I’m an infrastructure engineer at QuickChek Corporation, a retail company. We operate over 150 convenience stores in New Jersey and New York, offering freshly prepared foods, baked goods, and award-winning coffee, focusing on customer satisfaction and quality service.

What specific goals or objectives did you hire Ryware to accomplish for QuickChek Corporation’s infrastructure needs?

We hired Ryware to support several infrastructure and backend engineering initiatives with three primary objectives: 1) modernize and optimize our infrastructure to improve system reliability, scalability, and overall performance; 2) develop and integrate backend services and internal APIs that streamline operational processes across multiple business systems; and 3) automate deployment and monitoring workflows while strengthening security, reducing manual maintenance, and improving system stability.

Ryware partnered with our infrastructure and engineering teams to improve the reliability, performance, and maintainability of several internal systems. Their work included designing and developing backend services, implementing RESTful API integrations, optimizing database performance, and enhancing cloud-based infrastructure to support business-critical applications. 
They also automated deployment workflows, improved system monitoring and logging, resolved infrastructure and application issues, and assisted with performance tuning to ensure stable day-to-day operations.

In addition to implementation work, Ryware participated in technical planning, architecture discussions, code reviews, testing, and deployment activities. They collaborated closely with our internal team, adapted quickly to changing priorities, and provided ongoing support throughout the engagement.

Infrastructure-related support incidents decreased by nearly 30% after system optimizations, while backend response times improved by around 18% through database tuning and service enhancements. Deployment automation also reduced manual release effort by approximately 40%, resulting in more consistent deployments, fewer post-release issues, and improved overall system reliability.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Overall, we were very satisfied with Ryware's performance and the quality of their work. If there was one area for improvement, it would be providing more proactive long-term recommendations around infrastructure scalability and future technology planning earlier in the engagement. While they were always responsive when we requested guidance, introducing those strategic discussions sooner could have helped us evaluate additional optimization opportunities. Aside from that, the collaboration was smooth, and we were pleased with both the process and the results.

Thanks to Ryware’s work, our system has stabilized, and we’ve finally had an increase in customer satisfaction and some new customers by reference. I’ve received some nice emails from customers saying they’re now enjoying working with the system, which is great and very appreciated.

Ryware’s team is professional and goes above and beyond to provide for us and give us what we want. They’ve delivered a little bit before the deadline so we can have time for revisions. We communicate via virtual meetings, emails, and messaging apps.
