Empat was engaged in the app's product management,

so it played a major role in shaping of our product. They

created the app itself using Swift because at this stage

we are most interested in promoting the app for iOS. 

Empat also developed the backend of the app to ensure

the proper functioning of the app infrastructure as a

whole. We also engaged them in web development, but

we'll talk later about that one.

Currently, an application has a 5/5 rating on the App Store and we are most proud of it.

Empat was hired to complete the development, testing, and launch of Spilt on both iOS and Android platforms. They were tasked to convert provided UX/UI Designs into code/a working app. The developed the server-side of the mobile application including designing/implementing APIs, creating and managing databases, and ensuring scalability and security.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Received updates almost daily on what specific functions/pages they were developing. It was easy to track the timeline of the project and they were very communicative with any problems encountered and corresponding solutions being implemented. They involved me with every decision big or small. The app came out on time and exactly as discussed since there were frequent updates and collaborative conversations about the end goal.

They were extremely communicative, responsive, and professional. I could not recommend them enough. We met at the beginning of each week to discuss what was being worked on that week and address any obstacles/decisions. After each meeting, they provided a summary with notes and a recording of what was discussed. Additionally, at the end of each week, they provided a detailed summary of what had been completed, issues they encountered, and solutions implemented. Aside from the weekly meetings, we communicated daily through Slack and they were always available to meet virtually as necessary for more detailed conversations.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They really went above and beyond in helping me ideate the best version of my MVP. This was my first venture into creating an app, and they provided their experience and expertise through all stages of development. They offered advice while still supporting my decisions and ideas. They were very encouraging and really cared about the success of our project. They were constantly asking about how they could help and showed genuine interest in making sure we created the best version of the app.

None - they were wonderful. I had a great experience with them and will continue to use them as Spilt continues to grow!

We came to Empat with a product discovery stage completed with a different vendor. After multiple user interviews we realized that our UX and UI were to complicated for users to understand. The goal for Empat was simple:
1. Redesign the UI/UX based on user feedback
2. Include the changes that we provided for the product pivot
3. Suggest alternatives for the pre-defined tech stack

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Empat team successfully conducted a round of user interviews (searched for them, reached out to them and used their feedback) with 10 users. 

The product design went through a complete overhaul that was later validated with the users. 

The tech stack went through a couple of iterations and serveral adjustments were made that allowed us to save approx 20% of the MVP budget estimate

We had a PM and a tech-lead assigned as key points of contact. We had a chance to also work with the design lead and overall the communication was extremely smooth

The team understood the importance of the project, was able to analyze the existing structure and adjusted to ensure smooth results. I know from experience that many companies prefer to "do things from scratch" but I am grateful to Empat team for the extra effort in understanding our project status and goals.

In my experience the overall cooperation went extremely smooth. Naturally we had a few hickups (as any other project) mostly coming from our end (delays in responses, unclear instructions etc) but Empat team was very professional in handling those.

This was a major project.

We are an online dating service, where service can be accessed via website and app. Our systems are delibertely more complex, as we focus on quality of membership and not mere quanitity. As such the coding is extremely complicated to not least enable as genuine membership as possible. From screening to automated reviews, complex rules between types of members etc.

Our previous IT team had just finished the very comprehensive and complex task to replace legacy of website with the language of new app. The new IT team was responsible for building a completely new app in flutter, while importantly facilitating a seamless interface with all serverside setup and technology as well as the website and website users. 

Key deliverables included:

• Complete rebuild of existing app with Flutter
• New onboarding process and experience
• Seamless integration with serverside, back-end and admin, as well as website service
