In-Data Labs handled end-to-end delivery. We started with Discovery (requirements, architecture, and high-fidelity UI/UX). Then they built a web MVP: provider/patient/organization management, intake forms, exercise library, program creation and sessions, notes/appointments, org branding, invitation flows, and LLM-guided prompts.
We’re now in Phase 2, expanding functionality (email notifications, AI-powered exercise library, RAG-based knowledge base, patient-provider messaging with text-to-speech, reusable program templates, AI-driven recommendations, visual progress tracking, payment integration, subscription management, gamified engagement, UI/UX updates) and developing the patient iOS app (chat, sessions, appointments, profile, settings, program status and information, text-to-speech).

We’re a publicly traded global manufacturing company that specializes in systems that move water and fuel. We manufacture motors, pumps, controls, and electronics. We serve a lot of different end markets, including residential, commercial, industrial, municipal, and mining.

I’m the director of market development and strategy for the water division.

We needed help accelerating our predictive forecasting development. We were pioneering new capabilities at our company with AI and ML forecasting. Rather than learning a lot of that on our own through trial and error, we partnered with InData Labs to help us accelerate our goals.

We’re satisfied with InData Labs’ agility and flexibility in meeting us where we are and helping us plan what’s next. Overall, they've met our expectations.

InData Labs has stayed on budget and met deadlines. They’ve done a good job managing the project, even though there’s some ambiguity in where we’re going. We typically communicate via Google Meet.

What did you find most impressive about them?

InData Labs has a deep bench of people with the experience we need. They’re very instructive and help us professionally develop our side, too. Their consultation isn’t just about doing the work; they also teach us how to do it, which we really appreciate.

Are there any areas they could improve?

InData Labs could be more efficient when it comes to project proposals. They could also use their time better when we’re on planning calls. It would be helpful if they had more paint thrown on the wall ahead of the calls for the client to react to.

Be prepared and provide the necessary context and discovery upfront. InData Labs has a lot of general business experience, but every client has unique aspects of their business model. The better they understand your particular business, the better support they’ll give you.

The project consists of improving our tool to analyse customer data and classify users by gender. The analysis can support activities to reduce the gender gap in the Mobile Money industry by offering specific services for target audiences. The deliverables consisted of improvements in our classification engines, modularisation of the system architecture, and principally, the creation of a new interface with high usability and user experience, providing the best statistics around the analysed data.

The manager was very friendly. We had a business analyst in direct contact with us, as well as the dev team. They embraced the project as their own and many times they suggested improvements or ideas for new features. All the deliveries were done on time. We had small changes in the deliverables strategy during the project to adapt internal changes in the team, but in the end, they delivered all the initial requirements. All the needs were attended to successfully.

The engagement with the project and the friendliness. They were like part of my team, I had the confidence to reach any of the team members at any time. It was as if we were working in the same physical environment. This is not easy in the remote work scenarios we face nowadays.

I would say that all the tasks were accomplished as expected. If I would need to suggest an improvement it would be to start the UAT before to avoid intense work at the last moment.

Then, InData Labs created a schematic to show us how the platform would function. Once we approved the schematic, the team moved to the development stage and started building the platform. 

The platform can amalgamate information from various data sources, allowing us to perform data analytics on a unified information set. The web application lives on a server, and the team integrated it with our website, so we can pull information from the platform to showcase on our site.

We haven’t launched the platform yet, but we’ve been delighted with the initial results. 

We’re currently going through beta testing, and InData Labs has immediately notified us of any crashes. They’ve been very proactive partners.

InData Labs is the best project management partner I’ve ever worked with. They’re very thorough and are good at explaining their work to us in a digestible way since we’re not tech savvy. They constantly ask questions rather than assuming what we want, which has been excellent. 

During the development stage, we had weekly calls, and they kept in constant contact through email to update us on progress throughout various stages as they did the build. We also used Slack to communicate and another project management tool to keep track of tasks.

We hired InData Labs to develop a custom Ai system. We were in need of a team capable of Full Stack development with a high-level of expertise in Data Science who had the abilities to execute our vision.

While interviewing over two dozen companies worldwide, InData Labs immediately stood out from the very beginning of the process. We were looking for a team with professionalism, extensive knowledge in ML, a positive track record, great communication and an excitement for undertaking a project like ours.

Thanks to our team at InData Labs, we were able to quickly correct all issues/bugs from our previous developers, while implementing a custom algorithm for our most pertinent feature of our app, artificial intelligence. They turned our app around from unusable to outstanding and marketable in a matter of months.

The team we currently have has taken on our project as if it were their own. While we have weekly meetings, they are able to execute our requests/features/visions with minimal management from our end. InData impressed us most with their vast knowledge and expertise in Data Science. Not only is the team is fully capable of delivering what we want, but they also deliver in a timely manner.

I’m a project manager for the business development department of a logistics & supply chain company.

What challenge were you trying to address with InData Labs?

We needed someone to provide consulting and custom software development services.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

The main goal of InData Labs was to help us predict the price of the freight rates of our inspection and management system. We wanted the solution to enable us to collect historical data so that we could come up with fair trade prices. The solution would be a backup service within our platform, so no design was needed in this project.

As a result, we had a short discovery phase where we shared our datasets and ideas with InData Labs. They then examined our data to determine if the datasets we had were appropriate for extracting useful knowledge for data mining. Subsequently, they used boosted decision trees, a machine learning (ML) technique to build an approximate model of the software. Once we tested it for potential, they proceeded to build our software.

I primarily worked with their project manager, but we also collaborated with their two data scientists.

My colleague recommended them to me. InData Labs had done a project for another department of our company, which had a positive outcome.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We had a simple algorithm system with 3–4 parameters prior to this engagement. When we compared the metrics of the new system with the old one, we got better results with the new one. The increased quality of the data results we received dramatically improved our metrics. Overall, we were quite satisfied with InData Labs’ services.

How did InData Labs perform from a project management standpoint?

InData Labs did an excellent job; they finished our project within the deadline. We also discussed updates and synchronized weekly through Google Meet and Zoom.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their competitiveness in the field of data science impressed us. More importantly, we learned many things from them.

We needed a company that could provide us with data science services.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

InData Labs provided us with data scientist engineers to create an anti-fraud solution within our company. For this project, we used machine learning and data science approaches separately. We integrated these technologies into our tracking engine, so they used our platform and did everything remotely.

We also used them to implement the algorithms. For this stage, InData Labs also did research to improve those algorithms. Then, they joined us in the prototyping stage.

We worked with three data scientist engineers and a project manager.

InData Labs was initially recommended to us. We had worked on a project with them before and were satisfied, so we hired them again.

I’m the CEO of SCI 360, a Salesforce consulting partner and developer.

What challenge were you trying to address with InData Labs?

We were creating an application to present in the Salesforce AppExchange.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We outsourced part of our Salesforce app’s development work to InData Labs due to their expertise. Essentially, we built the app from scratch in a very collaborative effort based on user stories and use cases that we put together. 

I initially provided them with the designs, but they provided us with feedback and consultation, assisting us in refining the overall design specifications. They wrote the app in Python and built it in Django.

Now, I’ll be having them continue doing iterations thanks to their great work, and I have other revisions that I want them to make.

What is the team composition?

We’ve worked directly with four people from InData Labs. During the development, Pavel (Software Engineer) was our project manager, and we also worked with an AI specialist, a programmer, and a QC person. However, I’m not sure how many more people have worked on our project behind the scenes.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

I was seeking someone with great experience in the programming language that we were using, and InData Labs completely filled the gap. Their overall engagement process, while being on a very direct path, has remained agile. They make the adjustments necessary for us as we come across roadblocks and additional requirements.

Now, we will be looking at our ROI and our users’ general feedback to measure the impact of their work.

How did InData Labs perform from a project management standpoint?

InData Labs performs very well. We always know where we stand, and we have weekly calls. Additionally, Pavel has done a tremendous job keeping the development course and speed. I’m very pleased with their work.

We communicate through multiple channels, including phone calls, scheduled meetings on Google Meet, and Slack messages. They also share their Jira platform with us.

What did you find most impressive about them?

InData Labs’ practice and discipline around Agile project management are impressive. In addition to that, their skillset and knowledge in the overall product that they produce, as well as their expertise in optical character recognition (OCR) technology, are also impressive.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I have no complaints about InData Labs’ work. They’ve done a wonderful job across the board, and I’ve witnessed a work of art. I now use their work to exemplify what my in-house people should be doing.

InData labs worked on all phases of the Data Science life cycle, including scope definition, EDA, feature engineering, modeling, testing, performance tuning, and deployment. They worked closely with our Data Science and Engineering teams.

There were three people, including Project Manager, Lead Data Scientist, and a Middle-level Data Scientist.

Thanks to the algorithm developed by InData Labs, we improved prediction accuracy.

The project was managed in accordance with our needs. We used Jira and Slack for communication. InData Labs team made every effort to make sure they understand our needs, and address them.

I am impressed with the breadth and depth of their data science expertise, combined with excellent implementation and engineering competency. Their Lead Data Scientist demonstrated outstanding customer focus, communication skills, great understanding of our business, and provided valuable insights into our data.

I am a project manager at an image capture company. We have an automated system designed to streamline the product imaging process for customers.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with InData Labs?

There is part of our process that handles images and performs certain tasks on the images. Right now, it is done in more of a manual fashion. In order to speed up that process and save money, we wanted to automate that. We started to look around for a big data company that could build a system that could automate that process.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

The deliverables were first the documentation which was really thorough. We got an insight into exactly how we could work with the product in the future. We brought in a developer to work on that.

As far as the project itself, it was very well done. They used AWS. We first had kind of a prototype phase where InData would give us a base working-level system that we could kind of play with which was like an MVP. It had the base level requirements that we needed. We could tweak things and see what was working and what was not. We gave feedback based on that and they would clean it up from there.

That was the first deliverable and after several phases of tweaks, we brought that into our system. They gave us the code and worked with our in-house developer to integrate that into our existing system. They were with us every step of the way giving us feedback, working with our developers and they were really good in that respect.

We kind of have a roadmap that hasn’t always been concrete. We know what we want but InData has helped us if we had any uncertainty of how best to go about a particular thing when we knew what we wanted but we didn’t know how exactly that would look.

They were very professional and used their experience to guide us through that gray area so we could get a better idea of how this would look based on a solution that they could provide. That was really helpful in that regard. We are a small company with less than 20 people, so a lot of these things are unknown to us. They had the knowledge to guide us in places that we had no experience.

What is the team composition?

We have had several phases of this project going back to the middle of last year. From that point until now, we have had some breaks in between funding that we needed to build up and also because we needed to flush out requirements for each phase of that project.

Each phase, because of those time separations, InData couldn’t give us the same team throughout that. Obviously, they had to resource those people when they are not being used.  We worked with probably 12 people within the organization. We have had three phases of the project and had three teams from the frontend and backend developers, two project managers, a business analyst, and the finance department who dealt with the billing.

How did you come to work with InData Labs?

We came across InData and we had several phases of an interview process. We had shortlisted three companies. We found that InData ticked all the boxes as far as their experience with machine learning and AI, and their understanding of what we needed as far as taking our needs, automating them, and putting those pieces together.

They had some experience in this area, and they were broader in the work that they had done, specifically for what we were doing, so we felt comfortable going with them which is how we kicked things off. We really wanted someone who could really dive in and do it right the first time.

We started working with them in July 2019, and the project is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

From a technical standpoint, we would look at the prototype portal and measure things based on the number of images we were processing and look at some categories of faults that we were finding with how things were being processed, and we would look at the success versus failure rate and base things on whether we were improving or not.

With machine learning, you have to feed tens of thousands of images into a system and get it to learn and improve. A lot of the metrics we were getting were based on what we were feeding in and how correct things were, versus the failures we were getting in the system and iterating on that.

How did InData Labs perform from a project management standpoint?

We followed a sprint approach where we would follow up every week. We would have a weekly meeting with the project manager and their developers to see what was done and what would be done in the following sprint, as well as to look at issues and clear up any questions and things. Those were the metrics as far as project progress.

We didn’t have the usual sort of deadlines. We were more based on sprints. We would look at tackling certain things for each week, but as far as a high level and finishing things by a certain date it wasn’t done because there were a lot of unknowns in this project.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I would say their communication is great. They were responsive to our questions and were knowledgeable when we didn’t have a good idea of how best to proceed. They had several options in place and the consequences of those options, the pros, and cons as well as estimates of cost and time of what would be involved. I think that is a strong suit of theirs.

Also, just the quality of their work is great. They thought of things that we didn’t even think of and would give us some heads up as to what might happen and what we should try. They were good about anticipating potential issues early on so that we could address them before they became bigger.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No. The work and their expertise are top-notch, and I would highly recommend them.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I would say that just like any project, you need to really dive into your requirements early on and get a good feel for where you are going, and if that is a little gray or if you are unsure about how things need to be flushed out on a particular project, InData is very good about helping with that roadmap and helping you understand how things can be developed to build on the strength of their team and their expertise.

They are really good at leveraging their experts and their tech staff. For our system especially, going from a manual system to an automated system, we didn’t know a lot of things that we needed to know, they were able to help us leverage our product to the best that it could be.
