Scope of Work / Deliverables The project focused on the design and implementation of a cloud-hosted Laboratory Information System (LIS) to replace our legacy on-premise program. The goal was to provide a modern platform that delivered both speed and efficiency for end users, while supporting scalable growth across multiple markets. Key deliverables included: 1.Cloud Hosting & Performance Improvements Migrated the LIS to a secure, cloud-based environment.Optimized performance to ensure faster response times and greater system reliability compared to the prior solution. 2. Workflow Efficiency Enhancements Designed and implemented streamlined workflows within the LIS to improve laboratory operations.Introduced automation and decision-support features to reduce manual steps and increase staff efficiency. 3. Multi-Tenancy Architecture Built the system to support multi-tenancy, allowing multiple markets and client groups to operate within a single platform.Ensured data partitioning and security measures so that each market’s data remained segregated while sharing infrastructure. 4. Flexibility and Customization Developed a framework that could accommodate varying workflows, reporting requirements, and physician preferences across markets.Delivered configurable modules and templates that could be adapted without requiring major system overhauls. 5. Integration Readiness Ensured the LIS could integrate with existing and future healthcare systems (EMRs, billing, reporting tools) through standardized interfaces.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

System Performance - average system performance times improved from 15 seconds to 5 seconds.

Workflow Efficiency - Staff reported reduction in some manual processes.

Multi-Tenancy - Successfully onboarded multiple markets into a single LIS instance, each with its own workflows and reporting, without requiring separate environments.

User surveys indicated increased satisfaction with system speed and ease of use.

They maintained regular communication through status updates and working sessions, which helped keep us informed throughout the process.

While some items were delivered behind schedule, the team was transparent about the delays and communicated revised timelines promptly. In most cases, delays were related to the complexity of requirements or adjustments we requested mid-project. Importantly, they demonstrated flexibility and worked collaboratively to address these challenges without losing sight of the larger project goals.

They were highly responsive to our needs, incorporating feedback and workflow adjustments as they arose. This adaptability ensured that the final system aligned closely with our operational requirements, even if it required additional time.

Overall, although not every milestone was met exactly as planned, the combination of structured management, open communication, and responsiveness allowed the project to be delivered successfully.

We needed to redesign our laboratory information system (LIS) in a cloud-hosted environment.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Healthcare Integrations has redesigned our LIS to be cloud-based, user-friendly, reliable, and fast. The team has also integrated the system with our clients to provide fast, accurate, and reliable patient results. Currently, the team is providing maintenance services.

We’ve worked with 10–15 teammates from Healthcare Integrations.

How did you come to work with Healthcare Integrations?

Jack initially started with our organization. We found Healthcare Integrations through former colleagues. We chose them over other options because of their team’s commitment..

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from April 2023–April 2024.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve measured success by tracking improvements in turnaround time (TAT) for integrated results, user satisfaction, and better quality improvement monitoring. Regarding user satisfaction, we’ve received positive feedback via email surveys and verbal communication.

How did Healthcare Integrations perform from a project management standpoint?

Healthcare Integrations’s project management is good. We communicate via email, Slack, Zoom, and Google Meet.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Healthcare Integrations has a great team that’s always willing to help.

It would’ve been nice to have a better lead on the project at the start.
