Software Technology Group is building a database and survey-based program. The team is currently in the first of two phases.
The team is creative and easy to work with. Although they have quality output, the phase one delivery is nearly a month late. The partnership, while enjoyable, needs formal project management workflows to ensure timeliness. Repeated fixes have also contributed to delays and higher costs.

What is the team composition?

We did an online search and found them through the local chamber; we’re both members. We hired the team after an initial meeting and reviewing their past work.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent approximately $41,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them in January 2018 and the partnership is ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We don’t have metrics because they haven’t concluded phase one yet. We just met yesterday to fix bugs.
How did Software Technology Group perform from a project management standpoint?
We don’t have a project manager or any dedicated tools in place. Instead, we meet to identify tasks and then follow-up. Formalizing that process is their biggest opportunity for improvement.

They feel like part of our team and produce creative options that meet our set guidelines. Despite the project management issues, we plan to go forward with phase two because they’re an enjoyable team to work with.
Are there any areas they could improve?
The project management workflow needs specific dates and tasks, as well as follow-up, to ensure timely completions. Utilizing such a system would benefit the partnership.
