I’m the VP of IT for a commercial insurance company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Technology Advisors?

We needed a company that could help us customize and implement a CRM software.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Technology Advisors customized and implemented a CRM software for us. We started this project with a discovery phase, where we discussed what we were trying to do with the CRM software as well as the process of building it and implementing it into our infrastructure. After that, we created a mock-up, conducted a test run to see if it works well within our infrastructure, and then implemented it into the production environment.

We’ve worked with 2-6 people from Technology Advisors, depending on what we need.

How did you come to work with Technology Advisors?

Technology Advisors was recommended to us by another company that we had previously worked with.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in December 2015, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We don't track metrics because we're very specialized in what we do. Our main evidence for success is whether we get something done and whether it works. In this case, the project has been a success.

How did Technology Advisors perform from a project management standpoint?

Technology Advisors has performed well in terms of project management. They’re always available whenever we need them We always feel like we’re their only customer, which is why we’ve been with them for so long.

They've been very good with setting expectations in terms of timelines and budgets. If anything does ever go over budget, they're always very transparent about it, and then it just comes up to us whether we still want to do it or not. Their communication has also been exceptional.

We typically communicate through Zoom, phone calls, and emails.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m most impressed with Technology Advisors’ impeccable knowledge of our software. There’s probably been only one time when they couldn’t answer a question, and that’s only because they were not privy to the software at that time.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure to give them everything they need to implement or build whatever it is you’re trying to accomplish.

We needed help in custom software development.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Technology Advisors has supported us in reviewing and replacing our current CMS. They’ve helped us prepare our platforms’ frontend to become ready for the conversion.

From there, Technology Advisors has merged our two databases into one, and they’ve remotely handled the entire process using a cloud-based product. After the database integration, they’ve trained our team about the new CMS.

I’ve worked with 5–10 resources, including a project manager.

Someone referred Technology Advisors to me.

We’ve spent over $100,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working together since February 2021, and our relationship is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Technology Advisors has successfully merged our databases. The new system has saved us time and money, as it streamlines our operations. I’m mostly satisfied with their work, and they’ve exceeded my expectations. 

How did Technology Advisors perform from a project management standpoint?

Technology Advisors has kept the project within budget. We have weekly calls about their progress, and any delays or bottlenecks have been from our side. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Technology Advisors understands workflow and processes, allowing them to help us find functionalities that we haven’t previously had. They’re experts at what they do, and it has been a good experience working with them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything.

Be prepared to understand how your company works. If you’re not prepared, you’ll end up wasting time.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Technology Advisors?

We need to to migrate from our current CRM tool to Hubspot CRM. This would allow greater integration with CRM and Marketing tools as well as allow for wider adoption of good CRM practices.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Not sure of selection process. Company had experience of both CRM systems involved in the migration.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

Kick- off meeting identified key data sets that need to be part of the migration. Clean-up of existing data, field mapping and new fields in the target CRM tool were created. TechAdvisors assisted with best practices on working with Hubspot and created initial templates and workflows to get us going.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We interfaced with the project manager and she liaised with support and developer resources for migration/integration.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The project came in on time with good adoption of the new CRM product. The TechAdvisors team made themselves available post- migration for any addtional assistance.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Process was well structured and updates were timely.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They kept to task and kept us outcome-focused. The team was helpful and communicative.
