My only suggestion would be to maybe have a bank of training resources for the wide range of tools WebFX offers. There's so much WebFX can do and I love the live trainings they offer, but sometimes it could be useful to have recording trainings that can be accessed on demand.

They were able to lower our Cost Per Click in Google Ads from $25 PPC to $5 PPC. This worked very well for Google Ads ROI. They have a fantastic team that understands the Google Ads subspace and is able to create competitive online ads. We have seen improvements in our website’s organic presence. The visual aspects of the redesign on our website are very current with the client demographic we are hoping to attract.

Since we are church, this was unknown territory for a SEO company. WebFx did not give up or relegate us to a side project. They worked really hard to find opportunities for us. I’m the office manager at PASunrooms. We build sunrooms and home additions. We do some commercial, but 90% of what we do is for residential buildings.

What challenge were you trying to address with WebFX?

We had a website for years, but we weren’t really using it. As we began to move more and more into the digital age, we realized that we were missing out on a big chunk of business possibilities.

We started looking around and interviewed several companies to revamp our website and work with us as a digital marketer.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Initially, we contracted WebFX to redesign our website. We spent several months going back and forth with the sites we had and redesigning them with new pictures, colors, and different things to try to grab people's attention when they land on our website.

The biggest thing about the redesign was the update on our contact form. They made it easier to fill out information so we could follow up and make appointments with people interested in sunrooms. In our old website, we had a contact form but we weren’t getting the information. Some of it was user error because we weren’t as savvy as we should’ve been about how the site worked and how to get information off of it.

WebFX streamlined the process so we could get the information almost immediately when people filled out the contact form. They also worked with us to make the contact form short and simple. Our original one asked too many questions, and we decided that was a turnoff.

When the site went live, we continued to meet with WebFX to analyze the metrics so we could see who was going to our site, if we were reaching the people we wanted, what we could do better, and what changes we needed to make. Now, we use WebFX as our Internet marketer. They’ve developed an SEO strategy and campaign, and a PPC campaign. They do blog pages for us, and they’ve really been making sure that our Internet presence is what it’s supposed to be.

What is the team composition?

For the redesign, we worked with 2–3 people that were part of their design team. They were responsible for taking our input and translating it into the website we wanted. We worked with them for several months, and then we were transferred to an implementation team until the site was up and running. There were probably two people on that team.

Ultimately, we were switched to an Internet marketing team. We had someone assigned to our account, so now we deal with one person on an ongoing basis.

How did you come to work with WebFX?

One of the founders went to college with my daughter, so I knew him before he went to WebFX. I really liked him and thought it was worth a shot because we knew we wanted to go in that direction.

We interviewed several companies, but part of the reason we went with them was that they were predominantly young — most of them were under 30. We were a small company, and we were all over 30, so we wanted to work with a company that really understood Internet marketing and could explain it to us in order to make smart decisions going forward. WebFX was both respectful of what we knew and accommodating to the fact that we had a lot to learn.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve probably spent between $50,000–$70,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in August 2017, and we have an ongoing partnership.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

First, we basically saw an increase in the number of appointments that were made. When someone called, we made an appointment and asked how they heard about us. More and more, we were hearing customers saying they’d found us through Google or that once they’d found us, they'd filled out the contact form on the website.

We’re still seeing growth through our SEO and PPC campaigns, and WebFX suggests ways to make them better on a regular basis. We continue to spend a significant amount of money every month with them, so it’s important that we still feel that we have a productive partnership.

How did WebFX perform from a project management standpoint?

Overall, I don’t have any complaints. If my Internet marketer doesn’t have the answer to something, they have a whole slew of people behind the scenes, so they can get the answers and then get back to us in a pretty timely fashion.

They’ve been really responsive, and they’re great to work with. Every time we have an idea, they’re very receptive. Even though we’ve been working with them for several years, I don’t feel that we’re on the back burner or that they don’t really care about us anymore.

We meet with them once a month to look at our metrics, fine-tune our strategy, and move forward to make changes. They still seem to be working on our account, so I don’t feel like anything has gotten stale.

We initially met them in person, and then we went to Zoom. They have multiple marketing tools, and we have access through them because they’re linked to our account. We go into the WebFx webpage and there are certain things within their marketing cloud that we can access — performance metrics, different kinds of competitor analysis, and different Google analytics.

What did you find most impressive about them?

It’s probably both their professionalism and their ability to listen to what we want and give us concrete ideas on how to accomplish those goals.

Are there any areas they could improve?

During the design process, we occasionally felt that things were taking longer than they should, but I don’t know if those were unrealistic expectations on our part.

Overall, WebFX has worked really hard to have good communication and give us realistic expectations. I don’t really have negative things to say about them.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Whether you go with WebFX or some other company, you need to look at both short and long-term goals and have clear milestones. When we first met with WebFX, they gave us a timeline that marked where we would be by any point in time. We had very concrete goals, and they were good at meeting them.

Therefore, I would encourage someone who was looking at potentially partnering with an Internet company of any kind, to make sure that they have specific goals and they hold the company accountable because it’s really easy to get lost in the shuffle.

We once had an issue where our blogs disconnected from our organic traffic on Google. This resulted in a dip in our traffic for a short time period. The fault came from our Web developer making changes without notifying us or WebFX.

However, once WebFX caught the issue and we addressed the situation we were able to make the changes necessary to make sure the issue never happened again. This level of conflict resolution was a Professional standard that went above and beyond our expectations. That being said, we have had no other problems or lack of anything in all areas.

We were working with the same digital agency for several years but kept running into issues. We didn’t see the results that we expected, so we weren’t seeing year-over-year growth in site traffic or web leads.

WebFX learned about our business and then developed a plan to move forward with improving our digital marketing initiatives. During the past two months, their team audited our website and keyword strategy for SEO and PPC campaigns. They’re now keyword mapping, which involves determining whether or not to add or remove keywords. That process applies to our SEO and PPC initiatives. Their team is also in the process of revising all of our web pages to integrate keywords.

After giving them our business, I liked that I was passed onto the digital marketer working on our account. There wasn’t a middleman like we had with our previous digital agency, which caused disconnect and miscommunication. I liked knowing that I would be working with someone who would have their hands in our SEO strategy with WebFX.

I also liked that they offered earned media points. Based on the level of activity and length of our engagement, our company receives earned media points to put towards SEO efforts or a blog article. No other agency offered that to us. I was also impressed with their proprietary marketing cloud.

The engagement started in February 2021, and we plan to have an ongoing relationship with WebFX.

As they only started in February, it’s hard to provide metrics. We can basically only look to March for results. The turnover with our previous agency also skewed the numbers. However, WebFX stays on course. We’re seeing great results.

WebFX offers services that other agencies don’t. Their team stays true to their offerings. They’re a sophisticated and credible agency.

How did WebFX perform from a project management standpoint?

I receive at least a weekly update, so I know exactly where the project stands and what’s next. Their proprietary marketing cloud provides great transparency. I know who’s working on different tasks and have complete visibility into the account. I’m impressed with their tools.

Their team’s friendly and gives great customer service. Their response time’s quick, and they’re right on time with deadlines.

I’m impressed with their marketing cloud and proprietary tools. Project management ties into them. WebFX is on top of their responsibilities, so auditing the website and implementing a strategy. We brought WebFx back in 2016 to revamp our current website at the time and start to develop an SEO strategy because none existed at that time. We are a lean team internally, so it is important that we choose the right partner whenever we outsource any project. They successfully redesigned our website and also helped us create a HubSpot landing page and email templates that match our brand. 

They continue to monitor the site's health with regular site speed optimization audits and are our go-to if anything goes down or wrong (which rarely happens, but it does happen). Once the website was live, they also built an SEO strategy for our business from the ground up since we did not have anyone internally responsible for our company's search engine performance. 

They still monitor and advise on our SEO strategy, and we have seen consistent year-over-year growth in our SEO performance while working with WebFx. We rank for several keywords, and we could not have done that without their expertise. 

Additionally, about two years ago, we added LinkedIn advertising services with WebFx. They now design (with our approval) and monitor our paid LinkedIn campaigns. They successfully manage the creatives and placement of the ads and keep us up to date on ad performance.

The WebFX team's project management skills are unmatched. They are super organized within their team, and it comes across to ours. It never feels like someone on their side is left out of the loop, and always feels like everyone is on the same page. 

They consistently deliver items on time. I don't think I can recall a time when something was late or off schedule. They are quick to respond to any communication (which, from me, is usually via email), and even if they can't get you an answer right away, they tell you when you can expect an answer.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I think what is most impressive is their ability to integrate themselves as part of your team. We have been working with WebFX for several years, and we have no plans to move away from them anytime soon. They knew our business, our team, and how we operated internally, and that was invaluable to us. They have a great culture at WebFx, and we definitely see that when we work with them.

Are there any areas for improvement or something WebFX could have done differently?

When I get asked this question, it is always hard for me to find an answer. I feel like they consistently go above and beyond when it comes to servicing our account, and I have no complaints.

We didn't have a lot of metadata on our sites, we had no site map and we knew we needed content and an advisor on how to move forward with PPC ads. WebFX helped us with all of these, and were very transparent about everything that they did to ensure that we were optimized for search.

We wanted to build our content ourselves, so we switched to link earning and it helped as well. WebFX still gave us a number of topics that would boost our site if we made content surrounding these topics. They also would take our new content and would edit it for optimal keywords, etc.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We saw very big boosts in our PPC traffic, and after 3 months we started seeing our unique visitors go up tremendously, probably around 50% growth from our 6 months, which is great.

The calendar on their platform helped with transparency in what they were performing for us. I enjoyed the weekly calls to make sure everyone's on the same page. Everything was on time.

Some upfront explanation on their fuelFX resources and how we can utilize them, how many we get monthly, etc. Just never had that explained.
