Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the CEO and co-founder of LifeDNA, a fast-growing company based in Hawaii that helps people optimize their health using their genetics. We offer DNA-personalized health reports and products to consumers from all over the world. Our mission is to inspire people to unlock the power of their DNA so they can live healthier, more fulfilling lives.

For what projects/services did your company hire EMAPTA?

We were looking for research scientists and graphic designers who can help build our DNA reports and products. Emapta was able to provide us everything we need from hiring amazing talents for our organization to providing an excellent workspace for my team.

What were your goals for this project?

My primary goals were to be able to hire amazing talents as we grow more as a company and provide my team with everything they need for optimal work and productivity.

How did you select EMAPTA?

I had looked into several BPO companies that are located in Manila. I considered the safety and convenience of the location, the price of the services they offer, their amenities, and a lot more factors. I had to make sure that the one I chose would be able to provide me with a stress-free transaction and my team the best services possible.

Emapta's services for LifeDNA include human resource management, payroll, a designated office, employees' benefits, amenities for my team, technical support, provision of necessary tools and equipment, and a lot more.

What was the team composition?

Our team currently consists of 7 members. Emapta helped us find new research scientists and a graphic designer for our team.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Emapta has been able to deliver and meet our expectations. Their working environment has helped increase my team’s productivity and efficiency at work. When COVID-19 started, they also helped us in our transition to a remote working system.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Emapta has been attentive to our requests, addressing any concerns my team has. We are in constant communication with their Management and they always check in to see how the team is doing.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Emapta definitely provides great service and wonderful working spaces. If you are looking for an offshore company that you can rely on, Emapta is probably one of the best out there.

Are there any areas for improvement?

It's been great working with Emapta so far . I think the major point for improvement here would be to make sure that the attendance of my team is accurate, constantly updated, and correct, so as to avoid any issues in compensation and benefits.

I would also suggest that they find a better bank partner. My team has recently encountered technical issues with their existing bank provider.

My position is Medical Director for Priority Care Medical is a medical practice of family physicians providing quality health care for members of the community including general medical problems, preventive health care, travel medicine, occupational medicine, urgent treatment for non life threatening injuries and minor surgical procedures.

For what projects/services did your company hire EMAPTA, and what were your goals?

Our business was looking to reduce the development costs (particularly in marketing development, staffing, bookkeeping and administration) associated with the new project without compromising on the quality of the advice or on the development.

Our team assessed a number of options for assistance in the project development. EMAPTA was selected as one of the options considered and after a careful assessment process was selected as the best fit for our project.

How did you select EMAPTA and what were the deciding factors?

The EMAPTA consultant was instantly able to understand the challenges and opportunities presented with our new project. He was approachable and answered our follow up enquiries in a timely fashion. In addition EMAPTA was price competitive to other companies considered. In short the EMAPTA team presented in a superior way to their competitors.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

Once the decision was made to engage EMAPTA they were quick to work with us to help design and refine our project. We held a number of key early meetings and they were integral in helping develop our project plan. They were helpful in assisting us to realign our milestones and project steps.

There were able to meet key deliverables that were asked of them in terms of marketing, administration and human resources. EMAPTA as an offshore company were able to use a variety of IT platforms well before the boom in videoconferencing that we have seen with ZOOM.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

A project manager and administrator from EMAPTA worked with our team in developing our clinic. EMAPTA engaged other members of their offshore team as consultants at various times for specific work. The EMAPTA team has a diverse group of employees which covered every eventuality which we had in our start up.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

When we opened the clinic we had zero patients. With the help of the EMAPTA marketing team our doctors were fully booked within 8 weeks of opening our doors and we were getting excellent reviews.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timelines.

We had weekly meetings in the beginning and during the start up phase with our project manager. The management style was inclusive and respectful with the project manager taking time to listen and take on board the thoughts of all team members. Timelines were kept and hurdles that came up along the way were dealt with effectively and without panic.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They really impressed me with their intent to completely understand our company and our challenges. An absolute pleasure to work with.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

We had some minor glitches with online patient appointments which they were able to fix quickly and effectively soon after opening.

How did you select EMAPTA?

I first read about the owner and founder of Emapta Tim Vorbach in an article many years ago in "the Advertiser" What stood out for me, was businesses were using offshoring to strengthen their business and add resources to improve their business which were simply not affordable in Australia.

From there contact was made, we went through a competitive process and cost benefit regarding offshoring our first staff member. Emapta came out on top, the position made sense for our business and we proceeded and have had an ongoing relationship with emapta ever since.

After 5 years we're still in love with Emapta and the honeymoon period of the relationship hasn't fizzled out, its become a huge part of our business organization and help us to strengthen our business and value add to our clients. We have expanded to a second office in St Francis Square now and our team are happy and more engaged than ever.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Very effective, before Microsoft teams and zoom we used Skype back then. A few calls, emails and we had our resources picked out ready for hire.

there's no such things as perfect and always room for improvement - but we have been very satisfied with Emapta and the team they have helped us assemble and manage over the years.
