What challenge were you trying to address with WebFX?

We were working with the same digital agency for several years but kept running into issues. We didn’t see the results that we expected, so we weren’t seeing year-over-year growth in site traffic or web leads.

What was the scope of their involvement?

WebFX learned about our business and then developed a plan to move forward with improving our digital marketing initiatives. During the past two months, their team audited our website and keyword strategy for SEO and PPC campaigns. They’re now keyword mapping, which involves determining whether or not to add or remove keywords. That process applies to our SEO and PPC initiatives. Their team is also in the process of revising all of our web pages to integrate keywords.

What is the team composition?

Initially, I spoke with a business specialist. She sent us the proposal and demonstrated their offerings during the vetting process. After awarding WebFX the business, I began working with a digital marketing specialist, Alexa (Internet Marketing Specialist)

How did you come to work with WebFX?

I heard about WebFX through Clutch. We vetted a few agencies, and I liked what I found with WebFX. After giving them our business, I liked that I was passed onto the digital marketer working on our account. There wasn’t a middleman like we had with our previous digital agency, which caused disconnect and miscommunication. I liked knowing that I would be working with someone who would have their hands in our SEO strategy with WebFX.

I also liked that they offered earned media points. Based on the level of activity and length of our engagement, our company receives earned media points to put towards SEO efforts or a blog article. No other agency offered that to us. I was also impressed with their proprietary marketing cloud.

We’ve spent less than $10,000 so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

The engagement started in February 2021, and we plan to have an ongoing relationship with WebFX.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

As they only started in February, it’s hard to provide metrics. We can basically only look to March for results. The turnover with our previous agency also skewed the numbers. However, WebFX stays on course. We’re seeing great results.

WebFX offers services that other agencies don’t. Their team stays true to their offerings. They’re a sophisticated and credible agency.

How did WebFX perform from a project management standpoint?

I receive at least a weekly update, so I know exactly where the project stands and what’s next. Their proprietary marketing cloud provides great transparency. I know who’s working on different tasks and have complete visibility into the account. I’m impressed with their tools.

Their team’s friendly and gives great customer service. Their response time’s quick, and they’re right on time with deadlines.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m impressed with their marketing cloud and proprietary tools. Project management ties into them. WebFX is on top of their responsibilities, so auditing the website and implementing a strategy. Even though our business’s complex, their team quickly understood it and began targeting keywords to attract new audiences and leads.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It’s only been two months, and I haven’t come across anything for them to improve. My advice to WebFX would be to communicate their marketing cloud and analytics tools more to clients. It’s one of their selling features and competitive advantages.

Since beginning to work with them, I learned more about WebFX’s offerings. It’s an extensive and impressive list.

We brought WebFx back in 2016 to revamp our current website at the time and start to develop an SEO strategy because none existed at that time. We are a lean team internally, so it is important that we choose the right partner whenever we outsource any project. They successfully redesigned our website and also helped us create a HubSpot landing page and email templates that match our brand. 

They continue to monitor the site's health with regular site speed optimization audits and are our go-to if anything goes down or wrong (which rarely happens, but it does happen). Once the website was live, they also built an SEO strategy for our business from the ground up since we did not have anyone internally responsible for our company's search engine performance. 

They still monitor and advise on our SEO strategy, and we have seen consistent year-over-year growth in our SEO performance while working with WebFx. We rank for several keywords, and we could not have done that without their expertise. 

Additionally, about two years ago, we added LinkedIn advertising services with WebFx. They now design (with our approval) and monitor our paid LinkedIn campaigns. They successfully manage the creatives and placement of the ads and keep us up to date on ad performance.

The WebFX team's project management skills are unmatched. They are super organized within their team, and it comes across to ours. It never feels like someone on their side is left out of the loop, and always feels like everyone is on the same page. 

They consistently deliver items on time. I don't think I can recall a time when something was late or off schedule. They are quick to respond to any communication (which, from me, is usually via email), and even if they can't get you an answer right away, they tell you when you can expect an answer.

I think what is most impressive is their ability to integrate themselves as part of your team. We didn't have a lot of metadata on our sites, we had no site map and we knew we needed content and an advisor on how to move forward with PPC ads. WebFX helped us with all of these, and were very transparent about everything that they did to ensure that we were optimized for search.

We wanted to build our content ourselves, so we switched to link earning and it helped as well. WebFX still gave us a number of topics that would boost our site if we made content surrounding these topics. They also would take our new content and would edit it for optimal keywords, etc.

We saw very big boosts in our PPC traffic, and after 3 months we started seeing our unique visitors go up tremendously, probably around 50% growth from our 6 months, which is great.

The calendar on their platform helped with transparency in what they were performing for us. I enjoyed the weekly calls to make sure everyone's on the same page. Everything was on time.

WebFX does a good job of managing projects. Anthony, our project manager, doesn't excellent job of keeping us on track with tasks and timelines. I believe some things that WebFX does, like building websites, take way too long.

They have helped increase traffic to the website and to our local Google Business profiles, which has then lead to an increase in form fills and phone calls. They have helped us change the focus of our PPC from general heavy equipment ads to a recruitment campaign.

WebFX always responds to our needs quickly and delivered all their promised content on time. They also always stay on top of ongoing projects or issues that needed to be worked out. These guys take great notes and truly make you feel like your success is their success.

WebFX never brags about how knowledgeable they are or how much they can do for us, as opposed to other companies we looked into. They just put our needs first, then do great work and let that speak for itself. They are always ready to serve and are a steady partner we can trust and count on. This aligns right along with our business philosophy so it's a great match!

Are there any areas for improvement or something WebFX could have done differently?

I've noticed that some of the employees at WebFX tend to be on the younger side and therefore, may not be as well versed in decorum and tend to have a slightly more casual way of speaking when conversing with their elders. Don't get me wrong, no one has ever been rude or unprofessional.

However, we sometimes have division presidents and vice presidents on video calls with us and it's just made me slightly uncomfortable when they are speaking with the WebFX employee. And it's only a couple individuals, not everyone. It's fine when it's just myself and other members of my marketing team because we tend to be more casual anyway since we are more familiar with the WebFX team. It's just a nuanced thing I've noticed.
