We used Basecamp to keep our to-do list. That’s where she kept our timelines as well. I’m a big Basecamp user, so I didn’t have any issues with it. They were very efficient in the way that they used Basecamp. They had a numbering system so that in each version of the site, everything was assigned a number and then a letter for the device that we were on. And then the to-do was given a title and then we elaborated on it in the comment section. That process worked very well because instead of having to go, “Remember that thing I said about the search bar?” we had a number to refer to so we were sure we were talking about the same thing.

Jess, our project manager, was easily the best project manager I’ve ever worked with. The way they organized the whole process was the most streamlined approach I’ve ever seen. I can’t even put into words how impressed I was with the design experience, from start to finish: the wireframing and then laying out the information I gave them in the most comprehensive way possible. They didn’t “yes” me to death, which is something I really appreciated. If I made suggestions, they didn’t just automatically say, “Yes, we’ll do that.” We talked through it; they gave me different scenarios.

One of the worst parts of building a website is gathering and organizing content. Forix took a really basic approach to it, but it was basic and it worked. They used spreadsheets to streamline things so I could plug and play. I entered the content and they took it from there, and it made the whole process seamless. We rarely if ever missed a development deadline. If we missed a deadline, it was a decision that we made together because we opted to include more things or move things around. They stayed on time and on the budget, which pretty much never happens on a website project.
