For what projects/services did your company hire Lightpoint Global, and what were your goals?
We needed a strong team of experienced developers who had proven deep expertise in the FinTech industry. We were looking for a reliable partner who could help us develop amulti-component system with integrations including APIs for banks, databases and tertiary services, SAP integration, and a web app for payment management and control.
Initially, our main goal was to develop an MVP first that could help us understand what the client needs were for future development. Once MVP was done, the client decided to proceed with further development work and we continued our collaboration with Lightpoint Global.
How did you select Lightpoint Global and what were the deciding factors?
We made up a list of a few firms with whom we could potentially work on the project. Then we narrowed the list to 4 teams. We had an interview with each team where we discussed our technical requirements and learnt more about their experience.
Finally, we chose Lightpoint Global as they had developed almost the same solution and left an impression as a reliable partner with the level of expertise we were looking for.

Lightpoint Global started with a discovery process, their team was assisting us with the client’s business needs and goals. As the client had prepared a precise list of requirements, the team began to match them with the functionality required. Each step was tracked on weekly iterations. Then we moved to the design phase.
Being a design studio, we provided guys with the concept design and they started to code the platform. A big part of the functionality was omitted since the client wanted to see the MVP first. They tested an early version of platform and we were ready to demonstrate to the client. When the MVP was approved, the team continued with further development work. Currently, the project is ongoing.

The workflow was great, we were communicating mostly via Slack and emails. The team developed the platform in short iterations, followed by new rounds of testing and the client feedback. Everyone was always involved and we saw that customer satisfaction is their priority.

We provided them our high level project requirements via a slide deck. We explained them our platform needs around performance and scalability. We agreed on a 2-week sprint cycle for rapid development and testing.
We requested them to use Vue.js framework for front end development. Lightpoint Global team suggested us Node.js for backend and Google Tensorflow for building NLP and data science models. Some parts of the platform also required development in Amazon Lex and ElasticSearch frameworks.

There were 3 members in the core team including a full stack developer, a tech lead and a data science engineer. There were other resources like a UI/UX designer who were used as and when needed.

We were able to develop our platform in rapid iterations that helped us test our business model and technology. The deliverables were high quality and the team was always open to make improvements based on the feedback.

We had to rewrite our entire app on a new platform, add additional features and implement integrations with other SaaS products. The new platform had to be written from scratch. It was fully integrated in Azure DevOps. We use scrum process and run sprints every 2 weeks. The initial development took almost a year with the successful production deployment on February 1, 2021.

Even with limited resources we were able to launch our app on time. I was truly impressed with the whole team dedication towards the final goal. There is 8 hour difference between our time zones but having someone willing to finish critical work afterhours is indispensable.

We meet twice a week via Zoom to discuss our roadmap, priorities and tasks for the current sprint. We use Slack, Intercom, DevOps and email for communication.

In the past 15+ years I have attended many different tech conferences, had a pleasure to interact with well known names in the industry and worked with many consultants. I was impressed how quickly LightPoint team was able to adapt to our endless requests and high complexity of tasks.

This client shared thу info that the implementation of a ticket support system reduced the churn rate for 15%. It means that Lightpoint team helped our client painlessly build in a new custom logic into the functioning business processes, migrate their data (it’s huge) with no loss of objects from the previous CRM, with the improved reporting system they’ve got the opportunity to see clearly their growth points.

I’m the owner of MarketingG2.
What challenge were you trying to address with Lightpoint?
We were trying to scale development capabilities with people who overlap in time-zones and had a deep skill set.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They built e-commerce capabilities into an existing platform using a mix of Node.js and .NET platform technology. Using AngularJS, their team created tools for customers and in-house administrators, which allows them to configure, report and manage our applications. Lightpoint built data-tracking technology for us to capture visitor behavior. They continue to work on site enhancements.
What is the team composition?
We primarily communicate with a project manager, but there were a few dozen team members who work on the technology, development and QA automation.
How did you come to work with Lightpoint?
Lightpoint was recommended to us by an associate. We were pleased with the results of the pilot project we gave them and decided to expand the collaboration.
What is the status of this engagement?
We began collaborating in April 2015, and it’s ongoing.

Clients have given positive feedback on the performance of the product. The administrative features have improved efficiency and productivity with our internal team. We use Team Foundation Servers (TFS) to manage all of the tasks and TSheets to track the project and resources used. They manage their team effectively.
