Konstant Infosolutions rebuilt a retailer's website to match its high-end image. They provided design, back-end development, and bug fixes.
The new website showed a significant improvement in speed, functionality, and pleasant user experience. Konstant Infosolutions built a trusting relationship with their proactive problem-solving, diverse talent pool, and precise communication.

BACKGROUND
Could you give a brief description of your company?
We are a women’s fashion house. We sell accessories, jewelry, shoes, and wedding dresses. We have four full-time employees and one part time. We turn over, approximately, €200,000 [around $270,000] a year at the moment. We’re based in Dublin, Ireland.
What is your role and responsibilities?
I’m the owner and founder, so I’m the managing director of the company.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What was the business challenge you were trying to address when you contacted Konstant Infosolutions?
We wanted to revamp our website completely with a lot of design change and functionality change.
What were your company’s business goals for the project?
We have high-end experience in our store, and we wanted to recreate the same thing online. The website was very poorly representing us. After the company had finished, it looked how we wanted it to look.
SOLUTION
In terms of the scope of the project, how long did it take?
I’ve used them twice. The first time, it took approximately three weeks for a full overhaul of the site. The second time was probably 10 days. It was a smaller job.
Did this just include Web design or was there additional development on the website?
There was also development. There had been some existing bug issues with the site, so they fixed those. I had the functionality change as well as the design.
Why did you choose Konstant Infosolutions for your project?
I saw them on a freelance website. For the previous two years before that, we had been using various freelancers around the world. However, they’d all be very disappointing or very expensive when it came to websites. These guys are reasonably priced, and they are very professional and very honest. The project evolved without any issues. I’m happy with them, and I won’t use anybody else now.
Could you give us a brief estimate of the size in dollar or euro terms for the project?
The first one was probably only about €1400 [around $1,900] and the second project might have been €600 [around $800].
When were the projects completed?
The first one would have been approximately July 14, 2013. This latest one was completed approximately around January 14, 2014.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
In terms of the results from the project completion, can you give us specific improvements that happen on your website, such as how it’s better overall because of the project?
Specifically, it certainly began to work faster. It was a lot faster, so they must have sorted out coding with my server because it was working slowly before that. There were some bugs and little issues as well with dead ends and 404 pages, and they fixed all those, too. So, the functionality inside became more smooth. There were other issues with image uploads I was having, they fixed that, too. A lot of little things that pop up as well through time, so they would look, and they would just fix it. Overall, the functionality, they just made it much smoother.
How do the rest of the employees in the company feel about the website?
They all love it. We get a lot of comments from other professionals in the business who enjoy our website.
From your customers, do you feel like they’ve given positive feedback as well with the new improvements in the website?
They have. We’ve definitely gotten positive feedback from the customers. They recognize the improvements.
Overall, you feel you selected the right platform and the right direction to go with Konstant Infosolutions?
Yes, I do. When the time comes for me to redo the site, keep it fresh and moving again, we’ll be using Konstant again. One of the things that I really liked about them was that there was nothing that they couldn’t do. With other developers, they were finding problems with everything I was asking them to do. Konstant didn't do that. They find solutions for what you’re looking for. They would make anything happen.
Is there anything special or unique with Konstant Infosolutions compared with other companies you’ve worked with in the past that differentiates them, or puts them a little higher than other companies?
In all fairness, their range. I worked with companies in the past that said they could do this and that, but they couldn’t do certain things. That was very frustrating for us. These guys seem to have a very big team, and each of them specialize in various areas. So, between them all, they have no difficulty executing what I ask them to do.
Looking back on the projects, is there anything that they could have improved on or done differently?
Honestly, none. Their communication was excellent. They were very good to work with.

Konstant Infosolutions developed an event company's app for Android and iOS, and are currently planning a third development.
Though the app was not as successful as the company hoped, they still approved of Konstant Infosolution's contributions and looked forward to working with them in the future. Although communication could have been streamlined, the team impressed with their high-quality, affordable deliveries.

BACKGROUND
Please describe your firm.
Dolphin Creative is an event company specializing in public festivals across the Middle East.
What is your role and responsibilities?
I’m the owner.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What was your goal for the work with Konstant Infosolutions?
Our goal was to create an event application for the public to download free of charge so they could get information on the festivals we were doing.
SOLUTION
Can you describe the scope of their work in more detail?
The work was mostly around the functionality for the mobile apps. We gave the ideas, and we knew how the app should look. They were the development team, so we put some of the ideas on the spec pages and Konstant put the ideas into action.
What was your process for selecting Konstant Infosolutions?
Initially, we found them on Elance for a previous app we did. We found that to be a good source for offshore firms. Because we’re in the Middle East, India is only a three-hour time difference, so it is only a small hindrance regarding project management.
Is the work ongoing?
They finished two app development projects already. They did another personal app for us in the past, and then we did a second app to showcase new content and events. They were the first company we called since the first app was successful.
Do you have plans to do more work with Konstant Infosolutions again in the future?
Yes, I think so. If we can get the communication right and the quality right of the apps to improve, we should work together again.
Can you provide a sense of the size of the average project with Konstant Infosolutions with a general cost range?
I think the cost hours would have been less if they understood the app from the very beginning. The cost of the actual app itself was between $3,000 and $5,000. The amount of work they did was larger than it needed to be, but that’s OK because it ended well.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What were the results of the projects?
We were satisfied. It will be unfair to claim Konstant could do more. They delivered what we asked for. The app didn’t work as well at first. The response from the public wasn’t good, but that was no fault of the app developers. That is more of a design and functionality issue from our side.
Do you have any statistics or metrics you could share about the success of the app?
I haven’t gotten any yet, but it wasn’t great. We probably had under 100 downloads total. We had 500,000 people attend the festival. Obviously, I would hope to get maybe 0.5 percent. I was hoping for maybe 1,000 or 2,000 downloads.
Which platform did you develop on for the apps?
We developed on iOS and Android.
Were the projects wrapped up successfully?
The project turned out fine. If I were to have a constructive criticism, it has to do with making communication too complicated. I had to go through four or five different managers each project, one person to negotiate the fee, another person to negotiate the terms, and then the development team. I think communication channels could be streamlined. We needed one point of contact to be the actual manager for the entire project duration. This improved by the end of the projects. We had a very good resource in the end, but it would have been nice to be working with him from the actual start.
Is anything unique or special about Konstant Infosolutions as a company that stands out as different from other firms?
Their prices are very good.
Looking back on the project, is there anything you think they could improve upon or something you might do differently?
It is tricky. Because they’re on the lower end of the PayScale, it is like any other product. You get what you actually pay for. I could probably have gotten a better company, but they would charge me much more. I think I have to be realistic. For the price that they can deliver an app, the fussing and the pain is worth it.

BACKGROUND
Please describe your company.
We are a sports matchmaking company that matches people like dating sites, but not for relationships, for sports partnerships. We help users find someone to dance with or play tennis with. It's a sports buddy matchmaker.
What is your role and responsibilities?
I am the owner.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What was your goal for working with Konstant Infosolutions?
Konstant is my website, mobile, and app supplier. They are my outsourced development team.
SOLUTION
Please describe the scope of their work.
We outsourced our development, but Konstant is also my technical consultants because I am not a technical expert and neither is my marketing person. Konstant also is our development team. We create our new products and features, and they consult us about whether it is possible and what we have to change. Then, they start developing it.
Konstant created a responsive mobile website, and they are working on an Android app. Next, they will create the iOS app.
What was your process for selecting Konstant Infosolutions with which to work?
We started working with them in 2008, and I found them through Elance.
Can you provide a ballpark dollar figure for the size of the work that they’ve done for you?
They work for us continuously, and we give them a number of small projects that they work on each month. They work an average of 300 hours per month on our projects. The work is ongoing, so it is more like a partnership.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Do you have any statistics or metrics to track improvement from the project?
We don’t have any stats. We are extremely satisfied with the results. We have been with them for six years and have never had a reason to find another supplier. In development projects, things go wrong, which is normal. Their attitude toward the project is always excellent. If I ever have a tight deadline, they do everything to meet the deadline on time with quality. The partnership is working very well. They test, and we test as well. It's a very agile kind of style that is working perfectly.
Is there anything unique about them that really makes them stand out, compared to other companies?
I’ve never worked with another vendor, except here in the Netherlands, where they're eight times more expensive. They’re very professional, and they have the tools to monitor the work in progress. They use tools for billing, and they have a very professional approach. They don't work like a one-person freelancer. It's a real company and have quality assurance and project management.
Looking back on the work so far, is there any area that you think they could improve upon or that you might do differently?
We don’t know yet. It's too early to tell regarding apps. The Web development and responsive website has gone very well. My partner and I continue to test everything, and our partnership with Konstant works very well.

Konstant Infosolutions created a multi-platform mobile app that replaces physical customer loyalty cards.
The client was impressed by Konstant's professionalism, business ethics, and reliable communication. The project was completed on time and within budget.
The client submitted this review online.
BACKGROUND
Arial Networks is a technology company specializing in the provision of mobile application and backend systems.
I am the owner and systems design architect. I am responsible for providing the requirement specifications and managing the development and release of the solutions.
We mainly provide customer loyalty solutions and have systems in the hospitality and well as supermarket retail industries.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
We have seen that most loyalty solutions are based on physical cards. Providing a similar solution using electronic and mobile app technology makes it much more convenient for customers. Customers, however, need to make a mind shift to understand that this technology is better for them to use as some 60 percent still prefer the old physical card.
Also, offering this to a retail network is difficult as they may not have the required equipment to utilize such new technology.
This is a new and growing market, and we expect both retailers and customers to adapt to these changes soon.
SOLUTION
This solution was developed on the Android, iOS, and Blackberry platforms. We wanted to ensure that we cover 90 percent of the mobile market. However, we do not include new updates on Blackberry and will only be offering our solutions on Android and iOS.
We tried several other service providers before we were lucky find Konstant Infosolutions. We have used several websites to source service providers and, unfortunately, had to award contracts to companies to try them out. Even following feedback from users does not always guarantee that the service provider will be any good.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
After working with Konstant Infosolutions for the first time, I was pleasantly surprised by their professionalism and good business ethics. Their communication is always very good, and you can get in touch with any person in the company if required. All the staff that I have been in contact with has good communication skills. It was not difficult to understand them, and they understand me well.
They kept to their commitments, and my solution was delivered on time. There have been a few delays on my end, and Konstant was waiting for me. My solution was delivered on budget and on time.
I can definitely recommend them to any company anywhere in the world that wants to outsource their IT and technology development. Use the correct service provider from the start, and that will save you lots of time and headaches.

Konstant Infosolutions redeveloped an online ticket sales website on an entire;y new platform. They now serve as a long-term partner for website development and quality assurance.
Konstant Infosultions' performance was consistently excellent, with reliable support and quick response to any bugs or mistakes. Although their quality assurance could be improved upon, the team proved themselves a dependable development partner.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Please describe your company.
We do online ticket sales and work like eBay. Customers who are organizing events or having parties can log on to the site to sell to their customers, allowing an easy transaction online for facilitating the ticket sales. It’s not an auction function, but the customers post what they want to sell themselves. We sell it and issue payment after the event.
What is your role and responsibilities?
I’m the manager.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What was your goal for working with Konstant Infosolutions?
The most important aspect was to have a partner that we could grow with and rely on for execution. We wanted an external source that was knowledgeable. We were doing it all internally, and it was too much. Our rate of pay wasn’t competitive enough, so outsourcing gave us the best of both worlds. It made it possible for our small company to manage a major website. It’s an ongoing partnership as opposed to a one-off project vendor relationship.
SOLUTION
Please describe the scope of their work.
When we first approached them, we had the website for ticketing already running. We needed to redevelop the entire project from scratch. I briefed them on what specs were required. They took my information, and turned it into a complete manual of all the specs, with everything subdivided and listing all the needed tasks. I approved it, and they started the project.
They redeveloped the whole thing from scratch on a different platform. We discussed which platform would be best for my project. We ended up going with KPHP, and they’ve been on the project ever since. We go through a list of tasks and features that we want added. They spec it out, quote it, and start on the project. I primarily oversee feedback. There is a lot of Q&A involved since we have to test and resolve issues. I think they have a department for that as well.
What was your process for selecting Konstant Infosolutions?
When we decided to outsource, we looked at online referrals and watched videos on YouTube from people who were encouraging outsourcing. We decided to outsource at that point. Our first mission was a bit disastrous. We went with a company, sent them about $500, tried it, and it didn’t work out at all. We didn’t do a good job of reviewing the information and qualifying them. Instead of giving up and going back to what we had here, and having the same struggles, we realized we were hiring developers who weren’t qualified based on our budget.
Next, we found DataFreelancer.com through oDesk. Before that, it was GetAFreelancer.com, which was more known to us. We posted data and had a number of developers reviewed the information and post it. We were able to see the positive feedback, reviews, and other projects they did. We looked at two companies, one out of Atlanta, and one in India. We asked them for samples and examples, and they issued a couple of other sites that they worked on. We made a small investment of one-third of the project and escrowed it to get a freelancer. We got burned by the last guy, so we paid a third after a third of the functions and the spec sheets were approved. The second third was released with the second set of specs, and the last third of the payment was sent when the project was completed. Now, we just send them money for the hours they work and report it. We don’t need to escrow it any more.
Can you provide a ballpark dollar figure for the size of the work that they’ve done for you?
We have two sections, and they quote out the bigger project, it varies from $2,000 to $10,000. If you’re re-developing a vital site from scratch, you’re looking at the higher end. Now, we try to do intervals, where we decide how much each feature will cost. If it’s a bigger feature, they quote it and work on it. We also do hourly projects, such as bug fixes. That’s anything from half an hour to about 15 hours.
When was the latest milestone completed for that work?
Our ongoing relationship with Konstant depends on how well we do with the ticketing site as well as the technology end. The ticketing market is very competitive. That’s the hard part, but it has nothing to do with them. We got the ticketing site out in 2000, when it was an easy market for us. Now, it’s more competitive. As far as development, they’re a great partner. I think the work will continue for years if the business stays strong.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
How did Konstant Infosolutions perform?
I am very satisfied with the work they delivered. If I wasn't satisfied, I wouldn't continue to work with them for so long.
When working with KonstantInfosolutions, what is unique or special about them compared to other firms?
They always provide all of the support that I need. When there are bugs and mistakes, they fix it quickly and correctly. I am really happy with their performance so far. However, I cannot say much else because I don't have a lot of experience with other IT firms.
Looking back on the project, is there anything that you think Konstant Infosolutions could improve upon, or something you would do differently?
The only thing that I can think of is improving their quality assurance work. They have a quality assurance group, but I think they still need to mature and improve. I am happy that they can assist in this area, but it should be developed more.

BACKGROUND
Please describe your company.
My company is involved in creating applications for iPhone and iPad.
What is your role and responsibilities?
I’m the director.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What was your goal for working with Konstant Infosolutions?
My goal is to make good games for all age groups and commercial apps. We want something that is popular and easy to use.
SOLUTION
Please describe the scope of their work?
They did all of the work, the design and the coding. I’ve been associated with them for the last 10 years. They made a website for me during the last two years, and now all the coding and gaming work is done by them. It’s just for iPhone and iPad. We don’t have any plans to make the games for Android right now. We may do that in the future.
What was your process for selecting Konstant Infosolutions?
My first project with them was in 2002 for an interactive website with a shopping cart. Since then, they’ve done 20 to 25 projects for me. Then, I switched to apps and gave all my work to them. Their work is very good, so I don’t need to go anywhere else. They have designers, a core group of technical people, and other helpful resources.
Can you provide a ballpark dollar figure for the size of the work that they’ve done for you?
It varies from project to project. My minimum project was $400, and the biggest project was around $9,000.
When was the latest milestone completed for that work?
The last project was an app related to dreams, it is an online community where people can share their dreams with other users. That was completed in summer of 2013.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Do you have any statistics or metrics to track improvement from the project?
They have completed all our projects on our timeline. In the last 10 years, I haven’t had any problems. I don’t need to work with another company.
Is there anything unique about them that really makes them stand out, compared to other companies?
I can’t say because I’ve only worked with Konstant.

transcript.
BACKGROUND
Please describe your company.
We're a startup looking to go to mobile applications through Apple. We're using a social media-style application that has a unique twist to it. Essentially, there are three of us who are involved. I am driving the business and all the commercial aspects. We have a digital designer and a marketing person who is involved. We don’t have any in-house development capability, so we outsourced that and other peripheral work to Konstant.
What is your role and responsibilities?
I am the founder.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What was your goal for working with Konstant Infosolutions?
We started with a brief and an outcome that we wanted to achieve. A good friend and former colleague who is based in London is a full-time digital designer. I presented the idea to him, and gave him free reign on the design aspects. We wanted something that focused purely on the user experience that was all about providing the most efficient, attractive, appealing user interface that was very intuitive. At the same time, the app wouldn’t compromise on certain aspects by incorporating ads and other premiums.
SOLUTION
Please describe the scope of their work?
Konstant was not in charge of design since that was one of the capabilities that we brought to the table. We documented and defined that to a very low level. The data, user experience, documents, and full designs were all provided. We looked for the development and coding capability from Konstant, but no design aspects.
What was your process for selecting Konstant Infosolutions to work with?
We found them through Elance. I shortlisted four potential candidates out of hundreds of suppliers that stood out and appealed to us. We wrote a brief for the two-week proposal period. We received four proposals from the short-listed vendors and eliminated two right away. We were down to the final two and had more detailed discussions with them. We selected Konstant in the end.
Can you provide a ballpark dollar figure for the size of the work that they’ve done for you?
About $5,000 to $10,000.
When was the latest milestone completed for that work?
We just uploaded to the App Store in mid-December 2013, so it's not fully completed. We're in the final stages. There’s a warranty period, so we're looking for any live issues that may come up. We just signed off on the testing of the application.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Do you have any statistics or metrics to track improvement from the project?
It hasn't gone live yet, so we're waiting for Apple to approve it before Christmas. We don’t have any metrics in that regard. We had some friends in the testing process, and showed a lot of people the application. We've had a lot of positive feedback around the idea and its delivery, including the interface, styling, and so on. We haven't received any live user feedback or metrics. We're doing a soft launch with a survey period. We expect some feedback in two to three weeks.
Their performance during the work was impressive. This is the first project where we engaged an offshore supplier. I was nervous going into it. I’ve worked with offshore suppliers from India in the past, and they’ve been very literal with everything. One of the things we identified was to take any ambiguity out of the requirements and designs. They just needed to pick up the specs and begin building it. They did a great job with that.
I was initially concerned about the communication and not knowing what was going on. The most pleasing part was their communication from Konstant. We allocated product designers, project coordinators and QA leads. They were not hidden in the background; they were available by Skype and email. We had regular, typically daily, communication with them during each stage of the process. I felt completely in touch and in control as far as what was happening. That was a real positive for me.
One thing that I was a little worried about going into this was how rigid they might be with little changes along the way. You never know how it's going to look until it takes shape, and we had a few little tweaks along the way. They were very flexible with those things, within reason. There were some items we had to get more quotes for, but they took care of most of the tweaks on the fly, which was fantastic. All in all, I was very happy with the development, QA, and the coordination and engagement from them throughout the entire process. That was very positive.
Is there anything unique about them that really makes them stand out, compared to other companies?
One of the things that was a nice touch, and that I didn’t expect, was that the founding CEO of the company called us late in the process. He was in Sydney at the time. He called me to let me know he was fully aware of our project. He said that if we ever had any questions, we could contact him. That personal touch was above and beyond what we expected. We had some voice calls from the team throughout the project, but getting that call from him showed that he knew what was going on. It gave us the impression they cared about the project and that we were on their radar. That was a good touch.
Quality is very important to us, and we had to be very pedantic with the application. We told them we wouldn’t accept bugs and other faults in the application. To their credit, they focused on that. They didn’t push us to release the app early, when it was 80 percent or 90 percent there. They were happy to keep testing and fixing to get it 100 percent right the whole time. I didn’t feel any pressure with respect to that.
Looking back on the work so far, is there any area that you think they could improve upon or something that you might do differently?
We were pleased with how they dealt with our minor changes along the way. On the other hand, they didn’t push back enough with those changes. Sometimes, their interpretation of what we discussed was not exactly what we were after. We had to refine it later, which required a little rework. Ultimately, that wasn’t their fault because we had some tough last minute requirements, and their interpretation wasn’t exactly what we were looking for. To their credit, we could have defined that in a better format by putting a spec together, which we didn’t do. They didn’t push back and say no on any rework as a result of that, they didn’t charge for the extra work either. They tried to accommodate us.
