We usually communicate through email, but we also use BitBucket, where they upload the code. I can see it there and monitor their project. My own team then inspects the code to make sure it’s viable. Sometimes, there will be an error for some reason, and we’ll talk to them about it and they’ll fix it pretty quickly.

The CTO was in daily communication with me, even over weekends when necessary. Their time zone difference actually worked in our favor, allowing the app to be developed faster since they were able to incorporate our feedback or any change requests before we came back into the office the next morning. They delivered a very high-quality product that incorporated all of our feedback very well, delivering ahead of schedule and at a competitive rate.
