Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the founder and CEO of a small startup company. We offer a unique app-based fitness program where people have to record themselves doing workouts, and their friends and peers can validate them in real-time to ensure that they’re, in fact, doing the workouts they said they would do.
What challenge were you trying to address with 7EDGE?
We needed a development partner to help us develop our app.
What was the scope of their involvement?
7EDGE helped us develop the app we needed for our fitness program from scratch. One of our founders was proficient in Photoshop, so we initially provided them with rough sketches and ideas we had designed internally. Then, they re-engineered what we had put together to make it more harmonious.
This app was developed exclusively for iOS. Among its core features are a social feed similar to Instagram or TikTok and a simple user journey to create workouts. Additionally, 7EDGE integrated creative elements, such as notification icons and pop-ups.
What is the team composition?
Ashu (Founder) was very involved in the beginning, but he remained available throughout the entire process. Additionally, we worked with different departments within 7EDGE, including design, frontend development, and backend development, so we touched base with around 20–30 people from their organization.
How did you come to work with 7EDGE?
They were recommended by a friend of a friend who had worked for them. This person said that they were fun and quality people to work with and that their work was very good. Thus, we decided to interview them, and they provided a very strong proposal and a competitive price and gave us a good understanding of what they could do for us.
After weighing options between them and three other companies, we decided to work with 7EDGE for a few reasons. One of the reasons was their strong presentation, another was their price, and the third one was the people in their organization. They seemed upbeat, friendly, and excited to work with us.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent around $60,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in January 2022, and we launched the app in September 2022. However, 7EDGE has been kind enough to keep working with us to work through issues and solve bugs we found after completing it.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
7EDGE delivered what they promised and how they promised. Now, we have an app with user-friendly navigation and streamlined processes. As general feedback, they were competitive, hardworking, and willing to do what it took to deliver the product that they promised.
How did 7EDGE perform from a project management standpoint?
7EDGE was very good and easy to work with. Additionally, they were very upfront about the timelines, estimating 6–8 months and landing right around that timeframe. The project was about 98% on target, and the few overages we had were a miss on both parties, so they were not to blame. We used Miro for the designs, Slack for communication, and TestFlight to beta-test the app.
What did you find most impressive about them?
One of 7EDGE’s strongest attributes was one of their designers; this person took our initial designs and brought them to the next level, which was impressive. Moreover, they showed outstanding capabilities of understanding what we wanted and delivering a better experience than expected, implementing things we didn’t think about.
Are there any areas they could improve?
The testing phase was the only aspect of 7EDGE’s work that needed improvement. They were very good at staying on track and keeping the development project going, but they could have done a better job during testing. Still, their work was very good overall.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Firstly, I would recommend working with 7EDGE; they did a great job for us. Secondly, be clear in what you want because if you don’t, it will be hard to scope the project out.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CEO of Inmoments Limited, a services marketplace.
What challenge were you trying to address with 7EDGE?
They worked as our outsourced development partner.
What was the scope of their involvement?
To start, we sat down and developed the scope of the project based on our requirements. We then moved on to working through design sprints and building our UI/UX. They’re supposed to deliver the apps by the end of this month or early next month depending on how quickly we can get clearance for payment processing from the central bank. We provided them with documentation, and they provided a product design for us.
What is the team composition?
We’re working with their chief consultant, as well as a service architecture resource, and a UX designer. Sandhya (Node.js Developer) is handling the mobile development.
How did you come to work with 7EDGE?
We’re based in Uganda, and it’s a small talent market here. First, we tried to recruit locally to build our platform, but it was quite difficult. 7EDGE had the experience in building scalable systems that we needed.
They gave us a great breakdown at the outset. We had introductory meetings with two companies, and 7EDGE was willing to work with us to refine our scope. They were knowledgeable and had experienced team members.
How much have you invested with them?
The cost is around $70,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We’ve been working together since December 2021.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The most important result for us was staying within the timeframe. The sprints were designed in such a way that after we completed the UI system we could review it and test it. So far, the system is stable, with no glitches, and does everything we need it to do.
How did 7EDGE perform from a project management standpoint?
They are very professional and sometimes deliver way ahead of time. They’ve assigned a specific project manager, and she’s been proactive in communicating with us. They’re outstanding.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their willingness to share industry knowledge stands out. I’m not technical, and they’re always willing to explain their ideas and suggestion to me.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I don’t think there’s anything significant to mention. I haven’t encountered an instance where I’ve wished something was different.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Have everything ready when you sign up with them. I didn’t anticipate that we would move as quickly as we did and we had to play catch up, which puts both sides at a disadvantage.

Custom Software & App Dev for Ex-Pats Service Platform
“They're very sure about their art and skill — they stand by it.”

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the co-founder of Easidesi Technology Limited. We’re making a service platform for global ex-pats to get their work done back in India.
What challenge were you trying to address with 7EDGE?
We needed to build a mobile application and a CRM system for our company.
What was the scope of their involvement?
7EDGE has built the product from scratch. They use Python as the backend language and React Native as the frontend. The platform is native to iOS and Android, and the CRM system is designed for our backend team to manage the customers.
The app is hosted on AWS. We’ve taken most of the bolts on SaaS products that AWS has to offer for our mobile app and taken a subscription. Additionally, the mobile app has other functionalities, such as call-back options. We’re using other software for our communication channels, like Twilio and SendGrid.
What is the team composition?
One of the partners interacts with us once a week. We also interact daily with the project manager. Then, the team has development, system, and testing engineers. Additionally, UX/UI managers designed the product in the initial part of the process.
How did you come to work with 7EDGE?
We found them through a Google search.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve roughly spent $58,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started the engagement around March 2022, and it’s ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’re still in the development and staging phases, so we’re measuring the timeliness of the project. So far, we’re on track in terms of completion. Also, the output quality is top-notch thanks to the process and project management. They understand everything we ask for and deliver accordingly.
How did 7EDGE perform from a project management standpoint?
Project management has been good. The process has been well-defined and transparent from day one. Even if there have been a few scope creeps of cost deviations, they’ve been expected, discussed, and agreed upon.
We use Slack for project management and communication. Additionally, we use Miro boards, wireframes, and Adobe XD for prototyping.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They stick to their guns. They're very sure about their art and skill — they stand by it. Also, they accept their faults but don’t stand down if they haven’t done something wrong.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They should take feedback positively, work on it, and become stronger than they are.
Any advice for potential customers?
Be ready to be asked for absolute clarity on the scope and business requirements. They won’t move ahead if you’re unclear on what they need to deliver.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CTO for Letseat. We’re a tech company that provides food delivery services.
What challenge were you trying to address with 7EDGE?
We brought them in from the beginning to help build our entire platform.
What was the scope of their involvement?
7EDGE has developed our platform from scratch. They’re in charge of the software programming, and we make sure all our needs are allocated.
We’ve had various project stages. The basic requirements for the MVP are that users can sign up and place an order for their food. It’s the same functionality for the mobile application and website, and we also have an app for the restaurants. When customers order, they’re notified and can print out a ticket.
They’ve used React Native for the mobile apps, Next.js for the website, and Native Android for the restaurant application.
What is the team composition?
We work with anywhere between 2–12 people; it’s been different over different stages. On average, there are always between 6–8 people on the team. Additionally, we have three primary contacts: a solutions architect, a lead application developer, and a project manager.
How did you come to work with 7EDGE?
We didn’t want to permanently hire someone in the UK because we didn’t know how long we’d need the development team. Also, the prices in the UK weren’t competitive with the global market, so we decided to look elsewhere. My partner shortlisted many companies and narrowed it down to six. We spoke with them about the technologies we wanted to use and considered the price. Then, we whittled it down to three vendors.
Although they were the most expensive, we went with 7EDGE because we got the most confidence from them. They were really helpful from the beginning; we probably spoke for 5–6 hours before reaching any sort of agreement. Their team was happy to give us that time, which settled any reservations we might’ve had.
How much have you invested with them?
The initial work was about $60,000. We’ve added work and the ongoing application maintenance, so we’re right on $100,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We began working together in January 2021, and our relationship is ongoing. They’ve shipped the MVP, and we built an additional application. In the meantime, we have a monthly maintenance package and will contract them for at least another year.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’ve been working with them for some time, but we had a closed group launch for an extended period while we added features and got early feedback. Since we went live in January, we’ve got 1,500 users and 2,600 downloads across Android and iOS. Additionally, we’re up to 185 onboarded restaurants, and most of our success can be attributed to 7EDGE.
How did 7EDGE perform from a project management standpoint?
They’ve been great; the team is constantly evolving. When we did the first project, we were happy with them, but they’ve refined and improved their process even more. Now, they provide sketches and other things from the early stages to the final design. They’re trying to create a constant feedback loop, which we prefer. The constant communication has been excellent.
We use Slack to communicate daily and Jira as a ticketing system to keep everything accountable.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Before seeing their work, their transparency was outstanding. They were very open about all their procedures and offered us to speak with their previous clients if we wanted to. Also, they were willing to negotiate based on the scale of the project, which interested us.
Moreover, their work is always high standard. Anytime we’ve had issues, they’ve resolved them quickly or in the time they’d said they would. In general, there isn’t much to complain about. We’ve also dropped a lot of work that wasn’t on the initial scope, and they’ve onboarded extra members and switched things around to accommodate us.
Are there any areas they could improve?
We only used Slack before, and it was a bit messy. However, we soon realized that and switched over to Jira. Since then, it’s been pretty much flawless. If there’s anything to improve, it’s probably on our end.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
If you’re using an international market, be clear about your vision and aware that markets are very different in different parts of the world. Therefore, it’s vital to be descriptive about your audience, market, and needs. If everybody is clear on what’s expected, you’ll usually get what you want.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the operations manager of a software company that provides software to accounting firms.
What challenge were you trying to address with 7EDGE?
We were trying to get our software built, parting from a conceptual idea and making it into a working product. Another company had already provided us with the wireframes, so we were looking for help to build out a workable product.
What was the scope of their involvement?
7EDGE has helped us build our software, which is an engagement management software. Throughout our engagement, they’ve helped us brainstorm some ideas to pivot in the marketplace and make our product stand out, creating a unique UX.
What is the team composition?
I’ve had direct contact with six people from 7EDGE.
How did you come to work with 7EDGE?
We found 7EDGE on a company-rating website while searching for top software development companies on Google, but I’m not sure if it was Clutch or another site. This site gave us a list of recommended companies for software development, among which 7EDGE was. After reaching out to them, we set up a meeting where we could talk with their development team and some of their UI designers. We discussed the project, and they told us what they could do for us. Then, they gave us a quote, and we took it from there.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in June 2021, and our engagement is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
7EDGE has completed the product, and it is working well. They’ve met our expectations regarding its UI/UX design and functionality, and we’ve also gotten positive feedback from clients in that regard.
How did 7EDGE perform from a project management standpoint?
7EDGE is very good at communicating, and they get back to us in a timely manner whenever we have a question. Despite being in a different time zone than us, we always expect an answer within half an hour. We communicate via email and Slack.
What did you find most impressive about them?
7EDGE has demonstrated an impressive ability to take our design and add value to it. They’ve built out our product, providing it with their own spin to enhance it and differentiate it from other products in the marketplace.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Ensure that you know your market very well.

E-Commerce Web & Mobile App Dev for Paper Doll Company
"They are actual people who care about what I have to say. We have a genuine connection."

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the owner of an e-commerce company that customizes and sells paper dolls. We offer a subscription service for our customers.
What challenge were you trying to address with 7EDGE?
I needed to develop an e-commerce website and mobile app so I turned to 7EDGE.
What was the scope of their involvement?
At the beginning of this project, I only had an idea of how the site should function and what it should look like. I relied on the 7EDGE team to help me build my website according to e-commerce standards.
I provided all of the images and content and hired another agency to create the text. 7EDGE took over the development and created functions that could allow my customers to download the templates for the paper dolls.
The mobile app is currently being developed with more or less the same features as the website. I asked 7EDGE to build it so that users could also download, print, and purchase paper dolls but this time, directly from their mobile devices. 7EDGE is building the app for Android and iOS.
What is the team composition?
I met a good number of their people during the initial meeting, but my main point of contact was their team leader and the five main members who were developing the site.
How did you come to work with 7EDGE?
I found them through LinkedIn. I searched for developers and reached out to 15 different vendors, all of whom responded to me rather quickly. The reason I chose to work with 7EDGE was that I found them to be the most welcoming. They really listened to and understood my needs.
How much have you invested with them?
I’ve paid about $40,000 for the website and the app.
What is the status of this engagement?
The partnership began in January 2021, and the team is currently building the mobile app.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We experienced a bit of a delay in the launch of the website because we had to get the right product images on the platform. It wasn’t anything that 7EDGE did; it was more on me since I didn’t have enough details ready on my end and decided to add a subscription panel just a couple of weeks ago.
Overall, though, the website came out very visually appealing. What I like about 7EDGE is that, even though I asked for their suggestions on how to build the site, they did not push on their ideas and instead listened to mine.
How did 7EDGE perform from a project management standpoint?
The 7EDGE team has been very flexible and has met all of my expectations. They’ve been very patient and thorough, and they’ve listened to all of my input. We communicate through Slack and Zoom and hold meetings every week.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Working with 7EDGE doesn’t feel at all like working with a company. They are actual people who care about what I have to say. We have a genuine connection, and I can really trust them to be involved in every process.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I would recommend them to keep minutes of our Zoom meetings or record our sessions just to keep track of what we’ve covered. It would be really helpful for me since I’m an easily excitable person who can sometimes be all over the place and because I’m not too familiar with all the technical terms.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Though it’s tempting to want your ideas immediately implemented, it would be good for you to have all of your materials and content ready.

MVP Mobile App Dev for Pet Marketplace Startup
"The whole team is brilliant, and they know what they’re doing at a fast pace."

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I'm the CEO and co-founder of a pets marketplace startup. We’re located in Miami.
What business challenge were you trying to address with 7EDGE?
We hired 7EDGE to help us develop our MVP mobile application for delivering pet services.
What was the scope of their involvement?
7EDGE has developed our mobile application for iOS and Android. It’s a native two-sided market app that connects pet owners with the best pet service providers within location and proximity, which might include pet pooper scooper, pet feeders, groomers, dog trainers, and more. They’ve designed the UX/UI and screen and worked on the codes and programming. They’ve also connected our backend to the servers using AWS.
The app has several features. For example, it has user authentication to log in through other social media platforms and a chat within so people can see the users’ and partners’ phone numbers. Also, any user can look up the service provider’s profile, see their photo and descriptions, and provide feedback through the app. This is the most important feature of our MVP.
7EDGE has also developed a push notification that triggers a message to the service provider once the order is placed. There’s also a feature that tracks the status of each service so that users are well-informed of every step of the order.
What is the team composition?
The project manager is our main contact. We’ve worked with the developers — one for Android and another for iOS. They also have a designer for the UX/UI and screens and another person on the panel to manage the application.
How did you come to work with 7EDGE?
We did an assessment and found different companies in South America, the US, Europe, and India. We defined different elements, ranked them, and assigned each score a point. Ultimately, we agreed that 7EDGE was the most convenient for us in terms of the technology, cost, and the proposal they’d sent to us. They were the winning company for us.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent around $25,000 on the first project. The second application will cost $60,000.
What is the status of the engagement?
We started working together in March 2020, and they still provide a maintenance and support team. We’re also planning to work on a second version of the app with them.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
One of the challenges we’ve faced with them is the customer experience. We spent more time than expected in this area, so we’ve gone back and forth with them. Once the app is released, 7EDGE will offer maintenance and support. However, the rest of the development has been great.
We’ve also made sure that they can deliver on deadline, what technology they’re using, and how the app can work without problems. There’s still room to improve the app, but it’s related to the customer experience.
How did 7EDGE perform from a project management standpoint?
Although we’ve followed up with them daily and weekly, there’s room for improvement in that regard. We didn't see any Microsoft project, Gantt chart, or Word document to show the progress. We’ve used our own charts to track the project timeline and activities to understand how far we’d come, when the deadline would be, and if we were on track.
We’ve used Slack for communication, shared documents, comments, and questions.
What did you find the most impressive about them?
We haven’t had any problem. They stand out for their coding and development knowledge. They’re also pretty good with technology — it’s one of the best in the market.
Overall, the whole team is brilliant, and they know what they’re doing at a fast pace. That’s great for us because they find an immediate solution whenever we have an issue.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Initially, one of the challenges we had with them was communication, but we’ve solved that. They also need to improve on the project management aspect by having tools to track their project.
Any advice for potential customers?
I’d recommend anyone looking for mobile app developers to work with 7EDGE.

We had a new idea for a portal application and we started building it with another company, but they weren’t able to do what we required and their company shut down. We were halfway there, and we didn’t know what to do, so we got in touch with 7EDGE. We gave our half-finished product to them.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We gave 7EDGE a brief for how we wanted to build this particular application, and they immediately suggested that we move the platform to Ruby on Rails. It’s a more modern language and they have very skilled Ruby on Rails developers. It’s also a very scalable tool.
We had a briefing session with them—attended by one project manager and 2–3 engineers—to tell them about our project and end goal. They gave their input, first suggesting a framework and explaining how the pages would look on it and other variables. 7EDGE also established a roadmap of five to six months for building the application. It was a bit complex and we were trying to solve a big problem, especially in the Indian market.
The application was a bit complex. It’s basically a media buying and selling platform and we also integrated a calendar. Media sellers have different media spaces, up to 10, all of them integrated with a calendar with which they can choose a particular time and make online payments. If one of their media slots is booked, the other nine slots will show as open.
There’s a little complexity within the booking system, as well as with the online payment system, and with the online invoice generating system. There are many online elements that have to be compliant and to make the process effortless for the buyers and sellers.
What is the team composition?
We worked with Sajith (Solution Architect and Technology Consultant, 7EDGE), and we had two engineers on the team. We initially went to meet them in-person. We had some initial dates during which we also had to explain a lot of things to them and make sure they understood. Then, we had regular calls once a week, to review the progress and see whether they had any doubts. Our communication went well.
How did you come to work with 7EDGE?
We initially did a Google search and settled for the largest company we found. After that engagement failed, we were conscious of the fact we’d already spent a lot of money and had a half-built product. We had to be more cautious about who was going to do our product. We went to a couple of references and found out about 7EDGE from someone whom I believe used to work with them.
We had a good meeting with them. Ashu (Principal Consultant, 7EDGE) was there and helped us build a roadmap of how the whole thing would work—how we’d start and how we’d close, and how we could improve the platform. That helped us a lot in setting our goals and getting inputs.
How much have you invested with them?
The final cost was 16–17 lakh Indian rupees (about $23,000 USD), including the changes the requested.
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked with 7EDGE from February—August 2018.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The final project turned out really well. We thought it’d be really complex, and there were a couple of things we couldn’t pull off, but we’re really happy with the app. It was just what we wanted. There are a lot of complex calculations internal to the app. It needs a lot of brains to come up with the right numbers. I believe we were finally able to get everything right.
How did 7EDGE perform from a project management standpoint?
Initially, we had in-person meetings with them for about a month. We opted to meet face-to-face at least once a week. This way, they’d get to know what we actually wanted, and, based on that, give us a framework of what the thing would look like and how we were going to build it. After that, we moved on to video calls.
We were regularly in touch with the engineers and we had daily meetings to discuss what had happened throughout the day, along with any issues or concerns we may have had. As the project got nearer to closure, the communication went down to once or twice per week.
They were really good and we liked how they dealt with things. There were a lot of changes made on the run, and they accommodated all of them. It was time-consuming and difficult for them to get things to where we wanted. Fortunately, their two developers helped us a lot to move things faster.
The project manager handled things very well and I never had much of an issue. When things got complex, Sajith was always there, helping us move the project forward.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They have really experienced developers. I specifically appreciated one of their developers’ ability to take an idea from my mind and put it into action. He understood what we actually wanted. As a company, they’re always helpful and ready to check in on us and our needs. They deliver what we want.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I was totally satisfied. Improvements are always there, but I can’t think of any right now.
Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?
I would definitely recommend working with 7EDGE, from a commitment, skill, and project management standpoint. I’ve worked with other companies previously, and they couldn’t deliver, so I’m more than happy to recommend these guys.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I work as the business head for the Vikram Sarabhai Science Foundation, which primarily focuses on inculcating science literacy within the student community. We’re based in Kochi, a small southern state in India. In our country, students study science only in grades 8–12. We plan to create science literacy within the student community, from the elementary stage onward.
What challenge were you trying to address with 7EDGE?
We hired them for Campus Field, our associate company. The intent was to work with the teaching community, which is ignored at times. I’ve worked quite a few years in the UK and Africa and always found that even truck drivers take pride in their jobs. When it comes to the teaching community in India, they don’t display that pride. Campus Field’s goal is to ensure that the teachers were provided the right training, recruitment, and consulting facilities through a web portal.
What was the scope of their involvement?
The project was for developing an online portal for the consulting, training, and recruitment of teachers. The consulting part will be built in phase two. We tested the platform with another team, and 7EDGE fixed any bugs we encountered. In the end, they gave us the finished product.
What is the team composition?
I worked with Ashu (Principal Consultant, 7EDGE) and his technical head.
How did you come to work with 7EDGE?
One of my colleagues at a different company worked with 7EDGE previously. He told me that they were a young team that wanted to make a difference. I met with their director and technical head, where we discussed what our needs were.
How much have you invested with them?
The project cost between 10–12 lakh Indian rupees (approximately $13,900–$16,800 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with 7EDGE toward the end of 2014, and the platform launched in March 2016.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Having a clear timeline and reporting structure, we found that 7EDGE gave us much more than we asked for. We gave their team a year to complete the task, but they finished within 8–9 months. After 3–4 months, we jumped into an iterative process with them.
What I appreciated about them is that they were open to fixing any bugs or making improvements after the development period ended. 7EDGE was receptive to our suggestions, providing the required output. There was little hassle from our end.
How did 7EDGE perform from a project management standpoint?
They were exceptionally good at project management.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I tend to make a lot of comparisons between 7EDGE and a local agency we’ve worked with. I’ve asked that other agency to learn from 7EDGE. From an output standpoint, 7EDGE is truly amazing. I can call and speak directly to their team. They’re happy to help. To date, I haven’t received a single complaint from my team about 7EDGE.
Are there any areas they could improve?
There are some improvements to make that would help users receive consultations from us. We’ve only addressed the recruitment and training parts of our vertical. Consultancy is something we decided to take up on a later stage, and we plan to discuss it with 7EDGE.
Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?
7EDGE is fairly accurate in terms of resources, and they were able to deliver ahead of time. Each time I visited their office, their team was receptive and work on a clear network. They were transparent about the process and completion of tasks. If there were any doubts, they didn’t hesitate.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the founder of Hop Financial Solutions, a fintech startup that works in the domain of providing an inexpensive and straightforward process for people to exchange foreign money during travel.
What challenge were you trying to address with 7EDGE?
We were trying to build an MVP that would go to the market relatively quickly.
What was the scope of their involvement?
7EDGE took me through the entire process of developing the B2C product. Their team was involved in the idea stage, creating a clickable prototype, getting commercials in place, designing and developing a high-level architecture diagram, and figuring out technical requirements.
Since we’re in a regulated industry, there was a digital onboarding process for the client where various documents needed to be verified and an account needs to be created. There is also functionality for multiple payment gateways required for payment and the exchange of the money. We were trying to integrate different technologies for different modules depending on the latency we wanted. Their team used Node.js, JavaScript, Angular, React, and MongoDB.
What is the team composition?
At the peak of the development, there were 5–8 people working on the project. We worked with a few senior-level architecture people, and then the backend team became involved. Halfway through the engagement, the frontend developers came aboard. Our main point of contact was the principal consultant.
How did you come to work with 7EDGE?
I’d known and been in touch with them for a while. I liked the way their team worked, so I reached out to 7EDGE. Initially, a friend recommended them to me.
How much have you invested in them?
We’ve spent between $20,000–$25,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked with 7EDGE from September 2018–April 2019.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
7EDGE was professional in their approach, developing the MVP smoothly. They were quite critical in getting the project off the ground. It’s been working well, and the stability of the database has been excellent. We’ve hired some people internally to look at the MVP. They’ve told us it’s robust and that it can be developed further because it needs no changes.
How did 7EDGE perform from a project management standpoint?
Our main point of contact did the job well. As with any project, there was some back and forth. 7EDGE was helpful in letting us understand why things were done a certain way. Jira and Confluence were our project management tools.
What did you find most impressive about them?
We were happy with what 7EDGE delivered. They got the job done without any complaints. When we wanted to make changes, their team was understanding and flexible.
Are there any areas they could improve?
There was a slight language barrier while working with a couple of team members. It wasn’t a deterrent, but they could improve in that area.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Make sure the requirements are clear; this allows the process to be smoother at a later stage.
The competitive and hardworking team at 7EDGE did a great job developing a user-friendly and streamlined app for the client, ultimately delivering the product they promised. They were communicative and easy to work with and provided accurate estimates. Additionally, their designers were talented.
