We've created a community app for parents and their kids. It offers a wide range of content in a magazine format and provides functionalities to arrange playdates for your kids or to exchange knowledge with other parents. My position is CTO.

For what projects/services did your company hire Zignuts Technolab?

When we contacted Zignuts, we had a working app published in the app stores (iOS & Android), but we faced a lot of issues that we could not solve with our european based developers. We had to re-design the whole app and its backend and we were searching for company capable of that task at reasonable cost.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to achieve a better usability and a wider range of functionality for our app.

How did you select this vendor?

We selected 16 companies by recommendation and clutch reviews. We then decided based on time and quality of response, reference projects, range of offer and tools and price.

Based on the existing native apps for iOS and Android, Zignuts had to analyze the existing infrastructure and functionality of the app and start improving and adding features right away. They could contact me, if they needed information and received some basic documentation but the major parts they had to work out themselves.

What was the team composition?

I am in touch with their PM and he leads the team of 2,5 to 3 developers. For more demanding projects like the re-design and the new backend, Zignuts' CTO is always available and competent

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Different languages and different cultures always cause misunderstandings. But with Zignuts the overall performance does meet our expectations.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The CEO is based in Germany. The team collaborates very well. Whenever there are challenges the CTO is there to trubleshoot.

We found them on Google, and they had a high star ranking. They gave a lot of promises and had conversations, but the job is not done at all

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

We spent €300 (approximately $330 USD) but didn't receive any work, a refund, or even feedback. It was an extreme failure.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Not effective from their company. They said the job was ready, but it wasn't true. Zignuts told us, "First, take away your feedback, then we promise to do the job."

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Nothing.

What advice do you have for clients with similar needs to yours?

Don't deal with them at all. Don't waste your dreams, money, or nerves.

Hello, sir. 

We've already checked your details with our team and found that you changed the initially agreed task scope in the middle of the task. The original scope was to prepare a new UX design for your website and to integrate a payment gateway to your existing, working website. For that, you paid 150 EUR as the kick-off confirmation and decided on an hourly basis. 

But when we completed the new design, our team realized that you didn't even have a working website. You provided the wrong information to us, saying, "We only have to integrate payment and all other features working fine." But if there's no e-commerce website, then where would we integrate the payment gateway? That's technically impossible if the e-commerce site doesn't have backend features (Checkout, Orders, etc.) nor a database. 

Our team tried explaining that multiple times to you, but now you're asking and forcing us to implement the whole e-commerce website solution with all of the features at the initially agreed cost. That's ethically wrong and unacceptable. Also, our team had already informed you in the beginning that we have no refund policy for the project kick-off price because we've already spent more than enough hours in the requirement analysis, setup, and UX design work. 

However, we're still committed to delivering the tasks agreed initially. First, we will need to have a working e-commerce site with all required technical functionalities before we can proceed with payment integration.

They had a project manager handling all the communication for their team and a tech guy fronting all the technical questions. Behind the scene were several people working on developing and writing code.

This is our first startup project and we are really happy with the work Zignuts Technology has done for us. We hope to continue our good relationship in the future.

Project management was professional. We communicated through Slack and the overall experience working with them was really good.

Zignuts Technolab worked on automating smart contracts for Token and Crowdsale and handled blockchain API development. They also created user registration features, user KYC verification, an admin panel, and a setup interface. Furthermore, they created profiles and email notifications, took care of cloud server setup and code deployment, and handled MetaMask integration.

What was the team composition?

Their project manager assigned four people to our project, including a blockchain expert, a software developer, a webmaster, and an API developer.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

They were able to deliver everything on time, and all smart contract functions are done automatically. The app works really well and we’re pleased.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Their project manager is an expert at his job. We were fascinated by his knowledge of smart contracts and initial coin offerings, and really appreciated his kindness and patience in talking to us. He understood our needs and designed the solutions immediately.

Our business wanted to explore the B2C field, so we decided to launch a woman-friendly matching app. As we do not possess in-house app development capability, we needed to hire an external developer.

We wanted to develop a matching app aimed at international markets.

How did you select this vendor?

First, we selected 10-20 candidate companies through internet research, anticipated cost, and apparent capability. Then, we carried out Skype meetings with them and asked more detailed questions. Finally, we visited seven shortlisted vendors in Singapore and India and then selected Zignuts. Their flexibility, cost proposals, experience with foreign clients, and design sense fit our project.

We provided the concept and designs with drawings and words. Zignuts developed the app for iOS and Android with four milestones and regular feedback meetings.

The iOS and Android app will be live shortly, which is mostly aligned with the original schedule.

Zignuts’ project management was pretty organized. Feedback reached front-line developers effectively and quickly, and they were quick to pick up when issues arose.

They’re transparent and responsive. They’re also quite stable, but not bureaucratic, so they fit with startups like us.
