We needed a fresh website to present to our clients that also connected to Kajabi for our courses. In addition, it had to have plenty of CTAs.

We were referred to The Free Website Guys by a colleague. The deciding factor was our interaction with them. They were responsive, smart and knew what they were doing.

Moreover, they build the shell of the site and you, as the client, build out the rest. We’re very hands on and loved this approach.

Sven, at The Free Website Guys, me-t us in the loop every step of the way. We had choices between free and Divi Wordpress themes (we chose Divi) and received video tutorials on every step of what they needed from us (license keys, logins to Bluehost, etc).

Each time they completed a deliverable (site setup, coming soon page active, etc), we got an email.

2-3 people vis the video tutorials but primarily we worked with Sven. He was our main POC.

They built our site in rapid time, it turned out exactly per our request and were happy.

Sven managed the project entirely vis email, which we liked. When they needed info from us, they sent clear instructions and accompanied them with video tutorials or Google doc instructions.

I’m the founder of a nonprofit mental health organization.

What challenge were you trying to address with The Free Website Guys?

We're recently established a nonprofit, and we needed a website for networking and getting people to join our cause.

What was the scope of their involvement?

I work with The Free Website Guys to develop a WordPress site for my nonprofit organization. They are organized and streamline every step of the process. Each day, they email me a private YouTube video made by them with steps that I have to do; all the complex steps are watered down and easy for me to understand and execute. Then, they follow it up with their portion of the development. 

They give me a handful of options to define the style, colors, and theme of the website. They email me photos of different themes and colors that I can choose. Not only that, but they also allow me to modify the tags and pages, so there's a place for home donations and volunteers. They also install and set up Google Analytics and collection of data so that our website grows through time, and gets good traction. The whole process is fairly simple, and we got the website up and running in two weeks.

I was referred to them by one of my clients who mentioned that there was an organization that made free websites. After looking into them, I emailed them an application form about my organization. Then, they review it among the other hundreds of applications that they receive, and I was selected as one of the organizations for a free website.

How much have you invested with them?

They made the website 100% free — I didn't have to pay for any of their labor.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started the project near the end of March 2021, and it took two weeks to finish. In case I have any consulting doubts, I can contact them.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The website isn't up yet, since I still have some information to upload. However, I share it with the board of directors, and they love the idea and how the website is laid out. I probably saved over a thousand dollars because they made a really elegant WordPress website that's easy to navigate, and I'm very grateful for that.

How did The Free Website Guys perform from a project management standpoint?

All the communication is done through email. They email me the stuff they need to get done, and all the steps contain images for clarity since some steps are a little confusing. In every email, they always ask if I have any questions, but everything is clear. I know that if I reach out to them, it would take a few days to get back to me, and that would interrupt the process which would make the project take longer.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m impressed with how neatly organized they are and the fact that everything has a flow. I didn’t have any mishaps, nor we have any miscommunication. Everything has step-by-step instructions that aren’t too complicated.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can't think of anything because all the information is provided. The only thing that they didn't mention is how can I collaborate with them in the future or if they offer other services.

Any advice for potential customers?

With anything that involves technology and websites, you need to have patience. They have a plan for the project and a timeframe, so you have to stick up with it in order to get the best out of the collaboration.

We communicated everything via email. They walked me through each step of what they were doing in WordPress, even when I had no idea what they were talking about. They included video explanations of how to do things they needed me to do on my end, which were really helpful.

they were very good at communicating any updates to he work progress, and also were very accommodating when delays at our end put the project back, they were very professional when reminding us that we had not submitted something or needed to complete more work.

No. The service was excellent. The only issue was that it could have been quicker, but those delays were largely our fault.

The basic idea for the site was to utilize the homepage as a portal to the various professional and vocational offerings I work with. The remainder of the pages would go into detail for each offering, including a blog.

The project went smoothly. There were a couple of hiccups with my availability and minor miscommunications, but each of these was met easily. Even after their part was essentially finished they continued to be a support and answer my questions patiently and effectively.

My experience with thefreewebsiteguys.com has been excellent from the beginning to the delivery, and beyond. Communication has been precise, kind and easily comprehensible, with a lot of patience for my particularites and a very loaded schedule just during the time we were making the site. They have not only met me with impeccable professionalism but also with a particular generosity and understanding. I felt heard, seen and supported through the entire process, resulting in a superbly made, functional and elegant site, which I now just have to fill in with my own content, publish and use.

My aeria of business is not easy to present on a website due to its many facets, and I am relatively demanding with high criteria for aesthetics and functionality, so having that said, I am very happy with the result and wholeheartedly stand by these guys.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I've particularly communicated with Sven from thefreewebsiteguys who turned out to be more than just a kind, professional website builder, but a light in the tunnel through a period of much movement and restrictions (across Europe through covid times). I am also not very 'tech" nor do I have the greatest equipment, but I know what I want, and all my needs have been met superbly. With his calm, ever-positive, generous, "we'll solve it" attitude, resulting in an excellent product, he really served as a beacon of hope and light for me in this time.

I am very satisfied with the entire team and I recommend this company to anyone who wants a high quality, great looking and functioning contemporary website. Don't hesitate, take their offer! It's a great business model and they do a fabulous job.
