the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I'm the president of Innovative Sleep Technologies, a wholesale company that distributes bedroom products, such as mattresses, adjustable beds, pillows, and mattress protectors.
What challenge were you trying to address with DD.NYC®?
Given that we were a startup company, we wanted to find an agency that could help us with a number of things, including developing our website, creating branding and marketing materials, and providing us with general guidance for creating our brand.
What was the scope of their involvement?
DD.NYC® has provided us with branding, graphic design, and website development services. As for our branding, the team helped us design our logos and define our color palette. Then, they designed and developed our website from scratch.
When DD.NYC® joined, they weren’t exactly familiar with all the products we would offer. Therefore, we provided them with guidance and reflection on how our messaging would best be presented to our customers. From there, they helped us come up with a marketing strategy.
Currently, DD.NYC® is helping us develop an advertising strategy for the Las Vegas Furniture Show, which will take place at the end of January 2023. Eventually, we’ll also work on SEO because they specialize in it.
What is the team composition?
I’m the main point of contact for DD.NYC®, although I’m not sure how many people are working on their side.
How did you come to work with DD.NYC®?
I used a third-party company to set up interviews with different agencies, and DD.NYC® was one of the four agencies we interviewed. They were the best fit for us in terms of how well we communicated during our meetings; we were very aligned, so working with them felt better than the other agencies. DD.NYC® had a better way to communicate their strengths and how they would help us achieve our goals.
How much have you invested with them?
We're currently under a $150,000 yearly contract.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in October 2022, and our engagement is ongoing. We signed a year-long contract, but we’ll hopefully turn it into a multi-year contract in the future.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Our main success metric is DD.NYC®’s adherence to timelines. Additionally, we’re very happy with the products we’ve received.
How did DD.NYC® perform from a project management standpoint?
DD.NYC® has delivered everything on time and within budget. In October 2022, we established deadlines for developing certain assets to start with production, and they met every single deadline. Although we’ve had subsequent revisions and changes, the initial products were finalized on time.
As for collaboration tools, we use email, Google Drive, and Skype. Additionally, they use Asana for project management. All these tools help us communicate with different team members both locally and overseas.
What did you find most impressive about them?
It’s very impressive that there are a lot of people on DD.NYC®’s team engaged and involved in the project. Whenever I have conversations with them, it’s not with just one person; it’s truly a team effort, and everyone is on the same page. Their teamwork approach is very helpful.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I can’t think of anything DD.NYC® could improve on. If anything, one of their designers is very critical of his own work. Sometimes, I approve one of his designs, and he comes back the next day with changes for things he felt were wrong. Still, I was very happy with the first draft.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
DD.NYC® will deliver on everything they promise. Working with them, you’ll have an entire team working on your project.

Symphony Sleep® Lux Adjustable Beds & Mattresses
Under an aggressive timeline, DD.NYC® was commissioned with rebranding one of America's most legacy bed and mattress manufacturers. With over 80 SKUs of manufacturers' premium quality mattresses and adjustable beds, our team had only two months to complete the full brand identity, re-design of all packaging, create print-ready files for factories in China, Mexico, Serbia, and design QA box printing in real time, among hundreds of printed collaterals to go inside the boxes such as warranty cards, thank you cards, quick-start guides, and more - all in time for the infamous Las Vegas Market 2023. We focused on finding the optimal design that would allow us to take into account all the limitations of production. The main challenge was to produce inexpensive and easy-to-manufacture packaging that can be quickly printed anywhere on the planet and at the same time be design-centric and environmentally friendly. A simple solution consists of using one paint on blank cardboard. By placing the logo on the edge of the packaging, we were able to visually enlarge it. Simple materials without additional coatings have provided us with low cost, environmental friendliness, and effective clever design of not having to use two-color printing.

Branding & Web Development for Event Production Company

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m a marketing and communications consultant at iCrowd, an event production company.
What challenges were you trying to address with DD.NYC®?
We needed help freshening our brand to become more recognizable and easy to find as a business.
What was the scope of their involvement?
DD.NYC® is helping us rebrand our company. They’ve started by thoroughly reviewing our company, our stakeholders, our brand’s online messaging and communication, and our competition. They’ve followed that by giving us design concept ideas that we can choose from — it’s a collaborative process where we narrow down to an option that we feel conveys the right feelings about who we are and what we offer as a company.
Their deliverables include logo creation, color scheme, brand guidelines creation, and WordPress website development to enhance our online presence. DD.NYC®’s team also provides helpful ideas for the site’s pages
In terms of features, the site they’re creating is intended to be easy to use and showcase our services and past projects.
What was the team composition?
We work around six members of DD.NYC®’s team, but our main points of contact are Mariana (CEO), a designer, and an account manager — we’ve been collaborating with the same people since we started the project, which is great.
How much have you invested with them?
So far, we’ve spent $25,000–$50,000 with them.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in July 2022, and the engagement is ongoing. We had to put the project on hold for a couple of months because we were too busy with other projects, but we resumed the work after that to move it through.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We haven’t launched yet, but our internal team has given fantastic feedback and is excited about DD.NYC®’s work. The logo they created, the color schemes they chose, and the integration of every element capture the exact industry we’re in and represent who we are as a team — they have a great eye and go above and beyond our expectations.
How did DD.NYC® perform from a project management standpoint?
DD.NYC®’s team has open lines of communication, is forward-thinking, pushes the project at the right pace without being aggressive, and has resources for us whenever we need to communicate with them. In terms of communication, we use phone calls, email, texts, Zoom, and in-person meetings, making it very easy to work with them.
What did you find most impressive about them?
DD.NYC®’s biggest strength is their creative talent, driven by their experience — they’ve worked on many projects, so their team is very knowledgeable, tech-savvy, and innovative.
Are there any areas they could improve?
So far, I don’t think there’s anything they can improve on. They’re a consistent team, and working with them has been a pleasure.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
It’s important to have an idea of what you want, but I suggest taking a leap of faith and opening your mind to letting them show their talent and develop ideas for your project — DD.NYC® is a group you can trust.

Website Dev for Pre-Construction SaaS Company
“The team was highly effective behind the scenes; they did an exceptional job.”

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CEO and founder of ConCntric, a pre-construction platform for the commercial construction industry. From a software perspective, we’re in the database SaaS space, serving the trillion-dollar construction and real estate industry.
We’re a startup at the seed stage; we’ve been developing our product and operating with select customers and partners to build our platform.
What challenge were you trying to address with DD.NYC®?
We got to a point where it was time to go public and make the product available for all contractors. We needed a website that could be a front door to our house, so it had to be effective and have a great strategy, technical aspects, and design. Moreover, we had a pretty aggressive timeline.
What was the scope of their involvement?
DD.NYC® developed our WordPress website. They designed it to convey our messaging and value proposition to our commercial customers. The website’s purpose was to entice customers to book a demo and spend time on it to learn more about us so they’d ask to interact with our sales team. They used proprietary tools and methodologies to make our site powerful. We also used Figma and other design-oriented software to help augment the design with screenshots and actual versions of our product to incorporate into the website.
Additionally, they provided hosting and maintenance services.
What is the team composition?
We interfaced with Anjelika (Managing Partner) and Oksana (Project Manager), and they stayed with us the entire process. We didn’t get to see the development team, but they worked hard through the holidays doing all the technical and creative work behind the scenes.
How did you come to work with DD.NYC®?
Our head of marketing heard great things about them. We evaluated a few firms but ultimately decided to go with DD.NYC®. We connected with Anjelika; her technical knowledge was off the charts, and the team was fantastic. They listened to our needs, and their creative spirit won us over.
Also, other firms were concerned with the timeline, but Anjelika knew it was important to us, so she laid out a plan to make it happen throughout the holidays.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent around $25,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them in December 2022, and the website was ready to go live by January 2023.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
They produced an amazing website in a short period of time. The team was highly effective behind the scenes; they did an exceptional job. The design was modern, dynamic, and eye-catching; it received dozens of compliments.
Moreover, we saw higher web traffic, a response to our LinkedIn and social media, and an average of 2–3 minutes sessions on the website. The metrics have been higher than average across the board, and they’ve sustained themselves since the first day of launch. On the SEO side, we saw an immediate impact on Google and other search engines. Overall, we’ve seen great early success, pulling prospective customers into the platform and making a strong impression.
How did DD.NYC® perform from a project management standpoint?
They worked and stayed within the budget. DD.NYC® managed the deliveries and even did things outside the initial scope without having surprises or unnecessary budget increases. We wanted to be involved on an iterative basis, and they followed our request.
For communication, we did many Zoom and Google Meet meetings to review the design as it evolved. They leveraged the video conferencing technology because I was in San Francisco, and my teammates were in Argentina, Toronto, and New York. All in all, they effectively accommodated our arrangement and kept us constantly informed.
What did you find most impressive about them?
When we first saw the original designs, we liked the three options they presented, but none of them was it. From that point forward, we came together, and DD.NYC® adjusted to our feedback. They embraced our need to be involved, and everything worked out well.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, they met our expectations.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
I’d advise starting the process earlier. Don’t put the agency in the position of having to deliver in a short time.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m a senior project manager at Seattle Software Developers, a software development company.
What challenge were you trying to address with DD.NYC®?
We needed help designing and developing some of our current projects.
What was the scope of their involvement?
DD.NYC® does software design and development with us collaboratively for our customers. They start by putting together a preliminary estimate with an informal statement of work, which includes a discovery phase in which they research the customer’s industry and bring forward comps that are successful within that area. They also use other survey-based options to help our customers choose their design path. Consequently, we work collaboratively to come up with around five potential designs to pitch to our customers, and when they choose the one they like, we incorporate it into their build.
In addition to that, DD.NYC® takes care of trademarking if our customer chooses to have a design or logo registered.
What is the team composition?
We mainly work with Anjelika (Managing Director); she’s our main point of contact.
How did you come to work with DD.NYC®?
They were referred to us by one of our coworkers.
How much money have you invested in this partnership?
So far, we’ve spent $25,000–$50,000 with them.
What is the status of this engagement?
For this project, we started working together in May 2022, and the engagement is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Their design services are top-notch, and I haven’t seen these types of designs anywhere. DD.NYC®’s work is unique and one of a kind. In addition, DD.NYC® is always willing to come on board with the projects we have for them, which is great because our customers like their work.
How did DD.NYC® perform from a project management standpoint?
Project management has been excellent. We go through multiple rounds of revisions, and they’re very responsive to our feedback. Regarding tools and communication, we use ClickUp, Slack, and Telegram.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The quality of their work and their communication skills are their best attribute. They’re very good at what they do and are always flexible with our revisions.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I don’t think there’s anything they can improve on — their quality, timeliness, and costs meet our expectations.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CEO of Theodo, a software development agency. We build custom software for clients.
What challenge were you trying to address with DigitalDesign.NYC?
DigitalDesign worked with us for three of our end clients. We specifically hired them to take care of the UI/UX design tasks for these customers, one being a nonprofit, the second being a financial technology company, and the third being a software company.
What was the scope of their involvement?
During our work with a nonprofit, we had to recreate a whole system for the end customer to run their operations. It was essentially an internal tool for their team members to support their work for the organization. Moreover, it was a complex project that took about nine months to complete. DigitalDesign handled the UI/UX design needed for the product.
Our second project was a shorter one. They had to build an onboarding form for a financial institution to onboard new clients. They refined and revamped the UI/UX flow of the form. We then built what they designed.
In terms of documentation, DigitalDesign received full documentation from the first client; we contributed to it. The product was already live in the second project, and they simply worked on it. For tools, the team mainly used Figma to create designs and gather feedback from the end clients.
What is the team composition?
A team of 2–3 designers worked on the first project for 3–4 months. Fewer people worked on it for the rest of the time.
How did you come to work with DigitalDesign.NYC?
We found DigitalDesign online as we were searching for agencies in New York. One of my colleagues found them and got in touch with their team as we needed to find a new UX-Design agency for a specific project that needed very strong UX and UI design skills.
We chose them over their competitors since their processes and tools were compatible with the way we worked and our design standards. Besides that, we met their founder and the person who’d work on our projects. They both seemed passionate, knowledgeable and showed us their previous projects with similar challenges and complexities. Last but not least, I knew someone who had previously worked with them. They gave great feedback about their collaboration with Digital Design.
How much have you invested with them?
The first project cost $70,000, while the second one was around $20,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them in March 2022. The first project ended in September 2022, while the second one lasted from May–July 2022.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
DigitalDesign finished the first project in record time. They were extremely professional and had highly skilled individual contributors. The team also had amazing transparency on their progress; the co-founder was highly involved in the project, ensuring everything went well.
The end clients were truly happy with the work we provided with DigitalDesign — this was the biggest measure of success for us.
How did DigitalDesign.NYC perform from a project management standpoint?
The team was responsive and stayed on budget. We used Trello as a project management tool, and all of our communication went through Slack and virtual platforms.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their communication and transparency were impressive. On top of that, DigitalDesign was user-focused; this ensured they understood the end users. Finally, they were highly responsive when we needed them to jump on calls, taking into account how they could help us. These were on top of the fact that they had great design skills.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, there weren’t any. I was truly satisfied with what they’d done. They were highly productive.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
If you want to be successful, make sure that the DigitalDesign team can have access to your users. For them to be successful, they need to understand everything related to your company.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the president of a marketing agency, Rocket Pilots. We hired digtialdesign.nyc to redesign a client's website. The client was a Law Firm based in a competitive city.
For what projects/services did your company hire DigitalDesign.NYC?
The website had an outdated design and was built on an old CMS. We hired them to create a modern site with a stellar UX.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We looked diligently online and read reviews on Clutch. They had amazing reviews and an impressive portfolio. The team really understood the project scope and presented great ideas upfront. We were confident they were going to deliver.
Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.
After a comprehensive questionnaire and Q & Session the team came back with 3 design concepts for the homepage. All 3 concepts were high quality. We chose our favorite and began iterations. Once the homepage was finalized the team quickly came back with inner page concepts. We collaborated on meetings and provided feedback. Design changes were fast, creative and high quality.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We had a total of 4 resources. The owner of the company, a project manager and 2 designers. Everyone was great to work with.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Their documentation and design files were perfect. They simply set us up for success.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
The project manager set clear expectations in regards to next steps. This made the workflow crystal clear. Every time they set a deadline, they delivered early.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
I was very impressed by the creativity of the designers and the communication of the Project Manager.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Not really. All in all we were very happy with the outcome and would highly recommend them to any brand looking for a best in class design and development team.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am the founder, owner, and creative director of a home design studio.
What challenge were you trying to address with DigitalDesign.NYC?
We needed help strategizing a new brand identity and developing a new website.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We had an initial call to discuss our vision and different aspects of my goal. They asked questions and developed a plan to bring our vision to life. They walked us through a detailed branding strategy and helped us create a new website from scratch using WordPress and other technologies.
They created different designs for me to review, and I gave my feedback and approval for the design we ultimately ended up using. Then, they used the final design to influence logos and color schemes.
What is the team composition?
We’ve worked with five team members from DigitalDesign.NYC, including UI/UX developers, back-and-frontend developers, and a project manager.
How did you come to work with DigitalDesign.NYC?
We found DigitalDesign.NYC through a referral. I researched them online alongside other companies. They were very engaged and passionate about our project, so we felt comfortable moving forward with the partnership.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve invested $25,000–$50,000 in the partnership.
What is the status of this engagement?
We began working with DigitalDesign.NYC in January 2019, and the partnership is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The branding and website design has come out wonderfully, and I’m delighted with their work. I’m a home designer, so it’s crucial to stand out from a design perspective and DigitalDesign.NYC has helped me do that.
DigitalDesign.NYC has created a very intuitive, fast-moving website. Their work has added value to my business, and I see more conversions from my website. The investment has been worth it, and I see more projects for my business as a result.
How did DigitalDesign.NYC perform from a project management standpoint?
DigitalDesign.NYC is punctual regarding meetings and deadlines, and they deliver on budget. They’re diligent about following up, and I’ve never had to chase them down for anything. We typically communicate via text and Zoom.
They’ve been patient with me and good about implementing feedback to ensure they delivered exactly what I had envisioned. I’ve felt very comfortable with the partnership because they work to understand my needs and accommodate any changes as needed. They’ve been very efficient; even when they delivered their original design options, most of them were in line with what I asked for, and we didn’t go through many iterations to get to the final product, which was perfect.
It feels like DigitalDesign.NYC cares deeply about my brand. They’ve been wonderful to work with; they’re willing to help with anything from A-Z. We’ve hit it off, and the partnership has worked well. I reach out to them whenever I need assistance with branding or development. I’ve also referred their services to others because they’ve been such a massive help to me.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I’ve been most impressed with their ability to understand my needs and execute what I ask for. They’re very good at articulating my vision in a way that makes sense from a technology standpoint. As a business owner, I want to be proud of my brand, and they’ve done a great job representing my business in a visually appealing way.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I have nothing DigitalDesign.NYC could improve on.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
I advise making a list before your initial meeting with DigitalDesign.NYC so you can explain your goals, and they’ll help you strategize to develop the best possible business plan.

Project summary
An interior design company hired Digital Design NYC to build their site. It features the client’s works and allows prospective customers to place their orders. They continue to make changes to the platform.
Feedback summary
Digital Design NYC has built an exceptional website for the client where third-party stakeholders can request customized orders. Passionate and understanding, they excellently execute the client's ideas and have solved many of the company's roadblocks. The client highly recommends them.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CEO and founder of Sozen Studio. We are an interior design company and I’ve done staging and home depot for various different projects.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Digital Design NYC?
I can do the marketing side of my business, but I needed somebody to do the web development side. I wanted a very cool website that can display and showcase some of the works I’ve done.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
They built the website from scratch and followed my preferences in the direction of the website. I shared all my ideas and what I’m trying to represent on my site. However, because the team has so much experience, they took my vision and finished it. They’ve worked with much-advanced software that works with Android and Apple products — that’s why they’ve helped to make everything custom adjustable regardless of the type of phone our target market uses.
The biggest project that we’ve done so far was the home decor line that I was creating, which is placed under the section of my Sozen Studio site where you’ll see different concepts of various plates. I’m coming out with a dinnerware line and I just needed a cool way to show the different styles of the different plates I have. Basically, customers can pick a design and custom order them. It was Digital Design NYC’s idea to display our different works since I’m doing everything custom to order, and I’m not holding the inventory.
For example, when I need something changed on my website such as putting a new design for a place that I’ve made, they just add it for me. The team literally gives me assistance without always trying to charge me with everything. I’ve worked with people in the past that even if you breathe and just want to say hi to them, they’re already going to send you an invoice.
What is the team composition?
I’ve worked with around 5 people from their team including the founder herself.
How did you come to work with Digital Design NYC?
Digital Design NYC was referred to me. One day I was just having a coffee with someone and I just had a meeting, and I mentioned I was looking for a tech company. At that time, I’ve already had meetings with some other companies that we’re okay with, but none of them really stood out. I ended up not working with them because I didn’t feel a sense of connection and I couldn’t see that they really love what they do there.
My company is my baby and I’ve put my blood, sweat, and tears into it — it’s been something I’ve been working on for over five years. When you go to an agency to showcase everything that you’ve done and showcase whatever it is you have — it’s important that you feel some sense of community. I also wanted to assure myself that the team I’m going to be working with really cares about my project — and I saw that in Digital Design NYC. Above all, I knew that they were not just trying to do it just to make money.
When they were suggested by my friend, she said really great things about the founder, and everything that she said just made me really want to give it a shot. She connected us to the team and we scheduled a meeting where I said everything that I wanted to do. The team told me that some of the things I’ve shared would be a waste of time or an extra cost for no reason — and they could’ve made a huge amount of money with that, but instead, they chose to be honest with what I wanted, what they could deliver, and what would make the most sense for me financially.
How much have you invested with them?
I’ve spent approximately $20,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
I started working with them in February 2019, and our partnership is ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
They’ve been doing top of the line work and use great technology. The design of our frontend has been great and whatever is on the backend works very well too. My website has never crashed which is far from what other websites are experiencing. Whenever I needed to tweak something, I have never had a problem getting assistance from Digital Design NYC. They can solve our issues very well. Most of all, none of my concerns have ever been neglected.
They’ve been able to come up with an amazing website. I’ve liked the feature where my clients can just hover several plate numbers in order to get their desired design and customer order them. I really thought it was cool because I don’t have to necessarily hold all the inventory, especially in New York City — a place that doesn’t have a lot of space. They also made sure everything was custom adjustable so that it looks great no matter which type of device that you open it on. I’m not sure what that’s called, but I think it’s pretty advanced and cool because I’ve seen other people’s websites where they can look very different depending on the size of the screen and where you open it up.
Moreover, everything is responsive and works really fast. There's never a glitch, and there’s never an issue — the website always works very well and seamlessly. Overall, their whole team is great and they care about my project. They’re passionate about what they’re doing — it's what makes them stand out to me as opposed to other agencies. I haven’t felt that at all and I feel like they really want to see me succeed. If they can help with a little something here and there, they just do it, which makes me want to bring all my projects with them.
How did Digital Design NYC perform from a project management standpoint?
They constantly ask me if I need anything and the team’s follow-up process is impressive. I feel like if anything was to go wrong, I feel confident I have the right kind of support and I have someone to fix it immediately. It wouldn’t be the same where I have to send in an email or try to chase somebody down to help me. Then, they take forever to get back to me. Instead, Digital Design NYC is very hands-on and quick.
They work well together, and everything just flows really well. Most of all, they are timely and ensures a seamless workflow. Additionally, their founder is smart — whenever we hit a roadblock, she’s always capable of finding its solutions.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I am a creator and inventor, and I’m constantly coming up with different ideas and things. That’s why anything that I need and don’t know how to do — I need an agency that can do it — Digital Design NYC is for sure my go-to.
Everything that I’ve done with them, I’ve been very satisfied with. I referred them to other people for different needs and projects. I wanted to review them because I think it’s significant for entrepreneurs such as myself to have an agency like them that really caters to entrepreneurs and everyone across the board. They’re a team who does not only take our ideas — they really get what we want. Whenever we explain something to them, they can really deliver on it. Sometimes clients do not understand what they want and they don’t know how to articulate what’s on their mind, but Digital Design NYC has a way of ‘reading’ their client’s mind, and they have turned our several ideas into realities.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, honestly I didn’t have any issues with them. Whenever we experienced any challenges in the past, they’ve been able to overcome them. They make things look easy because they’re good at it.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Have an idea of what you’re trying to do and what kind of design you want. As a result, when you go to sit down and talk to them, you can explain your project and have them build on top of that. They can also present you with options of the different types of designs based on what you already think that you want.
You can’t just show up to an agency not knowing anything. I have been pretty confused myself, but I really loved how they have been able to take the little bits that I’ve shared and create what I want. They've been really able to put all the elements together and the project has left me happy in the end.

UI/UX Design for Noprofit Organization
“DigitalDesign.NYC had very strong care for the end user.”

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the senior manager for strategy and operations at a nonprofit organization that runs a national arts admission program for middle and high school students.
What challenge were you trying to address with DigitalDesign.NYC?
We were in the process of rebuilding the student entry portal through which we ran our program, for which we collaborated with DigitalDesign.NYC on the UI/UX design.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Before engaging with them, another design company was working on the project but wasn’t performing well. Thus, DigitalDesign.NYC stepped in very swiftly to take over our design efforts and help us create a better UI/UX. They used Figma to create the designs.
Initially, they did user research because, although this was a legacy tool for us with over a decade's worth of feedback, the original user research wasn’t robust enough. We also guided them throughout the process, asking them to keep in mind accessibility and our website's already established visual language.
What is the team composition?
We worked with Anjelika (Managing Director) and 2–3 designers.
How did you come to work with DigitalDesign.NYC?
They were recommended to us.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent between $60,000–$70,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked together from March–August 2022.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We were very pleased with the modern and well-thought designs provided by DigitalDesign.NYC. They very quickly understood our program and our product’s needs, allowing them to quickly deliver designs that were usable and immediately implementable by our developers. Quantitative metrics to evaluate the success of our engagement are yet to come; we still need to implement the designs, go through beta testing, and launch the portal.
How did DigitalDesign.NYC perform from a project management standpoint?
DigitalDesign.NYC joined in the middle of the project, and we needed a design firm that could be onboarded very quickly. They worked very hard to ensure that, and they were able to meet our deliverables with a high level of quality and within a short amount of time. We communicated via Slack and collaborated through Figma.
What did you find most impressive about them?
DigitalDesign.NYC had very strong care for the end user. As a nonprofit organization, everything we do goes back to our mission: supporting creative teens. It was clear how much Anjelika’s team thought about it and about how to support end users, making the portal as easy to use as possible.
Additionally, it was impressive how quickly DigitalDesign.NYC turned around designs while thinking through each use case and working with the developers. We especially appreciated Anjelika’s thoughtfulness and strategic thinking in creating the best possible UX.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No. They performed very well given the circumstances they joined into.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Be ready for how quickly they work in order to work as efficiently as possible.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I'm the Executive Director of the Julia Robinson Mathematics Festival, a math education non-profit on a mission to empower communities to create magical math moments for students.
For what projects/services did your company hire DigitalDesign.NYC, and what were your goals?
We wanted a website that was easier to navigate for our audiences and better showcased our services and programs. We hired DigitalDesign.NYC to design a new website for us from the ground up with a new UX and incorporating new branded elements.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We connected with DigitalDesign.NYC through Breef, an organization that matches non-profits with contractors. Our main deciding factor when choosing to work with DigitalDesign.NYC was their experience with doing design, backend, and UX work for websites. We also chose DigitalDesign.NYC because of their passion for our project. DigitalDesign.NYC helped us raise $20,000 for our new website, which was the only reason that we could afford to work with them.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
We had a kick-off meeting to discuss our goals for the new site. We started by identifying the key audiences we wanted to focus on with the new site and how we could organize the architecture of the site to make finding content easier for each of our main audiences. DigitalDesign.
NYC then created mock-ups of webpages through Figma. Through follow-up meetings and comments via Figma, we collaborated on the visuals and UX of the site to produce a website mock-up that would better serve our audiences. We finalized the design of the site last week, and they are now at the stage of building out our site in Wordpress.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We had two main points of contact from the vendor's team: the director of DigitalDesign.NYC and our project lead. We also worked with a designer and backend programmer from the team.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
We're still in the process of building our site. Although I don't have any metrics yet because the site hasn't gone live, our site is much more beautiful and considerate of the different audiences in our community. I think that it'll make a huge difference in people learning about our organization and being able to find what they're looking for.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
We communicated through weekly meetings and through collaborative comments via Figma. Their team was incredibly responsive and would get back to us with answers to our comments and questions within a day.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
DigitalDesign.NYC is incredibly committed to the customer experience and ensuring that they are passionate about the projects they take on. We're a small non-profit with a limited budget, but the director of DigitalDesign.NYC, Anjelika Kour, worked with us to make sure that we could afford working with them. She did this by helping us raise $20,000 for the project and setting up a flexible payment schedule so that we could distribute the cost of the site across the year.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
They've been very excited about the project and producing something that we'll be happy with, which is great. But sometimes this has led to scope creep and a more complex project than they were expecting. Helping us gauge when scope creep was taking place would have been very helpful.
DD.NYC® has successfully delivered assets on time, allowing the client to start their production efforts promptly. The team is communicative and collaborative via Skype, Google Drive, and Asana, and they demonstrate a teamwork-focused culture. Moreover, they deliver what they promise.
