I'm a product manager for a personal finance website, connecting consumers with the most appropriate providers of insurance, loans, and deposit accounts.

For what projects/services did your company hire Blue Hills IT?

Data entry - we had to update a group of pages on our site with fresh data concerning the cost of insurance coverage. This involved manual collection of quote information from major insurers through their online forms.

What were your goals for this project?

Our goals were to quickly and accurately collect the necessary information, which would then be analyzed and published as original content on our site.

How did you select this vendor?

We have worked with them in the past and found them to be very reliable.

Describe the project in detail.

We wanted to collect hundreds of insurance quotes using addresses in each state and a single user profile. This information would be analyzed and written about on our site as a means of helping consumers make better purchase decisions. Blue Hills was tasked with collecting the quotes by running through each insurer's online quote form, a process which typically takes five to ten minutes. We provided a spreadsheet of addresses (rows) and insurers (columns), which the Blue Hills team filled in cell by cell as they completed each quote.

What was the team composition?

This was a small project. I was the sole coordinator for my company, while Blue Hills leaned on its full team to complete the quote collection in a timely manner.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Results will appear in the long term, but we've seen that keeping content fresh is important to maintaining position on search results.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Communication was brief but effective. We did find some omissions and errors in the data, which was to be expected given the high volume of entries. Once raised, these issues were fixed quickly by Blue Hills.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their rapid pace of work and professionalism made me look forward to working with them.

Are there any areas for improvement?

My only comment here would be that I had asked to receive the data in Google Sheets, where I laid out empty spreadsheets ready to be filled in. Instead the product came in Excel format - not a problem at all, but this did take me some time to transfer the files so that my team could access them from Drive. We prefer this over having static copies so that we can share work directly in each document.
