Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m an external consultant for the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). We support countries through cooperation and loans to improve the delivery of public policies. I’m linked to a project regarding the social branch of public policy.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Greencode?

We needed help with web development and design. We wanted to create a customer experience-wise website, rather than the ordinary website that a public institution can deliver. In fact, it's worth mentioning that we’re in a triangular relationship with Greencode, IDB, and a public institution here in Costa Rica.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Greencode has developed our website from scratch. They’ve led the project and developed the concept. Additionally, Greencode has designed the website. They’ve assisted us in developing the imagery and how it should be designed; advising on the colors to use. Moreover, they’ve oriented us in conversations with the communications staff from the ministry.

Greencode has also trained the IT staff in place at the ministry to guarantee they can address the project once it’s finished. They’ve engaged and trained IT and non-IT staff to learn and manage all the tools. Now, they focus on post-launch support.

What is the team composition?

We’ve worked with around six people from Greencode. We have mainly spoken with Ezequiel, the co-founder, Marcos, the product owner, and three developers. We’ve also spoken with a designer about how the design should look and which colors to use.

How did you come to work with Greencode?

Greencode won an offer that the bank made online. It was a long and complicated procurement process. They were selected among other candidates. They had already worked in Argentina and other countries, and their experience and services were what IDB was looking for.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Greencode in April 2024, and the project is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Greencode has delivered the website on time. We’ve had a launch event addressed by our country's VP. We’ve had pressure on it, and it was delivered well, so we’re happy about that. Greencode has opened the mind of that public institution, which is something uncommon in public service. Not to mention, they have been really good at the staff training.

There are ongoing metrics about people entering the website, creating accounts, or asking for services. Although these are unclear, it's certain that people have used the website so far. We’re trying to improve and get more use of it. It’s nice because it has been used. We’re looking for ways to engage more people with the website.

Furthermore, thanks to Greencode's early delivery, we now have more time to improve the deliverables. They are now finishing the development stage and are focusing on support.

How did Greencode perform from a project management standpoint?

We haven’t waited a long time to have something delivered; they have been timely. Besides, we have meetings with them through Microsoft Teams and Google Meet.

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

We really love Marcos as a counterpart. He keeps everything in control and is supported by all their colleagues.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Greencode has provided us with really good service. They’ve taken all our requests and given us some ideas. If they’re not doable within our capabilities or go beyond the budget, which is common while working with public institutions, they give us an alternative. We haven’t received a no for an answer so far.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there’s nothing they can improve on.

What challenge were you trying to address with Greencode?

We needed support in developing e-commerce and loyalty platforms for our customers.

SOLUTION

What is the scope of their involvement?

Greencode is responsible for the design, development, and programming of e-commerce and loyalty platforms for our clients. The loyalty platform they have developed allows users to redeem points from banks. They build the platforms using Python, and we use servers and databases at Amazon. The repository is on GitHub.

What is the team composition?

Initially, we worked with two senior developers, one semi-senior, and two juniors. Now, we have a project manager who helps us with the tasks that Greencode takes care of.

How did you come to work with Greencode?

When I joined the company, they were already working with us. I know they had business relations with the company. The CEO of our company knew the CEO of Greencode, and they started working together.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project started in January 2013, and we continue working with them.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I don't have specific data on the performance of their development for us, but Greencode's work has made it easier for us to sell products through e-commerce platforms. Of course, the quality of the team's work is excellent and has exceeded our expectations.

How did Greencode perform from a project management standpoint?

They are punctual, take the time, make their plans, and we always meet the deadlines. Greencode always hits milestones despite some projects remaining open and having uncertain plans or needing more development.

We work with four important banks in Argentina. Thanks to Greencode, we homologate their platforms at the level of computer security, and we comply with those standards and homologations with and with their audits.

We use Slack to communicate, which is more specific to what we do. Then, we use Redmine to monitor. We also use two methodologies with Greencode: the Kanban methodology for support and the Agile methodology for development. That is why, in Redmine, we have both configurations to monitor both aspects.

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

I want to highlight Miguel, a coworker who always does outstanding work.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They are coworkers who, although they are teams from different companies, are interdisciplinary, and we work together and create synergy. It is essential.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I think that we are people first, and then we work. So, trust is crucial for me in my work. Being able to trust, knowing that when you need them, they are there when you ask for something and get it done, as well as the synergy and the ways they have to improve, always seeing and finding something new and improving what you have planned. Greencode's good work and professionalism are trustworthy.
