I am the CEO and Founder of FamilyMeal, a restaurant ordering platform that reimagines the takeout and delivery model for independents.

We hired Fuego to conduct research and execute on a design thesis for a new digital product launch.

What were your goals for this project?

After our first product launch was unsuccessful, we knew that design and UX were where we were falling short. In our mission to become the most exciting restaurant aggregator in the market, we understood that great tech was not going to be enough to get our customers to love us. We asked Fuego to be diligent in their research of the now, but forward-looking in their proposed solution.

As a startup our budget was limited so we searched for boutique design shops with talented founders -- eventually we stumbled on Fuego on LinkedIn.

Fuego's research-driven approach allowed us to demystify the process of how to differentiate ourselves through amazing user journeys. Starting with customer insights and competitive analyses we were able to brick-by-brick translate our company's vision into a digital experience that is world class. As we prepare to relaunch, we do so with confidence knowing that we have a partner with the expertise and resources to scale with us as well.

What was the team composition?

Alex was instrumental in understanding and translating our vision, while Nate was our design wizard.

We have yet to relaunch, so the only tangible outcome at this point has been a sense of excitement.

Our lines of communication were always smooth. We laid out a very clear path at the onset of the project and stayed on track the entire time.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

We appreciated Fuego's pragmatism and process, but what really blew us away was the final web app design -- it was far more sophisticated and enjoyable then we were expecting.

No, they were great! We are going to use them on our next product as well.

How did you select this vendor?

Fuego was selected by a person no longer with the company so I am not able to provide details regarding how we found Fuego UX.

Their team sat with our stakeholders to understand the problem, did extensive research, took an audit of all the existing flows in our system, talked to our end users, designed wireframes, then designed and delivered polished prototypes.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Fuego was able to deliver the designs we needed in a timely manner. Although there were a lot of nuances and complexity to the product, they were still able to be successful in delivering the designs we needed.

We met twice every week with Fuego which helped us up to date with progress and status of the project.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Fuego has passionate individuals who work really hard and ultimately want to give you the best design possible. It was a pleasure working with them.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

In a few instances I felt like they could have spent more time in the wireframing stage but it didn't hurt our project.

We needed a new, modern site to showcase our services. We wanted to make sure the design was modern and usable, and inspired trust.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Fuego's client designs were very appealing, and they were very easy to work with in the sales process.

We had several onboarding meetings to align on the design aesthetic I was going for. Fuego prepared a design board and we iterated on it to get one the same page. Then we meet weekly to review the new designs template by template. The feedback and revision process was excellent.

I worked with 4 people, a PM, lead designer, junior designer, and Art director.

We have not yet launched the site, but the designs are fantastic, and ticked all the boxes we were looking for.

Weekly meetings were productive and efficient, slack was a great tool for ad hoc updates.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I really appreciated their web design expertise, project management skills, and creativity. Also they were extremely easy to work with and communicated well.

No, I was 100% satisfied with the project.
