Background

Introduce your business and what you do there.

We are RiskIQ, a software company specializing in digital risk monitoring and external threat management. I was the director of products for the company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Woopra?

We had been tasked with procuring an analytics solution for the company. Our goals were to better understand how high-value customers were using the product, as well as to integrate with some sales and marketing, allowing us to better develop product-qualified leads through a new freemium solution that we'd acquired.

Solution

How did your company implement Woopra?

Woopra provided the ability to collect individual profiles in real-time, which was extremely important to us. Many of the other tools only sampled data or provided aggregates. We didn't know how individual high-value accounts were using our tool. Being a small company with many high-value accounts, aggregate data wasn't worthwhile to us. The questions that we were getting were in terms of how economic and champion buyers, as well as everyday users, were using our tool. We were also trying to better understand our cohorts and segments in the base, and isolate their usage. We had a number of internal users; being able to look at them based on accounts, and understand how they were using the tool on customers' behalf, was important as well.

Lastly, and of equal importance, were integrations. Woopra integrated with both Marketo and Salesforce, providing valuable data which could be pulled into profiles and pulled back into those platforms.

How did you come to choose Woopra?

We already had Google Analytics implemented, and we compared Woopra to a couple of other solutions, including Marketo's web analytics, as well as Kissmetrics' mix-panel solutions. We reviewed a couple of analyst papers on the web analytics space and decided that Woopra was best suited for our needs, as an enterprise B2B [business-to-business] company looking for both account-based marketing, as well as analysis of individual accounts.

Are there any features that differentiate Woopra from other platforms you've used in the past?

The triggers were extremely useful. We were able to structure events, adding color codes and icons. We set the platform up in such a way as to offer reports to everyone in our product team, detailing how much their features were being used, the total values on the accounts using the features, and so on.

We were expecting these functionalities to be there, but once we started using them, it was great to see how much data we could get out of them.

How much have you invested in Woopra?

We fit into Woopra's enterprise pricing category.

Results

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of Woopra?

We haven't seen any significant results yet. The implementation of the platform itself was very easy, only taking a few hours here and there of our front-end developers' time. The rest of the work was accomplished by our intern, who didn't have to write a single line of code. It was a low-cost implementation for us.

We had an involved evaluation process in terms of setting up the integration and supporting our use case. Everyone in marketing and sales operations was involved, and we reviewed the needs of each team. The feedback after going through all of this was that Woopra was the only tool that could easily support all of our use cases. Following the whole lifecycle of the customer, from the visit to our corporate website, to signing up for the freemium tool, to converting to an actual paying customer, and becoming an enterprise customer, with higher-touch services from our customer success team, all the different integration needs that we've had in making sure that the data was being tested were met. Everyone has had experiences with software not integrating well with other systems, or not supporting a use case when it came down to using it. During our implementation and evaluation process, we tested every functionality. Woopra works quite well.

The jury's still out in terms of results, given that we're still using it. The team will have some results within the next couple of months on how well it's performing in terms of market strategy.

Have you had interactions with any of their support team or support resources?

Woopra provides great online documentation and a very responsive customer success team.

Is there anything that could be improved or added to future releases of Woopra?

They've had various iterations of the dashboards and reports, and Woopra is about to release another update, which I think will make it a lot easier to generate custom reports. The current implementation may not be as good as previous ones, but Woopra is working on fixing it.

Woopra is working on many cool enhancements which we're looking forward to seeing. Many of these revolve around the addition of a dynamic field to customer profiles.

The Review
Background

Introduce your business and what you do there.

Our company offers a software used primarily by design and development teams. Our largest clients are Uber, Airbnb, Tesla, and Squarespace.

I run the creative and marketing teams for the company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Woopra?

Attribution tracking is nearly impossible in terms of paid click or other types of engagements with media, through a funnel for product framing and subscription.

Solution

What was the scope of their involvement?

Woopra was the only solution that we've found to offer attribution tracking. 98% of the analytics performed in our company across development, sales marketing, and design are driven by Woopra.

How did you come to work with Woopra?

Our company uses 7 other technologies in our analytics suite and had primarily used Mixpanel in the past. We heard about Woopra's solution and tested it. After that point, we ditched all of our other analytics platforms and came to use Woopra almost exclusively with a few one-off exceptions. We now mostly use Mixpanel for event tracking on micro-applications.

What was the main reason for choosing Woopra?

The chronological lens that Woopra gives us for seeing events taking place, and what has happened since they occurred, was a problem that we couldn't solve by using Mixpanel. We can see when a user signs up, as well as other activities, and create a predictive model for the activities which we need to increase in order to drive more subscriptions. This is not a trivial problem to solve, and Woopra is the closest thing we've found to solving it.

How much have you invested in Woopra?

We're always increasing our subscription, but I don't know what the current cost is.

Results

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

From a marketing perspective, we were able to see that certain types of investments were producing more ROI [return on investment]. Previously, we were getting stuck at going from paid click to registration. Going from registration to a freemium account, to a subscribed user, is a hard-to-track process. Woopra allows us to go all the way to the initial point of contact, allowing us to optimize our expenditure. We increased ROI for our paid effort by over 50% in the first month.

Are there any services which haven't performed up to your expectations, or is there any tool which you'd like to see implemented within Woopra?

The only other systems that we use outside of Woopra are our internal metrics platform and Google Analytics, which don't apply in this case. Woopra is by far the best solution for us in providing the analytics that matter for marketing. There isn't huge room for improvement; Woopra needs to get its story out there given that it's much better than everything we've used, and we've tested everything.

Have you had interactions with any of their support team or support resources?

Every time we've had a support ticket, Woopra's team closed it on the same day.
