I wanted to creatively adapt current technology to bring more positivity to social media.

How did you select this vendor?

I knew Indian companies tend to produce top-notch apps at affordable prices, so I searched Google for “best mobile app development companies in India.” I shortlisted several of the companies that appeared on multiple lists, one of which was Hyperlink. After conducting more thorough research and sending out inquiries, Hyperlink ultimately ranked the highest. Their ISO certification was also a bonus.

Describe the project in detail.

All I had was an idea, so I needed a good company to help bring it to life.  Also, since the leading social networking apps are dominated by global giants, I wanted a sound app with excellent UI/UX to help attract potential users.

What was the team composition?

The team consisted of one project manager; two senior iOS developers; two senior Android developers; one senior web developer; one QA expert; one graphic designer; one sales manager; and one technical analyst.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The app has not yet launched, so I cannot speak to that at the moment.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow was very effective. We used primarily WhatsApp for general matters, which allowed for instant communication, and Zoho Projects to discuss development and technical issues.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their exceptional customer service facilitated seamless problem solving. In addition, the app’s quality thus far has convinced me that my money has been well spent. Hyperlink was definitely the best choice.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I would have preferred that they challenge my ideas or suggestions more. They have substantial development experience that I simply do not. Not everything I thought I wanted in the app would be best for the UX, so I would have appreciated hearing their constructive criticism.

Describe the project in detail.

Hyperlink InfoSystem built an iOS and Android app for job seekers. It included a web-based panel for recruiters and an admin panel for our internal use. The app connects recruiters and job seekers based on their criteria for candidates and job openings.

The platform uses complex metrics and algorithms to aid the matchmaking process. Hyperlink InfoSystem understood those metrics easily and implemented them within the app. After creating the UI/UX, they developed the app and the web panels.

What was the team composition?

We worked with an individual resource for each platform. In addition to an iOS developer, an Android developer, and a web developer, the team consisted of a UI/UX designer, a QA engineer, a project manager, an account manager, and a technical analyst. Shadow resources also assisted on all platforms, which was helpful.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We launched the app in mid-December 2018. At a demo event, the platform received an overwhelming response from visitors. In just under two months, over 100 companies have registered as paid users, and the app has two million total users. Hyperlink InfoSystem has stayed on to provide maintenance services. We’re looking into a second phase of development to add features soon.

The project ran effortlessly from beginning to end. During development, our team of QA users tested each milestone’s deliveries—consisting of application builds and web backend links—alongside the Hyperlink InfoSystem QA team. Every delivery met our standards of quality.

The product has been live since February. Hyperlink InfoSystem delivered a complete product based on the requirements we gave them. Taking customer feedback into account, we made a second version. They’ve continued to improve the UX, functionalities, and additional services in each new iteration. We’re happy with the work they’ve done.

Hyperlink InfoSystem always responds promptly. At times, we’ve faced urgent issues and bugs, and they’re always there to support us as soon as possible. 

The whole project was successful because of the project manager. He clearly understood our requirements and translated them to the developers on his side. We receive frequent updates on progress, issues, status, and what can be improved. He does a fantastic job of delivering the ideal service we need. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was impressed by the quality of Hyperlink InfoSystem’s work concerning the quote they gave us. They offered the most economical solution for our company. Other vendors could have made the same product quality, but they would have charged much more.

They could provide support every day of the week. If there’s an issue on Sunday, we have to wait until Monday to resolve it.

We needed a vendor and initially got quotes from many companies in Singapore and the U.S. They quoted millions of dollars for the project, so we began to search for Indian companies. We went online and my IT head helped us out.

When we initially talked with Hyperlink Infosystem, they were new to this technology and had just one project with Blockchain. However, many other companies lied and said they had done 50 or more projects like this one. Hyperlink's honesty made them our first choice.

Some of the app's features allow users to hold their own private keys and digital wallets. We used decentralized exchange (DEX), which isn't common in many apps. We also have multi-coin buy/sell and Bitcoin trading, as well as many other cryptocurrencies. I can't disclose more as it's still under development.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We did a lot of preliminary work before hiring them. One of our direct contacts helped us create a scope of work. We spent an excessive amount of time creating a wireframe. We’re pretty detail-oriented, so we documented it well. Once we sent that to them, they began to develop our native iOS and Android apps.

We had to ensure everything was secure, since dogs are like people’s children. Before they can interact with anyone—by liking another profile, writing a review, or starting a conversation—every user has an identity check. We do that through a third-party API that Hyperlink implemented, along with another API that does background checks on our borrowers. Another key feature is our web-based admin panel, which hosts CMS pages, prototypes, and live environments. It’s a cool, functional addition.

They help us with the whole design and marketing process, giving us prototypes and even using us as an example on their website.

What is the team composition?

We mostly communicate with a project manager, who relays all our feedback to the developers. For business matters, we’re in direct contact with the CEO, the founder, and someone who generates project quotes. We’ve occasionally worked with our Android lead.

We’re in the Google Play store and are launching on the App Store. We’re doing a soft launch now to eliminate bugs and get feedback from our friends and beta testers. Once we reiterate, we’ll do a hard launch. After we launched in the App Store, we started our 30-day support period with Hyperlink.

One of my dev friends was very impressed with the enterprise level software that we got for our first minimum viable product (MVP). It's a relief to have someone with a development background from the U.S. offer good feedback. We also get great feedback on the APIs we use for security.

How did Hyperlink InfoSystem perform from a project management standpoint?

Overall, it’s positive. We've had a bit of a learning curve since they’re in a different time zone, but they handle it well.

We aren't the easiest clients. We’re particular about small design features and workflows, but they are accommodating, transparent, and enlightening. We use email, phone, Skype, and Zoho.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their transparency and constant communication are impressive. They’ve taken our vision and analyzed, developed, and designed the entire thing. I was very impressed that our scope of work and wireframes became an actual app.

One of their biggest strengths is their mentorship. Their guidelines don’t promise suggestions or guidance, but they go above and beyond. They guide us and tell us if something won’t work. It’s so nice that they understand where we're coming from and help us along the way. They make suggestions based on their experiences and walk us through their previous designs.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could be a little harsher on us since this is our first time. They would have saved time by telling us that we didn't need to worry so much about the design. What we saw the mockups, we took them as final, so we spent a lot of time nitpicking when they could have been developing.

They could also hire someone who's proficient in writing English. A lot of our feedback concerns grammar. It’s simple, small stuff, but it adds up. The communication barrier was very large in the beginning, but we learned over time. Although this issue is easily overcome, having a fluent English speaker would facilitate constructive communication and create a more fluent transition.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Develop a scope of work and think through the process. Having an in-depth, fully-developed vision is important. If you’re fluid, the vision will differ from the finished product. It’s important to start strong so you don’t lose heart.

Get ready for late nights, because you’ll have a few. It’s not their fault at all; that's just how it is when you work with an Indian firm.

We were looking for a developer who could help us test the SDK, implement the SDK into apps, and provide feedback on how to make the SDK better for other developers and users.

We found them on Google Play. We saw that they had a number apps which would be a good fit for our SDK. The apps that we were looking at, which I think were a mixture of VR [virtual reality] apps and more typical ones, had very good reviews and so we reached out to them. We learned more about them and it seemed like it would be a good fit. Their portfolio and the speed with which they responded gave us confidence to work with them. It was clear that they cared about our project and they wanted to do it – you could sense their passion, for lack of a better word. We’re a team that needs to move very quickly and having developers that feel the same way is very important.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They have been mostly working on implementing and testing our SDK with pre-existing apps and providing feedback on it. They’ve implemented it in a couple of their different apps. We work out improvements to the SDK as we go from version to version with them.

What is the team dynamic?

They don’t provide us resources so much as they provide us the content we need. They give us feedback on the SDK and tell us the things they're going through and we do the same for them. We tell them about updates we make and they tell us what they think.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in March and we’re still working on the project together.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They've successfully been able to pass four or five versions of the SDK. There are a couple of iterations and things change with each version so that’s an important milestone for us. The SDK is in a private beta - so we reach out to developers we think will benefit from it. Anyone can ask to use it. That said we haven’t announced it publicly and don’t have much in the way of metrics. Hyperlink did have a part to play in making our developer materials better. They gave us feedback on the developer onboarding systems and how to make our setup guides easier to use and more in line with how developers such as them are using it.

How did Hyperlink perform from a project management standpoint?

I think their project management skills have been very strong. The communication has actually been great. A lot of the time it seems like we’re the team sending them a ton of [unorganized] messages in quick succession which is unfortunate. They usually get back to us extremely quickly and follow up if we haven't responded which is helpful. We have been working with them over email or video calls mostly.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I have to go back to the communication piece. It’s rare to find companies that are so on top of communication as much as Hyperlink.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of any in particular. They’ve done what we asked.

Do you have any recommendations for someone who would be considering hiring Hyperlink?

I don’t think this is specific to Hyperlink, but it’s more helpful having video calls to troubleshoot problems together. Otherwise, problems can take longer to resolve. Frequent video calls wasn’t the default arrangement we had with them, but they’ve been willing to accommodate us on that.
