It's a kind of event management app that is very useful for clients to manage their invitations at their fingertips for their particular events. We started with a discussion on call, and to finalize the scope of work, we visited Hyperlink InfoSystem's Ahmedabad-based office. After the scope of work, their team started working on UI/UX designs from wireframe to prototype.

Once we approved the designs, they started working on development using the latest relevant technologies for our app. They send us app builds weekly to get our feedback regularly; this helps us understand and improve how the final product works. They have an excellent team of QA who reviewed our app and made sure to deliver a bug-free solution.

We were in discussion with the Business Development Manager and 2 Business Analysts at the start of the discussion. We were clear with our scope of work before signing the contract. So, we choose the fixed price model.

During the development process, our main contact point was Mr. Uresh - the project manager, to guide us throughout the development journey. As per my knowledge, more than 15 resources were assigned to our project, including native developers, UI/UX designers, web designers, and QA.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Initially, we had a four-month timeline to develop and deliver the project. Due to the COVID-19 worldwide pandemic, we have to hold the app idea for some time, which affects the timeline given by the company. In the end, all went well, and we got the final product in hour hand, which we had dreamed about before.

We are very satisfied with the delivered product and excited to share it with our audience soon with proper marketing and awareness about our app.

Project management for this type of idea is beyond our expectations. Had an amazing experience with Mr. Uresh. He understands our point of confusion and guides us on the best way to know the progress each time on-call or by email. They used Skype and Zoom meetings for quick calls and chats, Zoho for project planning and execution, and emails to get in touch regularly.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

As a project manager for an event management company, I have worked with many clients and businesses in the past. As per my experience with Hyperlink InfoSystem, I can say that they went beyond to ensure our satisfaction. We faced an issue with the timelines. There was some delay in the delivery of the final product. As I mentioned earlier, we have to stop working on this idea for a few months because the pandemic hit our industry hard. And to start again with the development process takes some time. Hyperlink InfoSystem’s designs are brilliant — we’ve only had to make minor adjustments. The backend administrative panel Hyperlink InfoSystem’s team developed is easy to manage.

Hyperlink InfoSystem generally delivers on time despite project changes. They have clear and direct communication. Their team is open to understanding new logic mapping and systems. We use Zoom to communicate and Trello and Excel to manage the project and budget.

The applications were created both for IOS and android.

We have had more the 40 downloads of the mobile application in 3 months, as well as 10 downloads of the employee application l. The users that have downloaded have given great feedback about using the application.

The project manager was easy to communicate with and have very good response when services were asked.

The mobile app complexity and time management was outstanding. All our needs were met in an impressive time and consistency. The simplicity of the format makes it very easy for the users to understand the flow.

Status reports over progress throughout the development would’ve been better over scheduled Skype or Zoom calls.

I’m the co-founder and CEO of a tech startup. We’re building a social network that focuses on connecting New York on a deeper level. It helps people find their communities across the city and share experiences with their friends.

What challenge were you trying to address with Hyperlink InfoSystem?

We were trying to find people to develop our platform because we weren't technically savvy. We just knew how to work on some design aspects, but we didn’t know anything about backend programming.

Therefore, we needed a team that could get the job done at an affordable price. We didn’t want to hire multiple freelancers; it implied less efficiency, higher costs, and more time constraints. We also didn’t want to hire a development team in the US because it would’ve been very expensive. Hiring overseas was the best option for our budget.

What was the scope of their involvement?

In the beginning, we had a clear idea of how we wanted the platform to look and operate. We did a lot of the UX/UI and gave Hyperlink InfoSystem our prototypes and documents detailing all the features we wanted. Then, they completed everything they could. If there were any technicalities that needed alternative solutions, they assisted us in finding the best option and best ways to implement it. Overall, they took whatever we showed them and created it with their development team.

If we’d traditionally built the product, we would’ve started with the basics, put it out there, got feedback, and implemented it and the data we received. However, we didn’t build it, so we had to go through an alternative route, working with Hyperlink InfoSystem on features and things we wanted to improve or take away. Since we still want to ensure the product is the best for our users, we’ll have to go through the process of building and getting feedback.

Our platform is currently just iOS-based. They have backend engineers assigned to the databases. Also, frontend engineers are doing a lot of designing and Swift and Xcode programming to ensure that our UX/UI is appropriately done.

Much of our development time took place when the COVID-19 pandemic was starting to take off, so they were working from home. Therefore, we never got a good read on how many people were on our project; we probably interacted with 6–7 of their people. In general, we worked closely with their project manager and one of their iOS developers.

Hyperlink InfoSytem had the best reviews. We used Clutch to get some feedback and spoke with them directly to get a few of our questions answered. After all our research, they were the right option for our project at an affordable price.

We started conversations in 2019 but started working together by September 2020. We plan to continue working with them until we find our fit in the market.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Our users are really impressed. We’re a new company, but our app seems mature. It makes people think that we’ve had this platform running for years. Hyperlink InfoSytems has done an excellent job building a proper infrastructure for the platform. We get a lot of praise for how functional it is and how well it works, which was the biggest thing for us.

We don’t have any metrics at the moment because we’ve been showing the products in the market just to get feedback. However, people say they don’t see the same issues with other new platforms, such as constant bug crashes. Also, we have proper UX flow, and many users say that it's a neat app.

How did Hyperlink InfoSystem perform from a project management standpoint?

Due to the time difference, I try to be as prompt as possible and make myself available for any questions they may have. Once we explain things, they understand them pretty well and can deliver on what we want.

A lot of our communication is through calls and emails. We usually communicate over Skype.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The best part of working with them has been the app's quality. We’re not worried about problems that typically occur in app development projects. Hyperlink InfoSystem gives us a sense of security, and if problems arise, they find solutions.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The only thing I can suggest is that they become a little more diligent with testing. It might be a bit more related to my project because it’s probably one of the longest ongoing projects so far.

Through the development process, there are times when we'll get a build and have a problem occur from the previous build that we just had, so it'll take months to get from one bill to the next. Overall, I think it’s an issue more related to my platform. Other than that, I'm pretty sure they don’t take as long for other platforms. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

For any company building something for you, a lot of the ownership is on you. Do your due diligence to make sure that the platform or app is being built the way you want it. You have to put in the work to lay out the foundation for the platform.

Once you have a clear idea of what you want to bring to the market, that’s when you should communicate with Hyperlink InfoSystem and see what they can do for you. Treat the interaction with them transactionally so that everything is clear on both sides and things are done efficiently. Also, come with a clear idea and as much information as possible to maximize your time and decrease your costs.

Finally, be prompt with your communication with Hyperlink InfoSystem if you decide to work with them. If you don’t have an in-house team, I advise people to go with them because they deliver good quality.

They shouldn’t assume that everybody is technically knowledgeable about app development. When they spoke of APIs, I had no idea what that was. It would be good for them to gauge how tech-savvy their client is first and educate them if needed.

Also, the iOS version of the app can only be reviewed on my device, so if I need someone else to do it, I will also need to hand them my phone or iPad. They might need to see to that as well.

The hyperlink team were enthusiastic to take on the project and asked many questions to familiarise themselves, they also worked over the New Years break period in order to help us meet our deadlines. It was clear that they had deep expertise and they even managed to help us write documentation for our onboarding process as we didn't even know that we had extra errors with our app which was very useful

The hyperlink team was willing to work earlier hours than agreed upon to help match our timezone which was fantastic. We integrated them into our slack channel for easy and fast communication in which they were very responsive, their English was very good as well!

Hyperlink InfoSystem reviewed our needs and we established a contract of what we wanted to achieve. After that, we went through a design stage and then moved onto development. Hyperlink’s team was generous enough to let us go back and change some aspects of the design at no extra cost. They took everything we organized and included it in the app’s code, including all our 3rd-party integrations, like our payment tool.

The main feature of the application is a scanning functionality where users can scan a certain area. It was very hard to implement, but we had strong connections between our respective development teams. There are also e-commerce functionalities and product integrations.

The apps are for iOS and Android and built in Java.

Deep (Team Lead) was our project manager; he took me through a process. There was also an iOS resource, an Android resource, and a QA tester. There have been 4–5 people in total.

There were a couple of design flaws, but the development was very good. We didn’t define some of the design details well enough on our side to start.

How did Hyperlink InfoSystem perform from a project management standpoint?

They took charge of the project, which meant that I didn’t have to be too involved, freeing me up to focus on my responsibilities. Hyperlink’s team keeps me updated and sends items to me for approval; and if I don’t like them then they’ll do it again.

The project took six months where we though it would take 2–3, but the delays were caused by approvals and technology on our side. Hyperlink has been responsive and helpful throughout the project.

Every time I needed to talk to the development team or anyone specific, I received a fast response. I had a lot of questions about my business that weren’t directly related to the project, but to my business at large, and they would always jump on a Zoom call to answer them.

We started with an analysis of our requirements, the Business Analyst team helped us with the Scope of Work and all other documents. They discussed with our team to understand our requirements for the first stage. Then they prepared a plan to build the app and suggested technologies, and some changes in our requirements perform our operations more easily. After the first stage, their design team helped us with UI/UX and the prototype of our app. After multiple revisions, the development stage is finally started.

More than 16 people are working on our requirement to build Android & iOS native apps, Salesforce and a backend admin panel. Once development is done, their QA team tested our apps multiple times to get bug-free solutions. The project manager helped us throughout the process and provided quick solutions for our queries.

Our key contact point is project manager throughout the process. We coordinate with him and get updates on process regularly over Skype call weekly. They use Zoho project management tool to manage all process and discuss queries.

Project completed on the given deadline and with a given budget. We are very satisfied with the quality of the delivered solution. Support from Project Manager and Salesperson is very impressive for us all time.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

At the start of development, we had some issues with the process that took more time than expected. But management guided me and my team with the flow, and everything worked smoothly. I had experiences with software companies in past and usually software projects are delayed. What matters is the quality at the end.
