The project included the preparation of a new graphic version with a properly prepared UX and UI. Moreover, we wanted to efficiently migrate the old offer to the new system, and to ensure its full stability. Moreover, the implementation also included the implementation of all the necessary tools (including, for example, external internet payment services).

On the side of the mobitouch team, our project involved a UX / UI designer, frontend developer, PHP backend developer and project manager.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Just a few weeks after the implementation of the new system, we noticed much better statistics in relation to visits to the website and new users. In addition, the conversion rate increased significantly - customers made purchases much more often than in the case of the previous page. In addition, processes that were previously very time-consuming and required the involvement of employees who can now spend their working time on other tasks have been automated.

During the cooperation, we could always count on the professional help of mobitouch specialists. Despite the distance and time difference between us, we never had problems with contact. The meetings arranged by the project manager were always very punctual and carried out efficiently and to the point. During the meetings, we asked a lot of questions that always found their answers.

The mobitouch specialists were always happy to share their advice based on experience. We knew our business was in really good hands. We took a lot of advice, and we notice today that it was really accurate. In addition, the mobitouch team are really great and open-minded people who are just great to work with.

The mobitouch team consisted of a UX designer, Android programmer, iOS programmer, PHP programmer and front-end programmer. The project manager supervised all activities. Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success? The mobitouch team introduced new, unique features to the application, which made the application more attractive to customers. Among others: Profile - Contact business partners, check comments, exchange messages and contacts, make an appointment or call. Calendar - The built-in calendar can be used to schedule all meetings and mark events. Groups - Participation in groups is an opportunity to participate in a community centred around a selected topic, exchange news and information about events. Events - Quick access to information on each speech, speaker and event location.

They also implemented a QR code scanner and push notifications feature.

Communication and tools provided by mobitouch which allows to run a project in the right way was on a very high level, time of respond and reaction to our notifications was always on time and clearly presented. All of those things allow us to feel comfortable on every stage of the developing a project.

In addition, the project we wanted to implement required the employment of experts in the field of IoT, so the competence of the mobitouch team was crucial for me in this respect.

The mobitouch team has provided us with a modern and functional mobile application that is part of the IoT system for carers of the disabled. The solution enables remote control of the rehabilitation bed and preview of the current monitoring device indications.

Thanks to the possibility of contact via text and voice messages, as well as video calls, patients gain a direct and reliable communication channel with the carer, which allows for quick response in crisis situations.

On the technical side, the mobitouch team was responsible for the native iOS / Android code, integration with medical devices, remote API cooperation with, push notifications as well as support and security of the application.

The mobitouch team consisted of a UX designer, Android programmer, iOS programmer, PHP programmer and front-end programmer. The project manager supervised all activities.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The application prepared by mobitouch is great in real conditions. Carers of the disabled have received a functional and very convenient tool, thanks to which the comfort of the disabled has also been improved.

The app receives excellent feedback from people who use this solution and we already have further extensions and additional functions planned. The application works perfectly with other devices within the IOT infrastructure and is very stable.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Cooperation with mobitouch went very smoothly. Communication with the team was open and very smooth. Specialists from mobitouch explained to us the whole process of creating applications and how the individual stages will be carried out. We were in constant contact with the project manager, and programmers also participated in the communication if necessary.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Throughout the cooperation, we were convinced that the team really cares about the application is a real improvement for disabled people and their carers. This impressed us very much. However, this was not one thing that impressed us.

First of all, it is worth emphasizing that mobitouch has specialists who really know what they are doing and know the latest technologies, and most importantly - they can talk about them in such a way that they are understandable even to people who are not very technical. We have learned a lot thanks to this cooperation.

We are developing an application for guided meditation for people who are practicing yoga or want to generally have a healthy lifestyle. We also organize workshops teaching breathing techniques, meditation, and yoga exercises.

What challenge were you trying to address with mobitouch?

We were building one of the tools for our business.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

mobitouch developed our solution based on our idea and roadmap. We supplied them information on our target group and content, and, in general, on how we wanted the app to look, without actually supplying and graphics guidance. mobitouch prepared a few graphic designs which we could approve and modify. Based on this, they prepared a demo version of our main app and the landing page which provides a short description of the application, along with links to the Apple Store and Google Play. We made a number of changes to the demo version and iterated to a final one.

mobitouch supplied a lot of ideas throughout the process, implementing track records of the subscribers’ meditation practices, calendars and so on. We also implemented an alarm clock featuring voice narration intended to wake up users in a pleasant way. There were also implementations made to allow us to change content within the app. I specifically wanted the option to download a spreadsheet containing all our subscriber information and be able to filter and sort the data by premium and ordinary members, along with subscription dates.

How did you come to work with mobitouch?

I researched around 10 companies through Google and sent them RFPs. Around 6 of them replied, and I compared their price offers and references. I met with 3 companies, out of which mobitouch seemed to be the most responsive. They also had a young team, which indicated that they’d have a good understanding of our project, and would be flexible around and open to our ideas. Their price was somewhere in the middle, relative to the other offers.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with mobitouch at the beginning of 2016. The project ended in the beginning of 2017. We had some breaks caused by our side.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

We don’t have any metrics yet. The application is still new, and we haven’t invested in its promotion. We have some subscribers, but I wouldn’t call it successful. Users have said that the application is easy to navigate and use. Most of the comments were focused on the content, rather than the app itself.

How did mobitouch perform from a project management standpoint?

We had a single contact from mobitouch’s side, our account manager. I know that there were other people involved, including lawyers who drafted our privacy policy and other legal items. I also met the graphic designers and other resources during meetings.

Depending on the phase of the project, we would communicate more or less frequently. In the beginning, we had meetings once every 1-2 weeks, but we also exchanged emails and talked on Skype and phone.   

mobitouch was professional and responsive. I could call them at any time, and the team was patient with the changes we made on the preliminary brief. They charged us more only when we added new features. The project took more time than we expected to complete, but we were not in a hurry.

What did you find most impressive about mobitouch?

They were creative, and I could see that mobitouch had worked on a number of applications. Their comments were useful and specific to our product.

Are there any areas mobitouch could improve?

When the project ended, mobitouch became less responsive than they were earlier.

What tips or recommendations could you share that might increase the likelihood of success with mobitouch?

In general, I would recommend that anyone looking to start such a project should have well-prepared and detailed briefs so that there’s less of a need to change things afterward.

I am the CEO of iWisher, a gift-funding app. Our application lets users who want to receive specific gifts for their birthdays or other occasions to create an iWish, which can be shared with friends and family. Users enter a bank account number and have their friends chip in for that gift. The app includes an internal product catalog, but external web pages can also be used. iWisher offers the lowest possible prices. The app also allows users to withdraw the money and buy the item from physical stores.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with mobitouch?

We don’t have mobile developers, so we started looking for a partner who could collaborate with our own backend team.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

mobitouch developed iOS and Android apps based on our web application. We built the web application in-house. After we set up initial specifications for the app’s functionalities, an in-house UX [user experience] designer created mock-ups of the app’s crucial screens. We set low and high prices for specific functionalities on each platform and had an agreement with mobitouch based on those figures.

After everything was settled, mobitouch started the development process based on our designs and existing code. mobitouch also gave suggestions for user flows. I believe that the iOS version was started first. Many of the mobile features require communication with our backend system.

They also helped with the publishing processes and the technical issues around them. mobitouch offered me marketing support after the launch, but I chose to do this myself. I think that I would’ve had more success had they helped me with this process.

I acted as project manager. We also involved our internal development team and UX designer. I worked with 3 people from their side during the sales process. For development, we had 1 account manager as a contact point, as well as 1–2 iOS developers and 1 Android resource. Since mobitouch was a growing company, I asked them how many developers they had on board when we started working together. In 2016, they had a 15-person team, but I don’t know how many are on board currently.

How did you come to work with mobitouch?

We performed market research and talked to 4–5 mobile development companies. We gathered client references for the 3 that answered our proposal.  I met mobitouch’s team at a conference 6–7 months before I started the mobile development project, and I gave them a brief.

I based my decision on several parameters, including price and the impressions given by previous customers. While mobitouch wasn’t the cheapest company, they had the best price-to-quality ratio. One of the other companies I looked at was cheaper, but I had trouble finding good referrals. Another vendor was charging higher prices compared to mobitouch.

The communication during the proposal stage was very good, spanning several phone calls. Ultimately, we chose mobitouch.

How much have you invested with mobitouch?

The cost of their work was around 13,000 zloty per application, which is around $7,000–$8,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with mobitouch in December 2015. After the initial consultation process, development started in January 2016. The project duration was 7–8 weeks for iOS, and 6–7 weeks for the initial API phase of the Android application. The whole process took 3 months, from starting the development to the publication on the app stores on April 1, 2016.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

We’ve received some good reviews for the mobile app, but the project as a whole hasn’t been very successful. However, the work on mobitouch’s side was done well. I would recommend them to companies looking for quality mobile development.

How did mobitouch perform from a project management standpoint?

We had 2-week development sprints. During the testing and development process, we emailed each other almost every day for project management issues. We used Redmine as a task-management system, where developers communicated daily. We also used Skype and email. During the project, I was kept informed about every issue.

Everything was made clear at every stage of the project. They followed our specifications. While there were some unexpected cases, working with mobitouch was a good experience.

When I recommended mobitouch to several friends, I was told that their pricing went much higher after our collaboration. The quality has also gone much higher. mobitouch is working with larger brands today.

What did you find most impressive about mobitouch?

Their communication process made me feel safe, which was important when working with remote partners. We only met mobitouch’s team face-to-face after the project ended, when they came to thank us for the collaboration.

I know that mobitouch is making an effort to go global. They are a relatively young company, around 4–5 years old, but the processes they’ve developed are of high quality. I recommend them to companies looking for remote partners in the mobile area.
