We had a dedicated PM for the entire project and she was amazing. BTG was timely to meetings and gad agendas ready as well as foll ups completed. They were extremely responsive to our needs.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their culture is extremely positive and driven by the success of their clients.  This was an amazing attmosphere to work in during the project.  All of their teammates seemed to really enjoy their jobs and working on our project.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Build Technology Group could have done differently?

Virtual meetings can be difficult to spin projects up in, especially complex one, but they handled this well and even invited us on-site when problems we were addressing got difficult.

Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

We asked BTG to do a detailed assessment of our Point-of-Sale system that is used at across all of our ~700 stores and our Field Support offices. The POS is a legacy system that has been in place for over 20 years and had overgrown it's initial target use. We did not have the internal knowledge or bandwidth to do the assessment, so we leveraged the BTG team to do so. 

Their key deliverables were to were broken out into a few milestones:

1. Fully document all of the areas within the codebase and what they are intended to do, what areas of the code are no longer in use but still active and what areas of the code are not meant to be used in a POS transaction. 
2. Provide a recommendation for each are of the application that should not live in a POS to where it should move to.
3. Provide a long term modernization plan for our in branch system in how we can be more API driven in our processes to remove internal processing speed concerns.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The intial assessment was a huge success. We recieved more detail and documentation about our system than we had seen in years. We were able to get a full view of the features in use, features to be retired and our long term plan to provide a world-class experience for our end users. We turned the asssement findings into a work stream to continue our relationship with BTG.

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

Project management from BTG was well done, and they tried to fit their processes into the SiteOne application development process to make things as easy as possible. We had to modify a few of our processes, but ultimately we were able to complete the project ontime and within budget. Build Technology Group has been very responsive and customized their reporting and financials to meet our needs.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their ability to adapt to our changing or shifting in our project priorities. If we needed them to start donig some remediation durin the process they were able to allocate resources and work in parallel. We needed to shift to do analysis and comparison for a large acqusition and the BTG team was able to assist.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Build Technology Group could have done differently?
