When we first came to America, we had a hard time because we didn't have anyone to show us the way. Luckily, someone helped us out. That's when we decided to create a platform where we could help Fresh Graduates. A platform where we will help them build their profiles until they find the job they deserve. This way, they wouldn't have to go through the same struggles we did. Eventually, we have decided to launch our platform, That’s why we brought in some experts to implement it the way we want.

We had the idea, and they had the plans. They covered all the what we need like the naming, strategy, design, identity, website design, and development with a proper language. We're happy to say that we got exactly what we wanted!

With just the initial idea, our collaboration with 'minor change' resulted in significant improvements. They helped us in getting a unique name, strategy, and valuable attributes. Furthermore, Now we have a focus, messaging, website with proper language, designs, and creative logo. It turned out to be a very successful project for us.

Their project management exceeded my expectations. They handled everything professionally, so I didn't run into any problems. They delivered the project on time, according to our specific requirements. In short, They truly understood our needs and delivered exactly what we asked for.

Firstly, we were truly inspired by each one of the minors who worked on our project. They may call themselves 'minors,' but they accomplish significant tasks. Their communication was outstanding. They make sure we all are on the same page with complete transparency throughout the process. They kept us informed about the process. We can’t forget their project management skills which were exceptional, which is rare these days. It was truly amazing!

Are there any areas for improvement or something minor change could have done differently?

No doubt everything was up to mark even as a startup company but as you know there is always a room for improvement so we think planning our projects a bit more could make them even better in the future.

Our journey started with moving to Toronto and later to Maritimes in 2018. During these changes, we got Higho Market, which has a gas station and an indoor market. Our main goal is to make it the best all-in-one solution. At that time, We had a website developed, but over time, we weren't happy with it anymore. 
So, we decided to contact “minor change” for redesigning our website. They helped us redesign the website and explained everything about our services. They also made it easier for tourists to find us. Moreover, they did the Art direction as well. In short, our project is about making Higho Market better online, especially the website. Our goal is to create a more satisfying and user-friendly experience for all users and tourists.

We needed a website that's easy to use and tells people all about our services. Minors helped us by making the website better and just right for us. They took care of everything, from its theme to what it says, all to match our location and what we do. This project worked out well because now people can easily know about us, and we moved our offline stuff to the internet, just like we wanted.

Minor's project management was excellent. They were extremely responsive and always quick to address our needs. Furthermore, they delivered our project on time and ensured that our project progressed smoothly and efficiently.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I'm the CEO of Smile and Snap, a small company offering event equipment rentals, specifically photobooth. We're a small company with only two business partners, so we subcontract some services.

What challenge were you trying to address with minor change?
About two years ago, we started our company very quickly and without thinking too much about our brand and how we wanted to take it further. As we got everything quickly set up, we made very basic choices from a branding perspective, such as a template and a simple logo.

Therefore, we wanted to take a step back and establish a proper and better business image. We were thinking about our long-term branding, so we wanted to rebrand our company, relaunch our website, and apply our new image to all of our online platforms.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?
minor change has helped us rebrand and redesign our business image, which has included UI/UX redesign for our website. The team has also provided advice for our website wireframes, and they've created our brand guidelines.

Still, minor change has not only redone our website from the look and feel perspective but also helped us move it to a better platform to increase its performance. That project was part of a technology consulting service. Now, they provide website hosting and maintenance.

Besides launching our new website, minor change has updated all of our social media and created a marketing strategy playbook, which they've handed over to our team to use. We're currently doing some marketing campaigns, for which they're also creating marketing collateral.

Moreover, we're diving more into the corporate event space, so minor change is helping us design the assets and equipment needed for these corporate events. The team is also doing a lot on the SEO side, including blog writing to add more content to our website.
 
What is the team composition?
I usually work with two teammates from minor change on an ongoing basis: a relationship manager and a marketing specialist. Still, they've pulled others into the project as needed.

How did you come to work with minor change?
Someone in the network of my business partner referred us to them. We also did demos with other local companies, and although we met very good design studios, minor change seemed to be very easy to work with. Everyone else used big words and industry jargon, whereas minor change explained everything in very simple terms. Therefore, we felt like they would be easy to work and talk with.

minor change also showed us examples of their past work. Still, they were a very new company when we started working with them, so they showed us some of their in-house projects. After looking at their designs, we were sold.

How much have you invested with them?
Our rebranding project has been roughly $15,000–$20,000.

What is the status of this engagement?
We've been working together since around April 2024.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
One of our biggest achievements is that we're driving more traffic to our site. Initially, we had a very generic brand, so people looked past us — our bounce rate was very high. Now, our traffic has grown, and the visitors are staying longer on the site, so our bounce rate has decreased. From an indexing point of view, our website also ranks better, so people are actually able to find us online.

I use the brand guidelines created by minor change almost every day to run the business. Thanks to them, I feel like we now have a more cohesive feeling. Whenever we have an event, we look more experienced thanks to our uniforms and website. Our brand feels stronger, and everything seems to speak one voice. Thanks to this, I feel more confident in my business, and I don't have to present myself twice because people will remember our brand.

How did minor change perform from a project management standpoint?
minor change has delivered everything on time — I don't remember any delays. Throughout the project, they've provided periodic updates through multiple communication channels. Basically, they've kept everything on track, so I don't need to worry about anything.

We usually communicate via text messages, which makes it very easy for me as a part business owner and head of operations. We've also had phone calls, sometimes over the weekend, and exchanged emails. Whenever we need to see something, we also communicate via Google Meet.

In addition to those tools, minor change keeps everything organized in Trello. Currently, I don't use Trello a lot because there's nothing much going on. During the peak of the project, I had responsibilities assigned, and minor change put those in Trello. It was very easy for me to see it because the app also worked on my phone.

What did you find most impressive about them?
The ease of our collaboration is a great differentiator for minor change. Working with someone very professional in their ways of working can be daunting. Although minor change is very professional in their work, they're also casual in their approach.

The team has delivered everything in a professional manner and offered professional project management, but they still feel very easy to work with. It feels like we can simply sit down with them, have a cup of coffee, and catch up on everything.

They always come prepared, and everyone is still very approachable. I've worked with two of their developers and a content writer as well, and everyone on minor change's team has the same mindset. They're very down to earth.

Are there any areas they could improve?
I've actually given feedback directly to minor change, but it's usually around ideas on how to do things differently rather than how to improve things. Overall, I don't think there's something they could improve on.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?
Keep them on track and guide their vision. Sometimes, they have big ideas for a small business like ours, and although those ideas are great, we can't do them. Keep in mind that they'll have great ideas for your business, but you might not be in a position to implement them.
