We needed to create a site that authentically spoke to our audience, highlighted our services, captured new customer leads, and engaged visitors. The project was on time and on budget.

We worked with Steelhead to build out our online web presence. As a newer company experiencing rapid growth, we hadn’t had time to build out much of a digital footprint yet. It was time for us to expand and we were looking for the right partner. 

Service company websites tend to have a standard look and feel; it was important to us to stand out and have a professional-looking site that felt “leveled up” compared to our competition. We feel like we achieved that goal. 

Steelhead designed and built our public-facing website. This included a step-by-step design process starting with a discovery call to learn about our challenges and goals. DMPC Clutch Review 3 From there we reviewed wireframes and final designs. Everything was signed off on prior to moving to the next step so everyone was on the same page. 

We had designs for the desktop and for different device sizes so it looked good on everything. We do both new construction plumbing and service plumbing, which is not the case for all plumbing companies. The site we received reflected both of these revenue streams really well. 

Early on, Steelhead made sure they were clear on where we wanted to go with the business so they could highlight those areas in the site design. While Steelhead created the site layout, we built out our site content. We needed to create this from scratch since we didn’t have a website at the time. 

Steelhead provided us with a template and helped us refine the content as they built out the site so that it was optimal for the web. Our site is configured so that we can edit the content or add new content ourselves. That keeps us moving fast and keeps costs low because we don’t need to rely on someone else to make easy changes to the site.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

So far things have been great. We’ve received really strong feedback from our customers about the website. From an SEO standpoint, we’ve achieved some super fast ranking results as well.

Steelhead was clear about the budget and timeframe upfront. We ended up coming in well below the high range of their estimate. They met their timeline commitments and helped us stay on top of our own “homework” during the project.

We really liked how well Steelhead responded to change during our review processes. They took our feedback to heart and made sure it was incorporated into the next revision. If they disagreed with our suggestions, they always had a well-thought-out opinion and weren’t afraid to have a discussion with us. We had a lot of “future” ideas for the site, and Steelhead made sure to build something that could incorporate those in the future.

We partnered with Steelhead to rebuild our old custom enterprise software application. After 20+ years, our existing software could no longer support our scale and was holding us back. Steelhead designed & built our new software and project managed the entire process. 

The software Steelhead delivered has saved us countless hours of labor and eliminated risks associated with manual data entry. We’ve scaled our transaction volume by 25% YOY without adding any additional staff and reduced our invoicing overhead by 98%. 

We process thousands of inventory transactions a year with tens of millions of inventory units. Within each of those transactions, we track very precise measurements, weights, and costs of each unit. Combined with tight margins, this makes our storage and invoicing processes complex and tedious. 

We needed a system that could keep up with our volume and our level of precision. At a high level, the software Steelhead built includes custom inventory management, purchase orders, sales orders, storage levels, and reporting. 

Storage charges are calculated automatically based on the storage location, time of receipt, rate, and other configurations. Invoices are generated automatically each month based on accrued storage charges and fees. Steelhead also built several high-powered web reports for us. 

We have a complex commission system for our brokers, which is facilitated by one of these reports. Again, we deal with high volumes of very precise information and our commissions depend on that precision. Other reports give our customers direct visibility into our available inventory and upcoming deliveries.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

As mentioned above, we’ve had years of 20%+ YOY growth in our transaction volume unlocked by this software. We’ve also reduced time to calculate our storage invoices by 98%. 

The cashflow and cost saving benefit there is obvious, but we’ve also eliminated the mistakes that come with manual data entry. This was all achieved without adding additional staff. We process tens of millions of inventory units each year through this single application and a handful of key employees.

Steelhead delivered on time and on budget. They were extremely responsive to our needs. Throughout the project they were always transparent about what we were doing and how we were doing. 

We participated in project check-ins every two weeks that included a demo of working software and a budget & timeline review. Like most enterprises, we have an internal IT team. Steelhead worked with them throughout the project to make sure the new software complied with our internal security policies. 

After we released the software, Steelhead remained responsive. Our business depends on the software, so having reliable support is non-negotiable. They were with us the entire way, including spending time with us on site during launch.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We were impressed with Steelhead’s focus on building the right solution for us. They really took the time to understand our business processes and our goals. This made it much easier for us to adopt the new software because it was built on top of our existing practices that we already understood. 

And it’s worth mentioning again how responsive Steelhead is when we need support. It’s a huge relief knowing we have the attention of the team that built our software.

Before working with Steelhead, we didn’t have a website. We needed to step up from using our Facebook page and build out a more professional web presence. Steelhead designed and built our website for us. We use the site to talk about the different services we offer, collect reviews, and get service scheduled. We opted to have Steelhead create the content for our site as well. 

This involved a series of conversations about what we do, why we’re different, our target market, and Whirlwind HVAC Clutch Review 3 where we want to take the business. Then we saw these conversations reflected in the website content. Later in the project, Steelhead also expanded the site to include a shopping cart add-on that upsells HVAC parts (like filters) to customers. They collaborated with a third-party vendor and ensured we got what we needed done.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We received some good feedback about our site from employees and others in the industry. It was awesome to be able to collect reviews about our great work and start showing up in Google searches. The addition of the shopping cart has also been a nice side revenue stream for us.
