If I have any problems at all that need to be solved, their door is open. They showed me how to do different things on the backend when it could’ve been easy for them to charge me more money. - No discussion of risk or what could go wrong. Senior consultants have lived through failed migrations and over-budget implementations; firms that present everything as low-risk haven't been around long enough.
- Pricing without scope clarity. "Phase 1: Discovery — TBD" is a recipe for budget surprises.
- No clean handoff plan. A firm that wants you dependent on them indefinitely isn't selling consulting; they're selling a meter.
