Please describe your company and your position there.

We are one of the leading manufacturer, importer and distributor of packaging materials and machinery based in Canada and I am the VP of administrations and operations of this company. We provide complete pacakging solutions to industry and customer satisfaction is our motto. Our aim is to offer most efficient, cost-effective solutions to pack and transport your goods. We currently serve clients across UK, Australia, USA, Canada, South Africa, Ireland, New Zealand, Germany, France, Peru, Chile & Brazil.

For what projects/services did your company hire Stridely Solutions?

Before we deployed SAP B1 to our system, our existing software was about to get expired wherein it was no longer supporting to our business. The solution was no longer capable of completing key tasks and the one that could interrupt daily processes if it failed. Not only this the solution did not provide integration to the data warehouse - giving no visible results into our existing stock levels.

So, we evaluated SAP Business One, Sage Line 200 and NetSuite to best fit our growing business. Also comparing the finance/ERP system for the SME market, SAP B1 stood out amongst all. And for SAP B1 implementation, there is not other better option than Stridely.

What were your goals for this project?

A clear visibility to our stocks along with the key financial and profit information in real-time without the need of manual co-ordination and excess spreadsheets.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

Stridely was recommended to us in one of the business meetups at Florida, by one of our owner's friend. We called them and checked some of their work references and found it was all good. We then laid out our plans and then we decided to start a long-term collaboration.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

Stridely developed a wholesale and distribution solution that simplified the overall process. Definitely, spreadsheets are no longer required by our line managers, in fact the timely information helps our staff to stay up-to-date with the market prices and the insights to allows decision makers to maximize buying power.

Moreover, Stridely also implemented B1 Surfer Enterprise for the field base sales representatives and transport teams. This has reduced the number of calls to offices from the field representatives and also provides instant access to centralized data on customer records and the ability to process new opportunities and sales quotes remotely and also check stock levels.

What was the team composition?

Project Manager was the main point of contact, though we had several dedicated resources. The number varied depending on the stage of the project.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

We have maximized the buying power by 10x and also the B1 surfer enterprise solution has reduced the monetary costs by 30%. And not to miss we can now instantly access to the financial and productivity reports.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Stridely shared daily status updates, task timelines through email and any additional communication was taken care of over skype calls. We've developed a good rapport with many people from their company. They were extremely accessible and we never felt like we were working overseas. If I need to talk to someone, I can count them to be available.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They are both casual and a lot more professional. We've established the long term friendships that go beyond IT support!

Are there any areas for improvement?

No, Stridely performed great job of managing the project. They line up the right resources to deliver. And I am certainly happy to recommend them to anyone who is looking for the work they have done for me!

Developed in pure HTML and managed by IT staff, our legacy intranet had become cumbersome to maintain, update, and extend. The frequent outages and maintenance delays were resulting in poor performance and low user engagement. In addition, the servers were approaching the end of their service lives, increasing their costs and making them less stable and reliable. We hired Stridely to help standardize the IT infrastructure into the Microsoft environment.

We had three primary goals: consolidate the corporate portal, improve internal communication, and unify the employees from various offices and departments.

Their business development manager contacted our CEO via LinkedIn. While reviewing their corporate PowerPoint presentations and portfolio, I noticed that Stridely was a Microsoft Gold certified partner. I had several discussions with the manager to outline the engagement, and we were able to finalize the contract on their visit to Kenya.

I am not sure how many individuals were responsible for the coding, but we did have a project manager as a main point of contact. He supervised the team and provided us with routine updates.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Stridely’s detailed layout became integral to the intranet’s development plan. Centralizing the documentation facilitated seamless cross-departmental interaction within the first month after deployment. The improved accessibility to highly personalized content, applications, and more has increased reliability, productivity, and uptime while virtually eliminating slowdowns and bottlenecks. The system is user friendly, promotes smarter decisions, and keeps our IT overhead low. 

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Using a variety of communication channels, such as email and daily calls, fostered uninterrupted collaboration and allowed all parties to stay on track with the analysis process. Our project manager made the data maintenance process very transparent and met with us regularly. We had also clearly established our objectives, which helped them consistently achieve their milestones on schedule or even earlier.

It included entire end to end workflow where we can execute the orders in the shortest span possible, featuring from order inception to the payment options. Because we are having 100 offices worldwide, we also needed the solution into the required date/time, currency and language variations. Moreover, the solution had to integrate the company's current user account system.

A versatile solution that is quickly deployed with robust reporting capabilities while allowing ease of use for outstanding customer service and adaptable to consume data from multiple internal systems, including Microsoft CRM, Dynamics AX.

How did you select this vendor?

We found Stridely Solutions through an online search of local agencies in Kenya. My team explored their website and had some exploratory conversations with them. Having seen their huge portfolio, we hit it off really well and it was a nice validation that they seeked to embark on our journey.

Stridely was able to bring the solution with ease having a standardize look and feel across the site using common site templates for data sharing and collaboration. They used SharePoint online to deliver key requirements of the project that provided both ease of data entry and workflow, with the scalability and flexibility to support changing business requirements over time.

What was the team composition?

There was a team of 10 that included a scrum master, automation QA engineers, frontend and backend developers.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

The success was in the ability of the solution that quickly rolled out and is scalable across the underlying online service. We were able to launch the service with scale, provided integration across a wide range of supporting tools, and easily report on workflow activities. Alongside the system provided the robust access and data met the data security standards.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Excellent. They communicated on daily basis for each day's status and updates through emails. However, we used to have weekly calls, they were quick to explain on how the project was processing. If we were in need anything to be delivered faster, they were flexible and also assigned more resources to the project. Overall, they were easy to work with.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their level of knowledge and range of development skills. The investment that their employees made in understanding our business was very impressive. They were constantly asking questions to understand the concepts to deliver the best possible product. Moreover, they also came up with their own solutions and offered a lot of suggestions to improve our solutions in much better way. We were benefited from their pool of knowledge.
