It was presented as a free WordPress website with additional work done on the back end with plugins, analytics, and other enhancements to maximize future use. I was relieved to have other theme options available to choose from. They provide updates on the work they do and walk you through setting up the site.

I communicated mainly with Sven on a regular basis for direction and exchange of information needed to get the site up and running.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

As a content marketing professional, I was initally excited to be contacted by the Free Website Guys! While I’ve created websites myself, it was a relief to be able to outsource much of this activity at a deep discount! Managing time and resources as an entrepreneur is important to me and their help has been invaluable. Now, I can focus on building my business with a stronger online presence that tells my story to my target audience. I did expect more work done on the front end but much of the content and specific design work has been left to me. This may not work for someone who is unfamiliar with creating websites.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

There was a lot of communication back and forth about what information was needed from us regarding our preferences. They also made recommendations to make sure I was happy with the end result.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They seemed to know that I had an online presence that lacked a website. I highly appreciate that they contacted me during COVID. It was insightful.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I had asked for a number of design elements on the front end that weren't carried out but since I've created websites before, those are minor in comparison to the analytics and plugin enhancements that were added. They also only have a certain amount of time they can dedicate to each project, so I've taken that into consideration. Again, anyone that is unfamiliar with creating websites may struggle with this. Overall, I received the design I was looking for and need to make small adjustments to finalize it. It was still free and thats a huge plus!!

I have no idea how to create a website. I've struggled with build your own sites and cookie cutter sites, but nothing really performed the way I needed it to, and it was all so expensive. I hoped to create an aesthetically pleasure e-commerce shop, that could still handle order and all of my products and other plugins.

They started off the process by going over everything step by step, they gave me an idea for a time frame, and everything that I would need to do on my end. I selected a theme and they began doing their thing. They then had me pick apart what I liked and didn't like about everything, this was very helpful in personalizing my web page.

My main point of contact was through the lead developer Sven. He was very polite and overall just a treat to work with.

After launching the site, I finally had something functional that I could be proud of. This has saved me time and avoided the need for extra steps when fulfilling orders!

The team gave me clear and accurate timelines, and met every one of them! They kept me up to date via email every step of the way. Work that might have taken weeks seemed to only take them a couple of days!

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They built a gorgeous and yet still functional e-commerce website, I find that e-commerce can be a tricky thing to get the hang of. The communication between us was also phenomenal, as someone who knows nothing about websites, I felt as if I was learning while still always having a helping hand.

I think that the website turned out stunning, it was more than I could have every asked for, and the ongoing support from Sven and the team is unmatched by any other site builders i've worked with.

I learned about them in a Facebook group. The cost was the main factor, but also their welcoming attitude from the very beginning made me feel comfortable working with them.

They recommended the best templates, installed very useful plugins, cleaned out the clutter that was slowing down my website and made all the design modification I required, even when they were slightly more complicated.

I was contacted by Catalina, who is on the Reviews Committee and who assigned my project to Sven. Sven is the Lead Developer. I also received explanatory videos from their colleague John. The videos were super useful and easy to follow.

I truly enjoyed working with The Free Website Guys. Their process was easy to follow, with very detailed instructions and prompt answers to all of my questions.

They knew exactly what to recommend based on my needs, and were able to make the exact changes I requested even if they weren't all that simple. They were also flexible and implemented some changes beyond design that will help protect my website and make it stand out.

We communicated by email and they helped me ensure that the messages weren't going to the junk folder. They followed up with me regularly, even if I hadn't replied for a few days.

Then, we got a specific step-by-step document - a detailed roadmap of the process from the beginning until the end. The team worked to create my website from the backend, uploading all the plugins and bits and pieces that they knew were important and necessary for a well run site. They kept me up to date every step of the way, letting me know what they had uploaded and what they were doing next. Anything that they needed my help with they provided me with very clear instructions and instruction videos.

Great experience from start to finish with The Free Website Guys! The process of building a new ecommerce website would have been overwhelming and daunting for me to do to say the least, so having Sven and his team build this site for me was welcomed and I'm glad I took a chance on them. 

I'm now able to focus on the content of my site and not the building of it! completely professional throughout and I would highly recommend these guys for building your site. Site not finished yet from my point of view as I still need to enter my content so no metric values to illustrate yet.
