly basis, how much does your company spend to utilize the platform?

For the single client, in dollars it's about $60 per month. For time, one of our staff spends an average of one hour each week to update our client's app content.

RESULTS

Can you share any success, metrics, or overall results of your implementation of Bizness Apps?

After a short promotional period, we have more than 300 regular users who use our client, Kcatering's mobile app to place weekly orders.

FEATURES

Were there any software features or tools by which really impressed you?

We were impressed by the ability to update all of the content and media with Bizness Apps instantly. We also really liked the dynamic and animated backgrounds, layers, and sliders. The backgrounds impressed most users and kept them coming back. For our client, the QR [quick response] code and loyalty coupons have been successful. We also like the ability to take a snapshot, the fan tab, and the push notifications.

Looking back, are there any areas of Bizness Apps upon which  you feel could be added or improved?

We've requested a couple of things that we think Bizness Apps should consider. We would really like to have some type of rating and review system for users to rate our client's menu content even if they were preset options. This would allow our client to list their goods and services by ratings and reviews.

Yes. We've interacted with the Bizness Apps's team several times. We see them as an excellent support team.

I would recommend giving it a try. Although that encourages competition for us, we are not worried as there is plenty to go around. The more apps out there, the better it is for all of us. Four years ago, we had to beg people to try apps; now they are more aware.

Cons

For the most part, Bizness Apps has been flawless. In this fast moving industry, it may be hard to keep up, but they are always ahead of the curve. I don't have much to complain about. Honestly, we owe them a lot.
