We hired Sterling technolabs for developing an end to end SIP VOIP Softphone app for one of our clients. The main goal was to develop an app that can be used for calling, group calling, chatting etc. for internal communications. We also wanted them to store a transcript of each communication happening over the app.

I was referred to them by one of their customers who have been engaged with them for their inception. Sterling Technolabs has a track record of delivering what they promise and more. It was a starting point for us. I had multiple communication with their team before committing to the project, they didn’t just understand my requirements but played a great role in making the app more user friendly and enhanced in terms of features. I believe that their consulting approach was the main factor to provide them the project.

We wanted to have a VOIP Softphone application on both platforms- Android and iOS that has functionalities of calling such as dialling a number, saving contact numbers, voicemail, and a contact list. Along with this, the app should have the feature of call waiting, call forwarding. Users can send and receive voicemail within an application.

Sterling Technolabs understood the project in 2-3 meetings and they came up with a detailed analysis document. Once we approved the same, their team provided the quote. We were very impressed with the detailed documentation and awarded them the project. And they didn’t disappoint at all. We had meeting every alternate week where we were given the demonstration of developed features and asked for feedback.

Since we were having constant communication on a single platform, we were always aware about the progress made everyday. Sterling Technolabs helped us develop the application and get it published on Android and IOS both platforms. Later, we came up with some more features and they implemented the features in hassle-free way. We’re sure that we will be adding more features to our app in coming time and Sterling technolabs will be our first choice to implement them.

We dealt with 6-7 people in the whole project span. There were business consultant who helped us gather all information, Senior business analyst, Project Manager and 3-4 senior developers for web, android and ios. We also have access to their after-sales support team now for quick help.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Within 6 months we were able to launch the platform for our client’s employees and the app has been the major driver of our growth now as it helps to have seamless communication in the team. Most of the communications happen over the app and we don’t have to worry about any security issues. Our conversations are kept inside the organization only and it’s been an amazing way to achieve the same. Also, the apps which Sterling Technolabs delivered, are quite stable in terms of code and have great UI/UX. We couldn’t ask them for more.

The whole project took almost 6 months and we were communicating through a single platform. Whatever we wanted to convey, we put in the platform and their team took care of that. It was as simple as dropping a text to a friend. Their project manager helped us track every aspect of the project and we were updated on the progress through the platform itself.

Sterling Technolabs' team was made of smart people who understood our requirements and fulfilled their promises. They deliver on time. The best part about their team is that they’re know-it-all. They know how things work and have an ability to capitalize on that. And this ability really helps in project implementation.

I don’t think so. It seems they have everything figured out at their end. I just wish that they keep this spirit up and replicate the same with each and every customer they deal with. I wish them the best.

There are around 17 sellers on the platform. Our goal was for the customers to see the sellers through the website. Sterling Technolabs did the changing of one seller to another. The customer sees the reality of the seller.

They are now providing maintenance for one year.

The only difficulty we’ve had with communication is they don’t work on Saturday or Sunday. We are off on Friday and Saturday, so if we have any issues on Friday, we can’t get reach Sterling until Monday. We communicate via WhatsApp, and they reply quickly.

They work as a team and have good knowledge of building websites, as well as building them in a way that makes future app construction easy.

Our website was built by an Indian company, but it was a mess. Instead of 10 weeks, it took one and a half years, and it didn’t work correctly in the end.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Sterling Technolabs worked with us to fix the site, modify the design, and get it up and running. The site allowed students to choose passages of people speaking. Students can listen to those passages, and there are several exercises and study aids to help them improve their listening comprehension of English.

The team strictly did development work using Laravel. The design and look of the site were based on our brand and brand book, so they worked within the design framework we gave them. They also worked within the flow of how we wanted the site to work.

We worked with the project manager; he took care of allocating the work to the right people. Later on, we decided to do some marketing, so they provided access to other company members to come up with a marketing strategy.

They built what we asked, and it worked. In general, they did good quality control — if there were any issues, they addressed all of them. We tested everything thoroughly, and they did an excellent job.

Although the project wasn’t complex, the project management was good. They did everything on time. Occasionally, things didn’t happen how we’d expect them, but they provided reasonable explanations. For example, we worked through the COVID-19 pandemic, which caused all sorts of inconveniences. Nonetheless, we were able to work through them all.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They did a good job at a fair price, and we were very comfortable working with them. Having spent a lot of time in project management and working with other well-known companies in the tech field, we were pleased that we didn’t have any mess-ups with Sterling Technolabs. Everything worked well and efficiently.

We are an honest company with a sincere mission. We, Lars and Prarthana, started Dzukou with a vision to minimize plastic usage in our daily lives. With our landfills and oceans rapidly getting contaminated with plastics, there is an urgent need to switch to cleaner eco-materials. At Dzukou, we want to give you that natural and organic experience.

The name Dzukou is derived from the beautiful Dzukou Valley in North-East India. Dzukou is a high altitude valley in the Himalayan state of Nagaland. When a group of Naga People were looking for a suitable place to inhabit, a young scout was sent. He found the valley, but it was too cold, uninhabitable and nothing edible grew. Sterling Technolabs did some work on our old webshop and we were very pleased with the results and the clear communication, so we decided to outsource the development of a complete new webshop to them.

We started from a template which on which we made a full custom design using illustrator and photoshop. We outlined all our wishes in terms of design, multilingual and multicurrency shop.
