A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m a director of marketing and business development at a law firm.
What challenge were you trying to address with Cubicle Fugitive?
We needed to completely rebrand our company. We wanted a new website, logo, color scheme, and other design assets.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We gave Cubicle a document detailing who we are and what our clients say about us. They performed additional research and involved us in the process. After that, they designed and developed our new website from scratch. Additionally, they helped us write the content.
In addition, they did the design for our new logo. They also supported us in creating a new marketing campaign for print and social media.
What is the team composition?
I worked with Morgan (CEO), Kalvin (Technology Executive), a developer, and some other design resources.
How did you come to work with Cubicle Fugitive?
We put out an RFP.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent $150,000 CAD (approximately $118,000 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
Our partnership lasted from August–November 2021.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Our internal stakeholders are very happy with the end result of our partnership, and our website has received positive feedback.
How did Cubicle Fugitive perform from a project management standpoint?
Cubicle was amazing at project management. They put together a detailed schedule and project plan, and they communicated with us constantly. They let us know well in advance if they wouldn’t hit a milestone. They constantly met their deadlines.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Cubicle went above and beyond in helping our team succeed. I was new to our company and industry, but they provided me with so much information and research, even though it wasn’t part of our partnership.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I can’t think of anything.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Continuously communicate with them — they’re really good at listening. Don’t be afraid to bring in your big-picture goals, and they can also bring great ideas to the table.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am the managing director at a litigation boutique firm in Canada composed of 12 lawyers and eight staff members. We focus on commercial litigation.
What challenge were you trying to address with Cubicle Fugitive?
Our previous website was old-fashioned, and we wanted a more progressive website, not just in the navigation but also in the design.
We do a lot of work in French, and we wanted a company that could ensure the French side of our website would be a completely separate website.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Cubicle Fugitive developed our website in Sitefinity, which doesn’t require monthly maintenance and updates. They also did a lot of the content writing for the website — they interviewed our lawyers and turned them into comprehensive biographies for the website.
The Cubicle Fugitive also helped us completely rebrand and came up with a variety of branding materials for us, including a new logo, stationery, and business cards. They did an exceptional job referring us to a firm that could develop our website in French as well — they were involved in every step of that development process as well.
What is the team composition?
We worked with 4–5 teammates from Cubicle Fugitive, including Katie (Provocateur, Strategy), Morgan (Owner), and Kelvin (Quarterback, Technology). Every so often, we also had contact with the website developer.
How did you come to work with Cubicle Fugitive?
We had talks with Cubicle Fugitive and a few other firms. The other firms were more laid back and didn’t have a comprehensive plan — those agencies were more focused on expanding on a schedule as they developed the website. However, Cubicle Fugitive was amazing to work with. In the initial meeting, we were impressed with how thorough they were — they spent 45 minutes discussing the development process. They seemed to be organized and planned precisely how the process would work.
They also offered several extra services that the other agencies did not provide. We didn’t have the time to write content, so it was great that Cubicle Fugitive could do more than only web development.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent approximately $50,000–$54,000 CAD (approximately $40,000–43,000 USD) with Cubicle Fugitive. They initially quoted us between $38,000–$42,000 CAD (approximately $30,000–$33,000 USD), but we added some services that increased the final price.
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked with Cubicle Fugitive from May 2020–April 2021.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Both the French and English versions of our website are quite nice. Our Google reports are very positive — we’re getting a lot of traction with our new website, and we have a lot more hits on our website than before.
The legal community in Ottawa and Toronto has given us tremendous feedback; they love the progressive look of the website and our project area descriptions.
How did Cubicle Fugitive perform from a project management standpoint?
I was surprised at how great Cubicle Fugitive’s project management was. They communicated with us every week, and every time we forgot to provide them with the information they needed, Cubicle Fugitive pushed us, which I appreciated.
The project management was much better with Cubicle Fugitive than with other companies we’ve worked with, who would let things fall through. Cubicle Fugitive always delivered promptly — we aimed for a website launch for March 30, 2021, and they rolled it out by April 9, 2021.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Cubicle Fugitive was amazing to work with, and we knew it from the beginning of the engagement. It’s hard to pick one thing I most appreciated, but I liked that they were very forward-thinking and creative in their approach.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I can’t think of anything.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
I would tell potential customers to be responsive to requests from Cubicle Fugitive. If customers aren’t responsive, it will slow them down, which isn’t fair to them.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
We’re a commercial litigation law firm, and I’m the director of operations.
What challenge were you trying to address with Cubicle Fugitive?
Our site was already established and well-known in the legal community. We were looking for a new, creative design from them.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We were looking to build a fresh, new website that accurately reflected our image and brand. They were responsible for collaborating with us on initial design concepts, all the way through to the final launch of the website. While we had an existing site, they completely redesigned and rebuilt the platform. We’ve engaged with them on marketing and social media projects since as well.
What is the team composition?
We worked closely with Kalvin (Co-Owner & Quarterback) and Morgan (Co-Owner & Ringmaster). Aside from them, we worked with about six people in total.
How did you come to work with Cubicle Fugitive?
When we were searching for a partner, they were highly recognized as a top firm in our area. We met with a few organizations but decided that they would be best in helping us build our vision.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started the project in the spring of 2017 and launched the final site in November 2018. A few delays on our end caused the project to last a little longer than we were planning.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
They collaborated to deliver a site that truly reflected our group. We were very happy with their work. The process was very collaborative, and we enjoyed their responsiveness during conceptualizing the final platform. They took our visions for the site and ran with them, which was phenomenal.
The feedback we receive has been very positive. They continue to impress stakeholders by updating animations on a quarterly basis. The site is unlike any other platform for a law firm.
How did Cubicle Fugitive perform from a project management standpoint?
Morgan oversees everything and managed the project well. We communicated through phone and email.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They’re skilled creatives that make collaboration fun and exciting. We enjoy coming up with ideas together and working with them.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, I can’t think of anything.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Spend the time upfront engaging with them on your company mission, goals, and identity. They’ll come ready to get to know your group, so you should communicate that information clearly to aid them in helping your business.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the director of operations at a boutique law firm specializing in construction law.
What challenge were you trying to address with Cubicle Fugitive?
We changed our company’s name and brought them on to help us with rebranding efforts.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They designed a logo, business cards, and PowerPoint presentation templates as well as built a new website. Their team also created advertisements that went out to publications to let the industry know we changed our name. Basically, they handled everything we needed to start using our new brand.
What is the team composition?
There were three consistent individuals we worked with. There were others who were in and out throughout the process.
How did you come to work with Cubicle Fugitive?
Our managing partner was referred to them by another lawyer. I had come across them at a conference I attend, so I was familiar with them as well.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve invested between $100,000–$250,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
The project lasted from June 2019–February 2020.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The entire engagement was great. I really liked the designs. The way our new website looks and flows is a major improvement from our last one. I didn’t realize how bad it was until I saw this better version. They gave several options for logos and worked with us to finalize one we liked.
How did Cubicle Fugitive perform from a project management standpoint?
They were good at project management. Their response time was great. If we needed help or anything changed, they responded quickly and provided ongoing support. I never had to wait for anything. They’re always available by email or phone to have a chat about any issues we didn’t understand.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I liked that they helped me learn more about web design, especially on how to make changes to our website myself. They did a training session to walk us through it.
Are there any areas they could improve?
It would have been nice if they provided us with a checklist of everything that needed to be done.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Go for it.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am the director of client communications at a mid-size law firm in Toronto, Canada.
What challenge were you trying to address with Cubicle Fugitive?
We had an old website that had not been updated in seven or eight years old. We wanted to rebrand the firm and rebuild our website.
What was the scope of their involvement?
It involved all of the backend website work, graphic design, and a significant amount of content creation. They also interviewed all of our lawyers to help redraft their bios. They helped us design the new logo and really drove the whole process forward. They kept us in line with best practices since our existing website was quite outdated, so we were happy to put ourselves into their hands to come up with a modern and contemporary website.
What is the team composition?
We worked with Morgan as team leader. She coordinated the workflow and dealt with larger issues. We had frequent interaction with the broader team as well.
We mostly communicated through email and phone calls, along with monthly meetings leading up to the launch.
How did you come to work with Cubicle Fugitive?
Cubicle was and continues to be quite active in the Canadian legal market, so we knew of them through that. Then we entered into an informal RFP process. We met with three different companies and, after checking references and meeting the team, we ended up choosing them.
What is the status of this engagement?
We launched the site in June 2017. Cubicle Fugitive continues to do large backend changes, as well as security upgrades. They also host the site for us. If there’s anything that we can't do ourselves, we certainly go to them.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We noticed a significant increase in web traffic after the launch and, anecdotally we've received a lot of positive feedback. The website also won an award at the Legal Marketing Association conference.
How did Cubicle Fugitive perform from a project management standpoint?
For the most part, it was good. There are a lot of moving pieces in a project like this, and there were times when they were engaged in multiple other projects, which means that their responsiveness suffered at times, but in the end, we launched the site on schedule.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They were able to make what can be a very stressful process as easy as it can be. They always came at issues with a good sense of humor and that certainly helps to lighten the load. They were creative and they, for the most part, met their deadlines. They also provided a good value in terms of the cost effectiveness of their services.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Some of their responsiveness could have been improved.

I'm the director of marketing and business development at Torkin Manes LLP, a mid-sized business law firm located in Toronto that serves entrepreneurial clients in the mid-markets.
What challenge were you trying to address with Cubicle Fugitive?
We needed help with our website and some ad designs.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Cubicle Fugitive strengthens our brand by working on our advertising efforts, website, and other publications. They make sure we’re consistent and that our messaging targets the types of clients we’re looking for. Their ad projects range from general firm advertising to spreading the word when one of our lawyers wins an award.
In addition, Cubicle Fugitive designed the newsletter we send out as well as our Doing Business in Canada reports. They also produce all of our marketing collateral, such as lawyer profiles.
They built our site about four years ago and are now redoing it, adding features like the ability to print lawyer bios or post them to our site. We’ve developed a content marketing strategy together that they help implement.
What is the team composition?
We mainly interface with our account manager, but there are three other points of contact.
How did you come to work with Cubicle Fugitive?
We looked into three companies, and Cubicle Fugitive had the best proposal, so we hired them.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent between $50,000–$75,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We partnered in 2014, and the work is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Our website is much more efficient and user-friendly than before. People are impressed with the new design, and it’s given us lots of credibility within our field. The platform it’s on is intuitive and easy to use, which we greatly appreciate.
How did Cubicle Fugitive perform from a project management standpoint?
They’re incredibly organized and monitor where we are and what we need to do to reach our goals. They keep us on track and have excellent project management. The employees are all highly skilled, and there seems to be very little turnover.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The whole team understands the legal industry, allowing them to give insightful advice on how we could best present ourselves to the public. Unlike other firms, they make us feel important by being highly responsive and quickly fixing any issues. They’re incredibly professional and bring value to our meetings, making them a trusted advisor.

No. We're happy with their quick and high-quality work.
Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am the director of marketing and client development at Cunningham Bounds, a plaintiff's law firm.
What challenge were you trying to address with Cubicle Fugitive?
We decided that we needed a new website for the firm. We wanted to brand ourselves in a better way, and we required outside assistance to figure out how to do that.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Their project manager interviewed key partners of our firm and put together a proposal of how we should present ourselves to our clients based on the results. The partners agreed with their assessment, and we decided to move forward.
Cubicle Fugitive redesigned our website and transferred us to a Sitefinity CMS. During that process, they proposed a redesigned logo and a new color scheme, which we later adopted. They modernized our stationery, newsletter, and other materials with the new design. They also introduced our firm to Google Ads, but we have since dropped that service.
What is the team composition?
We worked with a senior web developer, a brand and marketing strategist, and a few other members of their team.
How did you come to work with Cubicle Fugitive?
We received proposals from several companies, and we selected three finalists to deliver presentations. We felt Cubicle Fugitive was the most capable and could serve us better for the long term.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our engagement began in September 2014, but they no longer oversee our website. We work with them as necessary for firm newsletters, print ads, and other projects.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Our website has received a lot of positive feedback from other firms, and we’ve fielded more calls from potential clients since we launched. We’re very proud of how the website represents us. It’s very user-friendly, and we can update it in-house.
How did Cubicle Fugitive perform from a project management standpoint?
Any delays in the project timeline were caused by our team, but Cubicle Fugitive kept the project moving. They were a great team to work with throughout the redesign. We had no issues communicating despite our different locations.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I appreciated their attention to detail and their drive to make sure we were represented correctly. They took ownership of the project and cared about how we were presented to the public.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, I can’t identify any areas for improvement.

We needed a website as well as collateral to use at trade shows and conventions.
What was the scope of their involvement?

I’d say that we worked with around 5 people. That included Morgan (Ringmaster) and Kalvin MacLeod (Quarterback).
