Mobcoder

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the co-founder of Grapple, a fantasy MMA app.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What specific goals or objectives did you hire Mobcoder to accomplish for Grapple’s fantasy MMA app?

We wanted the app to be user-friendly.

SOLUTION

Can you describe the scope of work Mobcoder handled for your fantasy MMA app project?

Mobcoder has served as our full development partner, delivering the entire application end to end. We supplied the product requirements and vision, and Mobcoder has executed the complete build from there, all the way through to a launch-ready product. One of the main features they’ve delivered is the prediction and picks module, which is the core of the app where users make their calls on fight outcomes. This is the central interaction the entire product is built around, and Mobcoder has delivered the full flow from selection through submission.

What is the team composition?

We’ve worked with 2–5 teammates from Mobcoder Saudi Technology Co.

How did you come to work with Mobcoder Saudi Technology Co.?

They were referred to me. I chose them over other options because they were close to my geographic location, their pricing fit our budget, they had a great culture fit, they offered good value for the cost, and their company values aligned with ours.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in September 2024, and our engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve seen a healthy active user retention rate, as well as an increase in our user count in a short time for a very niche market. We’ve tracked these metrics through analytics.

How did Mobcoder perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve delivered on time. We communicate with them through in-person meetings, virtual meetings, and emails or messaging apps.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their willingness to go the extra mile and think long term is impressive.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There’s nothing they need to improve.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m an executive at a storytelling company that helps people record, organize, and preserve moments in their lives.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Mobcoder?

We had a service business that helped people individually tell and share stories, and we wanted to scale that business and make it more accessible to everyone. To achieve this, we took our expertise in storytelling and designed a mobile app, including its wireframes and flows. Then, we hired Mobcoder to develop the app.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Mobcoder developed an iOS mobile app based on our designs using Swift and Python as the main technologies. As for the app’s core features, Mobcoder developed a media player that allows people to record stories and automatically transcribe them so that other users can read and listen to them simultaneously. Moreover, they developed a search engine within the app so that users can find stories.

What is the team composition?

We worked with four people from Mobcoder, including a backend developer, a frontend developer, a QA tester, and a project manager.

How did you come to work with Mobcoder?

I was referred to them by a local agency.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in May 2021 and published the app in December 2022. However, Mobcoder is in charge of providing maintenance and developing new features when needed.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’re satisfied with the app delivered by Mobcoder — we use it all the time. However, we haven’t been around long enough to have any meaningful metrics.

How did Mobcoder perform from a project management standpoint?

Mobcoder was very reliable. Although we had a couple of issues regarding project management, we figured out how to work together. Part of that adjustment was switching from a fixed to an hourly rate. We used Slack to communicate, as well as a platform that Mobcoder connected us to for project management.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Mobcoder provided us with high-quality developers at a very reasonable price. They have good people on their team.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything Mobcoder could have improved on.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be very clear and upfront about the scope of work. Mobcoder will be able to do almost everything you ask them to do, but they’ll unlikely do something you don’t ask them for.

They built everything from scratch from beginning to end and have continued to exceed our expectations.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

They were the only firm that we found that didn't overpromise and underdeliver. We needed Mobcoder and the team to be able to take what we have in V1 and then where it fell short in order to deliver our current platform. We needed to be sure that they had a team that could handle all aspects of what our design team & tech team were requiring.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

Project steps how we execute it like first we did requirement gathering and business analysis then after happy with documents & wireframes finalisation, we did UI/UX completion. then in Development, we divided into sprints/milestones and followed agile approach with scrum to achieve our daily goals. That's how we able develop a successful product.

Key Deliverables are:

• SOW & Wireframes
• UI/UX design with prototype sharing
• Web Application for customer base
• Admin web panel for analytics & app control by founder
• Api's via Swagger Technologiles:
  • Web frontend :
    • React.js, HTML & CSS Api backend :
      • Node.js Database:
        • MongoDB

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

Overall we had 10 on the team between front, back & project manager + designers

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The team was able to launch the project ahead of schedule. As we needed to add updates, the team was always able to deliver on-time or ahead of schedule regardless of the task.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

The communication and project manager was always able to be articulate the progress as well as meet each deadline. We communicated through Slack & used Zoom when needed.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They delivered on each item and never gave up. Even when it came to some of the most difficult tasks, they found a way through.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I wouldn't have changed a thing to date.

I am the Founder and Developer of Eternal Message. An App with it's companion Landing page that allows a user to leave messages in several formats for their friends and loved ones for after they have passed away and allow when in the future those messages will be received.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Mobcoder?

Eternal Message APP and it's companion Landing Page. Trouble shooting, writing new code for both Apple and Android.

What were your goals for this project?

To trouble shoot and write additional code for this App that was sitting between first and second base. To advise best practices for the most user friendly experience for this great App and bring it home.

SOLUTION

How did you select Mobcoder?

While searching for the best fit for Eternal Message, Mobcoder answered the call by coming up with clear targeted solutions and work practices with reasonable pricing.

Describe the project in detail.

Initial back and forth going over all goals and expectations. Addressing each and every screen within the App and trouble shoot and problem solve all things needed for me and my App to move forward. Creating a spreadsheet to log and track the progress of what is on deck, what is priority and what was completed.

What was the team composition?

Essentially all hands on deck as not to over task and rise to the threshold of just what is needed. Both on the Apple side and the Android side.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

As we are coming closer to the re-launch timing it's a little early to state the outcome but we are on a very good trajectory.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Extremely effective and very satisfied with our communication.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Simply put, Mobcoder is a very professional group with a heart.

Are there any areas for improvement?

So far so good!

BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I am COO of mixed reality platform VideoBomb. We empower companies to created immersive experiences on their own using a smart device.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Mobcoder, and what were your goals?

end-to-end iOS mobile app development, including the app shell, computer vision, and a back-end admin panel.

SOLUTION

How did you select Mobcoder and what were the deciding factors?

General knowledge of mobile app development and the languages that we were desiring. Flexibility and willingness to work on specific design requirements that they had minimal experience with OR that was/were very new to the industry/field.

Their price was also very competitive. We also had a great project management intermediary in Aloa Labs.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

iOS-based AR app and back-end admin panel

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We worked directly with the technical lead (Rohit) and then periodically with the company's CEO for operational, contract, or strategy questions/topics.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The new app is v1.0 / alpha. Although it definitely has some specific areas needing enhancements, Mobcoder has done an excellent job throughout the last 18 months in staying engaged, adapting to our requests, and designing with the user in mind.

This is a very new space, yet Mobcoder has done a great job of really going beyond what was asked contractually in becoming more familiar with very new programming languages and spaces that are very new -- AI/computer vision.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timelines.

The entire team does a fantastic job of communicating throughout an engagement. They are extremely responsive, timely, and if they don't have an answer they investigate and get back to you in a reasonable timeframe.

Additionally, working via Aloa as a project manager has been integral to our project success, as they have effectively managed (along with Mobcoder's help) all bugs and change requests.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

How responsive they are. Our initial hesitancy in working with a company 10-12 hours ahead of us was logistical challenges. Mobcoder has been more than accommodating with our time differences and has always made us feel like a priority.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Continued education in the XR space. This is a rapidly growing space, and with advancements also comes complexity and change. The breadth of knowledge base will be integral to remain relevant here, namely APIs, most effective programming languages, common AI issues in the industry, and knowing generally what users want. I have no doubt that this team will continue in this direction.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CEO of a software creation company. We do bookings and registration processes for businesses.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Mobcoder?

Mobcoder is assisting us in a host of platform design and development projects. They help with creating websites and mobile apps.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We store our projects on wxD. For wireframes, we’re on an application called Marvel App. As far as development, we use HTML5, PSI, and JavaScript. Mobcoder creates the code and architecture from scratch. Our side prepares the layout and design in advance.

What is the team composition?

We work with 13 people. That includes a project manager, an architect, a tech lead, some senior developers, HTML developers, QA testers, and designers.

How did you come to work with Mobcoder?

I made a LinkedIn post asking contacts and colleagues for recommendations. Mobcoder got recommended to me, and they reached out. We went through the process of vetting them and other recommendations by verifying their referrals and looking at their past work.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in February this year, and the work is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I appreciate their attention to detail and high level of communication. A time zone difference can make that difficult, but they’ve been over-the-top excellent.

We work with each other’s schedules. They’re direct in describing what the next step is and what needs to get done, making it really seamless. They’re one of the best development companies I’ve worked with when it comes to project management and communication.

Mobcoder is also helpful in scoping. As we get our ideas on paper, they’re eager to do trial and error and make corrections as needed.

How did Mobcoder perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicate via Skype, email, and text messages. It varies by which part of the team we need to talk to — development or design. Being able to talk over video or give an image is really helpful.

What did you find most impressive about them?

No, I think that summarizes up.

Are there any areas they could improve?

For our specific project, no. They fit with our work style seamlessly, but I can’t predict if they’ll fit with others. They lean on the side of pushing something forward quicker and making adjustments as needed. That works absolutely fantastic for my team, but I can see how others might prefer a different workflow.  Just something to discuss, they certainly can adapt to what you need.

Any advice for potential customers?

Our team is upfront and specific about the aesthetics in the design and the functionality behind the scenes. We take steps to outline how things like the search feature works from a nitty-gritty detail.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CEO of a data monetization and utilization company. We help our clients get more value from data.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Mobcoder?

We were building tools to help cities, counties, and hospitals track individuals with COVID-19 symptoms. However, we needed an interactive map that would take the data and visualize it in near real-time.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They did all the map development and data visualization from the core database. Internally, we don’t have experience with mapping tools. We decided to use CARTO to map the data without an understanding of how it worked. Their team knew that platform well and formatted the data to create an updatable, interactive map. Because we’re working with municipalities, there were some challenges gathering data.

Additionally, they were tasked with customizing all the visuals on the map and defining breakpoints that would cause the map’s color to darken as more submissions rolled in. They handled everything from data extraction all the way to presentation.

What is the team composition?

Our main point of contact is Ashu (CEO & Technical Strategist). He had 4–5 teammates working on the platform around the clock.

How did you come to work with Mobcoder?

We found them through a partner of ours that helps American companies connect with offshore development resources. They made the introduction based on our needs.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent about $10,000 altogether.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project took place throughout April 2020.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The map works perfectly and functions in all the ways we intended. Our clients are happy with it. It’s also set up to evolve over time. Everyone is satisfied with their work.

How did Mobcoder perform from a project management standpoint?

They use Slack in coordination with the company that introduced us. Over time, my CTO and I started working with them directly. They worked as long as they needed to reach our milestones, which was impressive. Their team was great at meeting our deadlines.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Aside from their strong technical capabilities, they’re a very service-oriented team. They respond to our messages at all hours and are attentive to our needs. Despite our requests for modifications, they were always courteous and pleasant to work with. There was also no language barrier whatsoever, so that was notable as well.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I haven’t seen any weaknesses that I can speak to at the moment.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Having an intermediary party facilitate the beginning of the relationship was helpful. We’ve never done a project that way, but that company’s familiarity with both of our companies helped get things started. However, I think we would’ve been just fine without assistance.

BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

Drawbridge is revitalizing disadvantaged communities through repurposing distressed real estate. We leverage proprietary technology, bringing together necessary stakeholders and increasing accessibility to vital information, to help disadvantaged communities find their next life.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Mobcoder?

Mobcoder helped us convey our mission and dream into a physical product, a reality that will help revitalize underserved communities around the US, and eventually the world!

What were your goals for this project?

Our goal was to reshape our platform and provide a user friendly interface to easily engage with for us, the admins, as well as our clients.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We engaged with Aloa (aloa.co), who paired us up with Mobcoder to develop our project. We now have a long-standing relationship with Mobcoder.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

They provided a platform that included integrations to third parties such as ESRI, Tableau, and Smartsheets. We had custom solutions to build out portfolios and profiles of clients, as well as a fully functioning Administrative side of the platform.

What was the team composition?

We had one project manager and roughly 4 developers who were engaged throughout the project.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

This had tremendous impact on our business. We have been demoing the project to potential clients and they have loved it. It has been a great step forward for our business.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

The project management was great and well facilitated by Ashutosh and Rohit.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their relationship focus and determination to get the job done were impressive!

Are there any areas for improvement?

Nope.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

Our app is a marketplace for cleaners and I am the CEO and founder.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Mobcoder?

We had previously built a beta with another firm but it has bugs. When we decided to add upgrades to the app, we reached out to Mobcoder.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

The first thing they did was understand the previous build and remove the bugs that it had. They then added functions to optimize usability and a feature that allows the cleaners to set their own price, making the app a true marketplace.

Previously, the app was a Node.js databased and they kept it that way, doing frontend development for both iOS and Android versions.

What is the team composition?

I am in direct contact with three people including the project manager, Ashutosh (Co-Founder & CEO), and a backend developer.

How did you come to work with Mobcoder?

I found a few app developers and founders on Aloa and ultimately chose Mobcoder.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around $20,000 in total on an hourly rate.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in October 2019 and we’re still working with them.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

One of the biggest challenges for this project was understanding the previous code and then adding new code to make sure that they integrated seamlessly. We have a lot of users so the app had to be live throughout the project and Mobcoder achieved that.

How did Mobcoder perform from a project management standpoint?

We have periodic check-ins with Ashutosh and the project manager and they have stayed within the schedule and budget.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They have a sense of urgency and ownership during every build and sprint so it feels like I have my own tech team. They are very responsive and work relentlessly. When we’ve had a few breakdowns in the middle of the night, we’ve texted them and within 3–4 hours, someone has come to debug the issues.

Are there any areas they could improve?

When they were putting in the new code, the documentation could’ve been a little more standardized. We talked to them about it and they’ve begun to be a little more rigorous with their code documentation.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Have a very clear understanding of your technical needs. Any development firm that comes in usually doesn’t have business experience so it’s impossible to ask them to fully understand your business.  If you don’t have specific asks, the process can get a little messy because the developers have to figure out your business and the technology.
