Citrusbug Technolabs was brought in to design and implement AI models tailored to our organizational needs. The scope of work included building algorithms capable of analyzing healthcare financing data, identifying trends in staffing and resource allocation, and offering predictive insights to aid in negotiations with insurers and government bodies. They also developed a dashboard that gave our teams a more intuitive way to access these insights, making it possible to present information in a clear, actionable format to our members.

In addition to the core AI development, Citrusbug worked closely with us to understand the nuances of our three main business areas. For example, they provided tools that could assist GB 1 in workforce planning, supported GB 2 with training fund analysis, and enhanced GB 3’s ability to prepare data-driven reports for budget negotiations. Their deliverables were not just technical outputs but practical tools that our staff could immediately integrate into their workflows.

   1- Missed Deadlines:

The project was delayed by six weeks beyond the originally agreed-upon timeline.

   2- Overbilling and Budget Overruns:

Despite the project exceeding the budget, there were no substantial deliverables to justify the extra charges, leaving us with an incomplete and non-functional project, a situation that needs immediate rectification.:

   3- Poor Project Management:

Project management tools were minimal, and clear documentation of progress or roadblocks was needed, making it difficult to track the work being done.

   4- Low-Quality Deliverables:

As the initial project requirements outlined, the frontend development contained multiple bugs and needed to be optimized for mobile or cross-browser functionality.

Poor Project Management:

The use of project management tools was minimal, and there was no clear documentation of progress or roadblocks, making it difficult to track the work being done.

My experience with the company was far from impressive, and I would strongly advise caution when dealing with them. One key individual, Ishan, based on my experience, cannot be trusted. I would recommend staying away from this company.

It’s important to note that many of their 5-star reviews on Upwork are for small projects, which do not reflect their ability to handle larger, more complex tasks effectively.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Citrusbug Technolabs could have done differently?

Citrusbug Technolabs needs to improve their transparency and follow-through. They will tell you everything you want to hear during the initial discussions but fail to deliver on what was agreed upon. Better communication, honest project management, and delivering what was promised should be their top priorities for improvement.

The vendor responded on October 17, 2024.

Initially, the client was optimistic about our partnership. However, recent changes, particularly with the new project manager, have led to misunderstandings about project progress and deliverables. Claims about missed deadlines and overbilling appear to stem from shifts in client priorities rather than our execution.

The project began under a time and material model, but at the client’s request, we agreed to switch to a fixed-price model after just 1 month. This significant change was made to demonstrate our commitment to meeting the client's expectations.

Throughout the project, we maintained regular communication via Upwork, sharing daily and weekly updates, as well as conducting weekly demo calls to showcase our progress. The client has been consistently informed about the work completed.

Despite our dedication and efforts to exceed expectations, the client has chosen to discontinue our collaboration and requested a refund for the work delivered. We refused to refund the amount as we have delivered more than the decided project scope. Hence, the client has provided poor feedback with the motive to damage our reputation and affect our business.
