SDSpro provides chemical and safety management services clients that need to control their product use and inventory. We source and index data sheets, making them available via electronic format. We also do product offerings.

What challenge were you trying to address with Trupp Global?

We needed an outside agency to provide sourcing and indexing services when we experienced a large influx of work. The team had to work efficiently on large-scale projects.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They handle most of our sourcing and indexing. Sourcing involves obtaining documents from specific resources, most often safety data sheets [SDS] from manufacturers.

Trupp makes outbound calls or efforts to get documents directly from these companies. The team collects what we’re not able to and indexes the data into our online system. They also do PDF separation and spreadsheet manipulation, matching, and clean up.

What is the team composition?

I work only with the account manager that we trained. He liaises tasks and questions between his team and me directly.

How did you come to work with Trupp Global?

They contacted us through email looking for work. I assigned them a project and retained them because they were proficient.

What is the status of this engagement?

Work started in 2012 and it is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We do an internal quality review and also solicit feedback from our downline at the end of each project. The team is very responsive to problems, which are limited but occur in any business environment.

Their work is top tier and the best of three that we engage. Although prices between these firms vary, we’re happy with the value they produce.

How did Trupp Global perform from a project management standpoint?

The setup is beneficial. Other teams have multiple account managers, which is less convenient than dealing with one person. I give the account manager instructions at the project’s start and know it’s completed when he tells me directly.

What did you find most impressive about them?

There are always problems in the service industry, but their ability to resolve issues is the best we’ve seen.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I can’t think of anything.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Don't underestimate their resources. They're able to scale team compositions as needed. For a while, we didn’t utilize them to the fullest extent because we didn't know the level of their availability and resources.

We sell web-based software to the safety community. We operate globally but focus primarily on North America. Our clients include manufacturers, municipalities, and healthcare facilities.

What challenge were you trying to address with Trupp Global?

We needed outsourcing partners to perform data entry work, saving us the cost of executing these tasks in-house.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Our clients maintain a collection of data sheets in order to comply with OSHA regulations. They send us this information, we create PDF files, and then send these records to Trupp. From here, their team uploads the files onto our web-based software, entering the data so our clients can access it from our online library.

They also reach out to suppliers for us to ensure we have their most recent product descriptions.

What is the team composition?

We have daily contact with the project manager and also communicate directly with Trupp’s owner.

How did you come to work with Trupp Global?

I believe we ran a Google search for BPO and outsourced data entry, though it’s also possible that Naveed [Founder & CEO, Trupp Global] reached out to us. We gave them a few test assignments, they provided estimates, and we’ve used them ever since.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent more than $200,000 over the last eight years. Our volume was small when we first started, but we’ve grown significantly since then.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in 2009 and our relationship is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We monitor their quality and scheduling very closely and we’ve been very pleased with their results. After working together so long, we often trust them to turn a project over to a client without checking their quality.

We’re approached by their competitors weekly, but we’ve never entertained the idea of working with anyone else.

How did Trupp Global perform from a project management standpoint?

We use a shared Google spreadsheet to monitor projects and track updates. They almost always deliver on time and they’re very responsive.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They pay close attention to detail, ensuring high quality while also recognizing that efficient turnaround is imperative for the satisfaction of our clients. They also offer competitive pricing.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We’re completely satisfied. I can’t think of anything.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Give Trupp a trial project. Be clear about your expectations, but I’m confident they’ll produce satisfying deliverables if you decide to move forward with the partnership.

Introduce your business and what you do there.

Our company is a software technology company. We provide data and analytics to investors and we’re branching out to include home services and positioning ourselves as a marketing tool for small businesses. I’m the research manager.

What challenge were you trying to address with Trupp Global?

We had a few different providers of data who were underperforming. We were also doing a lot of manual in-house abstracting of data. Those were not cost effective and the quality was very low. We wanted to find a replacement that was superior in quality and software.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They’ve done several projects for us, but the current one they’re working on involves abstracting notice data, including noticing of trust sales and defaults. Our data providers are sometimes slow. We have other data providers that provide the majority of our data, but we use the Trupp Global team to fill in the gaps where the others get behind. They manually abstract 40 or 50 different data points for us. Trupp Global is pretty flexible and can do a lot of different things.

What is the team composition? 

I initially was talking to someone who dealt with all of our questions and onboarded us. As we moved forward, Thilip [Co-Founder, Trupp Global] worked with us on more of the details. We currently work with a small team and have additional resources in case one of them is absent.

How did you come to work with Trupp Global?

I did online searches for people who provided what we were looking for. I looked through 50 different companies and determined which were reliable and responsive when I emailed them. I narrowed it down to 5 or 6 and then contacted those and got more in-depth with them to determine prices and giving them a good idea of what we were looking for. There were a couple who were pretty well-equipped to deal with what we were looking for but Trupp Global was a little better than the rest. Their pricing was great and they were responsive anytime I contacted them.

How much have you invested with them?

They’re very competitive in their pricing. We currently have multiple people as full-time resources.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in May or June of 2017, and the relationship is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’re looking for quality, speed, and a low price. They had the lowest price by far of the firms I was looking at, and their quality is far better than what we had before. They’re easy to work with. We give them work, they jump on it and do it in a timely manner. They also do internal tracking and they share that with us to see how everyone is doing.

How did Trupp Global perform from a project management standpoint?

They let us decide how we want everything to work. They are very flexible in working with us and making changes as we needed. We communicate with them via Slack. We answer questions continuously throughout the day to keep things on track. They’re also very responsive and answer any questions we have.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The quality of work has been very good. I feel their quality is superior to other US-based resources we’ve used. Their flexibility in meeting our needs has been much better than expected and miles beyond what we’ve experienced with other vendors.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There were only a few minor issues, which we worked out in the beginning. There was a learning curve to get them on track, but it was quicker than I expected.

Be detailed about what you want them to provide for you. Trupp Global is good at reviewing the scope and determining how their abilities fit your needs and giving you options.
