Given the dynamic and evolving nature of this project—where ideas were continuously added, refined, and sometimes restructured—maintaining a strict schedule was understandably challenging. However, they adapted well by providing time ranges and consistently updating me on timelines. Due to my own personal busy schedule I was not able to commit to a schedule meeting time and often that time would be adjusted last minute, EVERY time I made the change I was accommodated and was offered other means for communication. Typically we would have a Teams Meeting due to Covid, however, if I was unable to get to a computer I was able to have a phone call.

We primarily communicate through Slack and have weekly meetings on Zoom. We decided to keep project management simple, so we sometimes use Google Sheets and have multiple Excel documents with tabs. Evan told us where we were, and he was willing to put time into training people on how to use tools if we wanted to learn. We decided we didn't need fancy tools. Yes, Evan, the co-founder. He has been a beautiful, gentle collaborator. I was hesitant if it would be a tech bro kind of thing. I didn't know how well that would go with the communities we work with. He has so much knowledge but never lorded it over us. He always ensures that whatever features we develop are super collaborative and takes the lead from the young people. Many Hats is incredibly considerate and responsive. They're a joy to collaborate with and are respectful of the content because it is about tough topics. They've held a space for young people to succeed and for the whole project to succeed. They've done it in a respectful and non-stressful way. They're great collaborators, use simple and understandable language, and never make us feel stupid.

These naturally caused timeline delays, but it would be categorically unfair to blame these delays on the Intergalactic team - their team routinely worked through the weekend in order to ensure everything was ready for the Charms program and unfortunately even had to do double work numerous times based on new/changing requirements provided to them by our team. Intergalactic is a small company that is armed with a fairly small team of devs, yet I found it extremely impressive how the team worked together cohesively to ensure that the necessary tasks were completed by the necessary deadlines. In an environment where it was easy to make excuses, they chose to find solutions.
