The team respected the budget and didn't charge us extra for anything or try to rebudget the project. The team gave us the budget after considering our expectations, and they met that. Overall, Carte Blanche Innovation Integrated was very solid and respected the plan. They also communicated well; when I asked a question, they responded really quickly. They divided the project into tasks; since it involved diverse expertise, they split it into three, and the development lead handled one part. The team completed the heaviest part of the job in three weeks. They took a couple of weeks to investigate the platform and another couple of weeks to deploy the new one. Ultimately, they built the new system in 3–4 weeks.

I think they’re a true partner. I consider them an extension of the team, not a vendor. We give them access to our office, they come and go and meet with people as needed to move their projects ahead. I trust them with the team, and the work product is always good. They’re flexible and they take feedback well. Some design-oriented people can be rather strong-willed, but they’re flexible. So, if we don’t believe that something is working for our purposes, they’ll redo it and they’ll work with us. They don’t want to rest until they get it right and until they know that we’re happy with it.

They’re willing to be very collaborative. With Kahoots, there’s this lack of ego—they have the ability to be flexible without necessarily being a pushover. They are able to find the best solution and get through the political spectrum that other development teams struggle with. Other developers or agencies would often have a strict point of view and they are not flexible outside of those bounds. Usually, they are also not personable. That’s where Sherrie and her development team are different. They are very easy to work with while producing great work, which ultimately is what you want.
