After we hired a new marketing director, we needed to implement a social listening/monitoring program to help the marketing team understand the conversations of our target audience. We wanted to understand our consumers better and understand the competitive landscape, and gauge our campaign effectiveness.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

They were referred to me by Robin Harman, my wife. After I read the Clutch reviews I decided to engage them for this project.

B3 first conducted an audit of our social landscape and three competitors. Their fluency in social listening and analytics tools allowed them to quickly generate a customized social landscape brand audit. My company has over 40 franchise gyms in operation and B3 analyzed our channels providing strategic recommendations on how to increase engagement for our bottom performing gyms. The audit included a SWOT Analysis, detailed social channel insights and a thorough competitive landscape analysis and website review. In addition to providing measurable channel metrics, they also did a deep-dive into consumer comments to provide my team with a robust conversation theme analysis.

B3 combined visual search listening to find images of our brand where captions did not include our gym name. This was helpful by allowing us to capture content not directly found through traditional social listening. We were able to catalog these content pieces for a future UGC campaign. Additionally, they recommended strategies to increase brand sentiment, engagement, improve our SOV within our competitive set, and use listening to inform our marketing content strategy

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

My marketing team dealt directly with Myra and Barika. They had a few analysts on their team that worked on the reports as well. I dealt with Thomas, the CEO, for contract details.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

B3 was able to quickly turn around a deep analysis report that impacted our decision making process. B3 provided us with search listening insights so we could understand what people were most curious about when searching for our gyms. It gave us great insights on content for offers, UGC campaign series and new localized competitors. B3 also provided us with influencer/partnership recommendations tailored to our geographic region (which is extremely difficult to find), community management suggestions (addressing the most common questions/concerns) and improving net sentiment and net promoter scores.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

I know they use a project management system to stay on top of deadlines and tasks. My marketing team met with B3 on a weekly basis for the first month. Meetings eventually went to 1x a month with a zoom presentation of the monthly report and recommendations. I appreciated the walk-through of the data and the 1 page executive summary. It was easy to understand and share within our organization. The marketing team was pleased to know when their campaign had great returns in engagement and they were equally appreciative to know how they could improve upon other activations that did not do to well.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They really know what they are doing. It’s a very specialized and niche service. They took the lead and basically showed us how to use social listening strategies and the reporting process to track and measure our progress.

B3 was able to quickly turn around a deep analysis report that impacted our decision making process. B3 provided us with search listening insights so we could understand what people were most curious about when searching for our gyms. It gave us great insights on content for offers, UGC campaign series and new localized competitors. B3 also provided us with influencer/partnership recommendations tailored to our geographic region (which is extremely difficult to find), community management suggestions (addressing the most common questions/concerns) and improving net sentiment and net promoter scores.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

I know they use a project management system to stay on top of deadlines and tasks. My marketing team met with B3 on a weekly basis for the first month. Meetings eventually went to 1x a month with a zoom presentation of the monthly report and recommendations. I appreciated the walk-through of the data and the 1 page executive summary. It was easy to understand and share within our organization. The marketing team was pleased to know when their campaign had great returns in engagement and they were equally appreciative to know how they could improve upon other activations that did not do to well.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They really know what they are doing. It’s a very specialized and niche service. They took the lead and basically showed us how to use social listening strategies and the reporting process to track and measure our progress.

I don’t have anything to add here. They met my needs and expectations.

B3 Media Solutions provides us with social listening and audience reports.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Right now, B3 Media Solutions monitors Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube for us. They monitor our competitors too. The team currently uses Brandwatch as its social listening platform.

They provide us reports either ad hoc or at a monthly reporting level. We have weekly check-ins with them to go over insights. The team helps with trending topics and making recommendations for our business.

B3 Media Solutions looks at the overall conversation – what people are talking about and what the trends are. The team advises us from those trends, letting us know if we should invest more in a trend or social media platform. They help us stay relevant in the conversation and see potential problem areas or areas to win as well.

What is the team composition?

We deal directly with Myra (Co-Founder), Barika (Co-Founder & CMO), and Thomas (Co-Founder). Under them, they have three junior analysts.

How did you come to work with B3 Media Solutions Inc.?

They were already picked out by my previous manager. When my manager left, I was pretty adamant about keeping them on board. We found that people coming in from leading organizations found their work impressive.

How much have you invested with them?

I want to say it’s between $80,000–$130,000 per year.

What is the status of this engagement?

I started working with them in October 2017. We recently re-signed a one-year contract.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

At first, we kept the reports internally to help with our strategy. The reports provide us with helpful audience insights and analysis. After a while, I started printing them out as sharing them with people outside of my direct team. Everyone wants the reports. Even the president is aware of them.

They’re a small company, but we never feel constrained by them. They’re always supportive and on top of it. The reports are easy to digest, and our company can use their insights to drive its marketing approach.

How did B3 Media Solutions Inc. perform from a project management standpoint?

Each week, we have a check-in. They’re always on point. In the last three years, they’ve never been late.

While we do use email, we mostly work with them out of Google Docs. They’ll make sure to give us access to the reports before the meetings. We had a shared folder that stores everything we collaborate on.

Their team walks us through them to make sure that they can answer any questions. Our weekly check-ins are where we touch base. It’s a very collaborative effort. I’ll share if we’re aware of an organization’s plans, and they’ll keep an eye on that topic and see if there’s any trend.

What did you find most impressive about them?

B3 Media Solutions values the relationship more than receiving the top buck.

It was apparent while we were going through budget cuts and furloughs within our industry that they were still willing to work with us on our contract. They found areas of efficiency to continue our working relationship with them. Their team cut certain hours so that we weren’t getting charged as much. They also kept the rate pretty consistent.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Nothing really jumps out.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be open and talk with them. Thomas handles the business side, and he’s an open and honest person. They will tailor whatever you need, even if it’s not on the menu. If you’re thinking of working with them, let them know what you need exactly. Communication is key with them.
