What were your goals for this project?

I had had a bad experience with Wix in the past and wanted a Wordpress site that looked professional and that matched my brand.

A friend of mine recommended them to me after she'd worked with them.

They helped me to build a website, get set up with hosting, install plugins, and set up the whole back-end and front-end of the site.

My main contact at FWG was Sven and another of their developers Casey.

I got a beautiful website that I love with and that I feel excited about using as my professional platform to send potential clients to.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Sven and Casey did an awesome job guiding me through the process. They were quite responsive and helped me to answer all of my questions. Highly recommended.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They did an amazing job, were wonderful to interact with, and they don't charge to build the website!

They charge for higher-level projects (if you want to do something advanced), and you can buy additional add-ons with them (like SEO help), but their free-website service is not something they charge for and you don't have to buy any of their other services if you're not interested. Very unique model and I would absolutely recommend them!

Are there any areas for improvement?

I was very happy with the process.

We needed some help to create our main and functional website in order to make it easier for our clients to book their pick-up and get acquainted with our services.

3. Approach more people as the website is in 3 languages and in Estonia this is important

How did you select this vendor?

We were looking for a cost-effective solution to start with and to work with people that have the skills, the expertise, the knowledge, passion for their work, be responsible and give us good results! From their recommendations and the communication I had initially with The Free Website Guys, I felt that they meet my expectations.

Our communication was made mainly through e-mails and from their side, were very informative and organised as every step was planned and they were several steps that needed to be done also from my side. They had organised everything with tutorial videos and forms to fill, so no information would be lost!

Also, every time they were completing one task, I was getting an overall report. That sort of communication was very helpful, as we didn’t spend long hours in calls but we had a workflow that was progressing!

I was assigned a project manager to support and build up the website and we were in daily contact :)

At the moment they are not available.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow was very effective as the communication from both sides was constant and I could have frequent updates for the work done. Sometimes, there were delays from both sides, but this didn’t interrupt our project, as we didn’t have a certain deadline, and mainly all the delays were happening to find out better solutions for the issues we were facing, and I highly appreciate that.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their business model! In the beginning, I thought that probably this business model is not effective and after the completion of the free projects, people will not come back to them. Surprisingly, I caught also myself wanted to continue working with them due to their expertise, kindness, focus on the client and passion for work!

Are there any areas for improvement?

I can't think about something that could be done better.

Sven and his team built me a 6-page website to help me showcase my portfolio and writing services.

Sven and his team of web designers took care of everything. All I had to do was pick a DIvi theme and create a Bluehost account, WordPress account and logo.

Once I customize the rest of the website, I'll be able to attract new leads and show potential clients my portfolio in a professional way.

The workflow was flawless and the communication was exceptional. Sven and his team work very fast and always respond to questions and concerns within 24 hours.

How amazing the communication and service was. Sven and his team implemented all of my feedback and customization requests, no questions asked. The process was super quick — they had my website up in no time!

Started working with these guys months ago. It says free website guys, but they sell you on many different things and won't start work until you buy several after you buy everything that they suggest they become very hard to contact and make you do your own work every step of the way I've had them for months and have not seen one page of website development yet I would steer clear of working with these guys pay for a real website development

The Free Website Guys was supposed to design our website, and we would upload the content. The team offered to build our new website at no charge, but the catch was that we had to use their partner Bluehost to host the new site, to which we agreed.

We don't know how many teammates from The Free Website Guys were assigned to our project.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with The Free Website Guys at the end of June 2025, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We haven't seen any evidence that The Free Website Guys is building our website. We were hoping to see tangible proof in the form of the professional template we purchased per their recommendation uploaded to our WordPress site, ready for us to begin uploading content.

How did The Free Website Guys perform from a project management standpoint?

The Free Website Guys has been vague and slow to reply to our emails after reading them. We don't hear from our contact person until a week has passed. The team hasn't followed through or addressed our concerns in a timely manner or at all.

Communication has been a major issue. Our email feature shows that our messages to our contact have been opened, yet they often go without a response for over a week, even when marked urgent. The responses we do receive are frequently vague and fail to address all of our questions. This lack of transparency and the constant runaround is unacceptable.

What did you find most impressive or unique about them?

So far, we're not impressed with The Free Website Guys. They're uniquely consistent with not following through with their promises.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The Free Website Guys could actually follow through with what they promise and be more proactive when it comes to responding to emails. The team could also respond to customers' direct concerns without being so vague in their responses or replies.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

We strongly advise others to be aware of this before engaging with The Free Website Guys. So far, our experience has been one of unfulfilled promises and a serious lack of communication and transparency.
