It’s their openness. I've not had too much experience working with IT developers, but my company has. With previous experiences, we’d get an invoice without a description to go against it. The invoice covered so much and was so vague that we could see how costs could spiral out of control. Even if we managed to break things down a bit, we could never know exactly how much a task was going to cost.
