Intergalactic was hired on to deliver a set of ideas on how to increase shopper engagement and brand affinity in a retail environment. They did this through delivering multiple exploratory creative ideas back to us and through that, we landed on one idea we both though would fit our budget, meet our goals and deliver the experience we desired. 

Through multiple creative and technical checks over a 6 month period, Intergalactic was thorough in their design, setting expectations around what was and wasn't in scope, extremely collaborative and always willing to listen to our ideas. In the end, they delivered a URL based experience that drove consumers into retail, drove brand affinity and purchase of our products.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

There were over 5K users of this experience, which exceeded our expectations. In addition, sales of our products did rise during this time, which both the retailer and our franchise were satisfied with.

Intergalactic was extremely responsive throughout the entire process. They laid out a strong set of milestones up front, including needs from our side. They delivered on these milestones and would always respond to any additional needs we introduced.

The creativity around the ideas they came up with for us. They were at the forefront of innovation, which showed in the final product.

Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

Intergalactic was contracted by Station Casinos to essentially do the heavy lifting in creating the STN Charms project, with the key stages being: 

1. Project scope/estimate - discovery work to determine total cost and timeline to create product 
2. UX / Design / R&D - user experience design for marketplace, design theme, establish main functionality desired. Design CMS. Gameplay design for quests logic. R&D for Mintable's and Station Casinos' APIs. 
3. Development of Charm API - setup cloud infrastructure, charm creation in CMS, charm series, charm drop, integration of STN API and message query, process luck data, Mintable API integration. 
4. Development of Charm Marketplace / Charm Shop - payments / KYC integration, wallet integration, security review. 
5. Creation of custom charm artwork, static and animated, to be displayed on slot machines and on the website.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

• Amount of NFT custodial wallets created
• Amount of Charm NFTs distributed 
• Overall engagement/attention/interest in the program 
• Increased time on device on slot machines 
• Increased crossover play to other areas of our casinos in order to earn new charms 
• Addition of younger guests to our database
• Transactional activity on the charms website

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

It is truly hard to keep track of how many components of this project were not only a first for Station Casinos but a first for the entire casino industry as well. As we soon discovered, when creating so many aspects that have never been done, you are bound to run into new/unexpected problems.

These naturally caused timeline delays, but it would be categorically unfair to blame these delays on the Intergalactic team - their team routinely worked through the weekend in order to ensure everything was ready for the Charms program and unfortunately even had to do double work numerous times based on new/changing requirements provided to them by our team. 

The IG team kept our needs as a top priority and were extremely responsive.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Intergalactic is a small company that is armed with a fairly small team of devs, yet I found it extremely impressive how the team worked together cohesively to ensure that the necessary tasks were completed by the necessary deadlines. In an environment where it was easy to make excuses, they chose to find solutions.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Intergalactic Agency Inc. could have done differently?

Their project manager was located in a time zone that made communication very difficult and resulted in them being almost a non-factor. There were benefits from this, however, as it created an extremely open dialogue with myself (program/project lead) and the IG dev team.
