Empik Music - digital music streaming service
For Empik, Poland’s largest provider of cultural and entertainment content, we created an application for streaming music. Due to the high competitiveness of similar solutions, it became important to carefully design the application so that it offered unique features not available in other applications. It was important to have access to as many music tracks as possible and integration with other Empik services.
Empik Music is a digital music streaming service that offers unlimited access to a catalog of millions of music tracks from around the world. You can sign up through your empik.com account. This means that customers using other Empik services do not need to create a new account to access Empik Music content.
The application allows you to easily browse its inventory (artists, albums, playlists), add songs to lists, create your own playlists, and listen to music offline. There are no ads in the app, and its unique feature is analyzing the history of music purchases on empik.com and using it to make musical recommendations. You can also find out what well-known artists, Polish cultural figures and Empik experts recommend. Fans of live events can get information about concerts and meetings with artists, and amateur singers will enjoy the database of song lyrics with a karaoke function.
The Empik Music app offers the highest quality streaming of audio files in the HLS technology, using the AAC/AAC+ codec up to 320 kbps. The tool is easy to maintain and integrates with third-party applications. This way new features can be added easily.
Dozens of virtual machines are responsible for the proper operation of the application. Network traffic generated by the Empik Music service is evenly distributed across all instances of application and streaming servers. The CloudFlare service was used to ensure smooth and secure user experience. The solution was created and developed in a development environment created by Euvic in the Microsoft Azure cloud, using Azure DevOps.

IT Support, Mgmt, & IaaS Infrastructure for Energy Company
"Euvic has always won, in terms of both price and competence."

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the head of IT for the division and for the overall Poland branch, which has about 1,000 employees and 450 users. We have about 80 employees in Poland.
We’re part of the green energy division of the largest energy company in the world. We operate wind farms and several photovoltaic power plants, and we’re building more.
What challenge were you trying to address with Euvic?
We had a support and maintenance project in the green energy division, including end-user support, provision of a Microsoft IIS infrastructure-as-a-service, maintenance and development of the SAP system, and windfarm IT maintenance.
We were looking for the easiest and most cost-effective solution for this.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Euvic facilitated the migration of our SAP and other important systems to their cloud, in an infrastructure-as-a-service model.
Their technicians have gone on-site to our wind farms to fix IT issues.
What is the team composition?
About 20 people from Euvic have worked on our project.
How did you come to work with Euvic?
Euvic had purchased the company that had worked for our power plant. We considered several companies for this project, and we’ve challenged Euvic several times.
It’s our parent company’s policy that we challenge our suppliers every three years. We send requests to the market to check for better solutions. Euvic has always won, in terms of both price and competence.
What is the status of this engagement?
For this model, we started working with Euvic in September 2016. The collaboration is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
I like working with them very much. They do what they say they will. They always try to resolve problems, and they’re able to say no if they’re not sure that they can do something. I’ve had experiences with companies that always said they could do the work, after which there would only be problems with the project. This has never happened with Euvic.
The price is always negotiable, and it’s not the highest on the market. The work quality is good, and the price is reasonable compared to the other vendors we’ve worked with.
How did Euvic perform from a project management standpoint?
There’s a good level of communication, and we have no complaints about their project management.
We communicate through phone calls, their service-desk software, and email. We’ve mainly worked remotely during the pandemic, but we met with their managers and team members from time to time in the past.
What did you find most impressive about them?
When they say that they’re able to deliver something, they will. If they’re not sure that they can do it, they’ll say no. This is not very common in the Polish context.
They’re also able to keep a low price while delivering high quality. They kept prices very low for us for some time, knowing that we were in a transition stage. We renegotiated after we were able to stand up on our own legs. They have a good business approach to collaboration.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Nobody’s perfect, but I can’t specify what Euvic could improve. When a company works in synergy, improving something can break something else.

Custom Software Dev Services for City Hall
“Euvic focused on the targets and had strong management.”

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the IT director for the City Hall of Gdańsk. I’m in charge of strategy and project management. I’ve been here since early 2019.
What challenge were you trying to address with Euvic?
We needed to build a single point of contact for citizens. The City Hall decided to launch a dedicated unit to manage any kind of citizen reports and a communication channel. As part of the challenge, we had to provide an IT solution to support the new contact center. Euvic was the company chosen to provide the solution.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We had a set of KPIs or business objectives to meet and a very tough schedule to build a quite complex solution. Euvic implemented a complete solution consisting of hardware, networking, and software. They provided two integrated software components — contact management and ticket management. Those gave us the ability to get in contact with citizens and manage any tickets coming from their side.
People contact us by phone, through the website, and by chat. The aim was to make reaching us as convenient as possible. It was important to have not only multiple communication channels but to also drive those into a single point of contact. The software from Euvic made this possible.
What is the team composition?
The project kickoff was very important for us, and we met a dozen people from Euvic during that time. They assigned a total of 20 people to the project. I didn’t have much contact with the developers but they had very strong representation from a management and analytical point of view. We collaborated effectively right from the start.
How did you come to work with Euvic?
We ran a public tender. Euvic had strong management and well-skilled people for analyzing requirements. They were quite flexible to changes and risk management. They demonstrated the ability to react quickly.
How much have you invested with them?
The contract has a cost of 2.9 million Polish zlotych (approximately $800,000 USD) including ongoing maintenance.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with Euvic in March 2019, and the go-live for the IT solution was in September 2019. We have a maintenance contract with them until the first quarter of 2022.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
This was a solution for a new department, so we didn’t have KPIs to compare to. We looked at the number of citizens using the contact center and the number of reports created. We saw those numbers increase month by month, which was a good thing for us. We’re getting good satisfaction ratings in this area.
Compared to the commercial sector, it’s not that easy to run a project with a local government, but we did it. There was a very strong collaboration between us and Euvic.
How did Euvic perform from a project management standpoint?
They’ve done a good job with development and maintenance. We haven’t had any major problems. The project had a seven-month deadline, so it was a very aggressive schedule. We met with them quite often during that period in order to react and monitor the work effectively.
The project was done on time and within budget, and we completed the initial scope. We contact them on a case-by-case basis now, if there’s an issue to be resolved.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They had very good planning skills from the start. Euvic focused on the targets and had strong management. It was an open and fair collaboration.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Everyone can improve, but I didn’t identify any serious problems. I’ve suggested to Euvic to become more concentrated on mobility solutions and to pay more attention to security aspects.
Security is very important with these kinds of solutions, especially when providing the whole service, including hardware, networking, and so on. We’ve had some security incidents, which were the trigger for making this suggestion.
Generally speaking, I’d tell them to keep on programming. Euvic did a really good job for us, and there were no big issues.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
We’re a mobile network operator in Poland. I’m an engineer in the company’s technical department.
What challenge were you trying to address with Euvic?
They’re one of our suppliers for the equipment needed to build our microwave transmission network. Our previous partner closed their Poland office, and they took over the contract along with some employees from the other company.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Euvic is responsible for the delivery, installation, and maintenance of microwave equipment in our network. We have three contracts with them, including for ADVA, a German fiber-optic equipment manufacturer.
What is the team composition?
Their microwave division numbers around five engineers and I’ve worked with all of them.
How did you come to work with Euvic?
Our previous partner introduced us to them.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve had almost 200 purchase orders with them, for somewhere below €1 million (approximately $1,200,000 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
We started the microwave contract with Euvic in July 2019, and it’s ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Euvic took over from our previous contractor, and they’re performing well. They deliver on time, and our equipment is working without any problems. I can’t say anything bad about the collaboration at this moment.
How did Euvic perform from a project management standpoint?
This is a never-ending story, because we always want to get things done faster than we are. Euvic has to contact equipment manufacturers in places like Japan, so getting information can take up to a day. It could be faster, but this is the typical communication time between companies. We communicate through email, phone, Microsoft Teams, and Skype, depending on the situation.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They have a relatively small staff for carrying out such huge contracts. There are similar companies in Poland with hundreds of employees, while Euvic has only 5–6 people in the department, depending on the time. They’re always ready to respond and to deploy, and we haven’t noticed any huge problems with them. This was a big surprise for me.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They could improve their speed of communication with external companies.
Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?
I’d recommend them to anyone looking for such a provider.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the senior project manager at Netia, the second biggest telecommunication operator in Poland. I’m responsible for delivery and maintenance of business products for business clients especially products from all sectors.
What challenge were you trying to address with Euvic?
We needed a company to outsource IT work to.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They fully supported me in remote, local support. We are trying to resolve the main problem with PCs, machines, and devices and all the software that has been installed on these devices. It’s a very customized project. I rely on the big IT knowledge of Euvic. The last project I remember was a custom project which was a portal for developers who are trying to deliver their services to their end-users. Euvic’s responsibility was full support for the end-users and specialists. It was a very large scoped project.
We work on other projects with them as well. We have permanent status meetings to talk about what we’d like to improve our products and how we’d like to promote together on social media and marketing as a whole.
What is the team composition?
There’s a project manager/scrum master and someone on the second line of support to define how our operation process will look between us, end-users, and the business client.
How did you come to work with Euvic?
We sent out an RFP to select companies and we chose Euvic because of their knowledge and the specialized projects they’ve done. Their experience was very important to us. They were a clear choice for us.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent less than $10,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in June 2020 and the work is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
All the requirements from the customer have been fulfilled by Euvic at a suitable price. We believe this will be a success together.
How did Euvic perform from a project management standpoint?
We’re trying to set permanent meetings to talk about the status of our cooperation. We try to meet via video connection. I have permanent contact with the account manager who has been assigned to us. We talk about business leads we can achieve together.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They are the most professional company I’ve worked with. They’re a very flexible company. They try to find the most proper solution for our customers at a suitable price.
Are there any areas they could improve?
We are at the beginning of our cooperation. There’s nothing I’d have them improve at this point. All our expectations have been met

Please describe your company and your position there.
I was the board member responsible for sales and technology for the company. The company was established as an integrator of telecommunications services. It provides advanced IT security, collocation, and hosting services, builds corporate networks, and offers data center services located in its own server rooms. It also provides traditional ICT services - Internet access and telephony.
For what projects/services did your company hire Euvic?
Our company has won a prestigious contract for maintaining the Polish-wide educational network of more than 20,000 schools. To well prepare for such a demanding project we needed to adjust and customize our Jira based systems very quickly. We decided to ask Euvic for help because we knew they have the best developers in this field and also huge experience in agile methodology.
What were your goals for this project?
We needed to develop our systems, especially helpdesk and provisioning, adapt them to a much larger scale and meet the customer's specific requirements regarding service processes, SLA, response times, reporting, etc.
How did you select Euvic?
I knew the Euvic Sales Director from previous projects. We knew from experience that they could be trusted and we would get the best possible support.
Describe the project in detail.
During several meetings, we discussed the requirements, established a schedule, and assessed its feasibility, we agreed on the managers and the way of working best suited to the scope of the project. We agreed on a weekly reporting method. We discussed the risks and how to solve them depending on the category.
What was the team composition?
We have our own managers. Euvic provided us with two–three developers depending on project intensity. We also agreed on additional support if needed.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We were getting very good feedback from our customers on quality and on schedule. That was not obvious before hiring Euvic.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
There was no problem in communication between the team. We use Jira to manage the workflow.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Broad knowledge of the subject, positive attitude to work, flexibility, and the ability to adapt to rapidly changing conditions.
Are there any areas for improvement?
We can always expect something to be done faster and cheaper, but in this case, it was very good.

"I’m very happy with the communication and collaboration between our teams."

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
We’re a roofing company headquartered in Reading, UK. We have a CIO and several directors. One of the directors is a business partnering director, and I report to him.
My role is IT business partner for two regions, North and Southeast. The North contains Poland, Russia, and the Baltic countries; and the Southeast includes Austria, the Adriatic countries, Bulgaria, and Albania.
What challenge were you trying to address with Euvic?
I’m not managing a team directly. We have a matrix responsibility model, meaning that I’m responsible for the entire IT area across those countries. The Reading IT group provides me with IT support in terms of their own resources or external supplies.
One of those is Euvic, which provides workplace services and support for two main Poland locations.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We have two main sites in Poland. Euvic sits at those sites, mainly responsible for end-user support. They prepare and maintain workstations, prints, and everything else that requires on-site intervention. They’re responsible for software installations and configurations.
The team maintains our asset-management database. They’re the eyes and hands of our infrastructure team, and they can manage network devices, including teleconferencing systems.
In our production environment, where the operation technology team is crossing with the IT team, we have devices connected to our network that are monitoring production processes. Euvic is responsible for keeping those devices running correctly.
The scope of their work is quite wide. If the service desk isn’t able to resolve the issue, Euvic will redirect the ticket to another line of support.
What is the team composition?
I’m working with two people, one per site. They’re supporting over 400 users. I’m only responsible for our collaboration with them in Poland.
How did you come to work with Euvic?
They were chosen by the head of our team here before I joined the company.
How much have you invested with them?
We spend €100,000 (approximately $121,000 USD) per year.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with Euvic in April 2019.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’re happy with their services, and we’re trying to expand their responsibility to include the Baltic countries. So far, so good, and I have nothing negative to say.
How did Euvic perform from a project management standpoint?
I’m very happy with the communication and collaboration between our teams. They operate as though they were our own employees, and it’s difficult to recognize that they’re from a different company.
We’ve implemented some changes in our model from an IT perspective. I was in direct communication with their team from the beginning. I’m more focused on our agreement and contractual aspects now, so I deal more with the management.
We communicate through phone calls, emails, and remote meetings.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I appreciate their flexibility. Their team also has a great can-do attitude.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I’m having a hard time thinking of something. Their people could be a bit more assertive, but it’s not a significant issue.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
I’d recommend them to someone looking to build a long-term relationship.
