      What was most unexpected and impressive though, turned out to be the openness to pitch in with innovative creative ideas based on what they learned during research and discovery about Doberman's personality and aspirations. An example is that Doberman identified a print half tone/dot matrix type aesthetic as something we liked - BUT, we recognized that we produce content for television, not for print. Massive came up with a solution that felt in the spirit of what we loved about the print aesthetic but was geared towards TV - tube TV square pixels.

      In particular, I was impressed by both the exceptional pricing of the project and the speed of completion. Regarding the cost quote, I admired the fact that they were completely honest with me about how many hours the work would take, especially when one of their competitors gave me an estimate that was literally six times greater for the same project. The other dev shops assumed that I didn’t know anything about the work involved, and OPTASY never treated me like that.

      I loved the way in which Myplanet approached the development. They are an Agile company, which can be an uncomfortable thing for an organization which isn't used to it. Working with Myplanet was an easy and pleasant experience. We never felt uncomfortable, and they appreciated that we could make quick decisions because of the work we'd done previously. It was a mutually-pleasant experience with little friction, even though releasing a website can be a high-pressure engagement.

      We were following an agile methodology in which we were iterating quickly with the client and they were iterating with their end-users as well. The ability to go from ideation to showing a product to their end-users in a matter of two months was really critical in getting users on board and building excitement about the launch of the project. Idea Theorem was willing to understand the challenges of the client rather than just looking at the specific budget and quantity of the work. Be upfront in terms of your vision, and don’t be too rigid in the contract that you scope out with them. If you show flexibility in understanding the constraints of both your and their side of the work, the relationship can really go far.
