I approached Zenkoders with an idea I’d had for a few years, based on my own experience working in the superyacht industry. I wanted to create an app that would make laundry and garment management much easier and more organised, replacing the paper-based systems that are still commonly used onboard. Zenkoders were responsible for bringing my idea to life, designing and developing Launderella for both iOS and Android. The project involved creating a garment tracking system where users can upload photos, record garment details and monitor laundry progress, alongside features for managing guests, crew, room assignments and individual preferences. They also developed dashboards to help teams keep track of laundry, along with luggage inventories, activity logs, handover features and shared workspaces. Another important part of the project was setting up user accounts and subscription functionality so the app could operate as a business. Alongside the app development, they were also responsible for creating a professional landing page and providing three months of maintenance and technical support. For me, it was really important that the app was simple to navigate and practical for people working in busy environments. I also wanted the design to feel professional and reflect the luxury industry, while making sure the platform could eventually expand into private estates, villas and hotels. Throughout the process, I’ve worked closely with the project manager and development team, explaining my ideas, reviewing progress and providing feedback based on my own industry experience. The overall goal was to turn an idea I’d had for years into a real, functioning product that could genuinely make everyday operations easier for teams.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The biggest outcome for me has been seeing an idea I’d had for years turn into a real, functioning mobile application for both iOS and Android. We progressed from the initial planning and design stages through to having a working version of Launderella available on TestFlight for people within the superyacht industry to try out and provide feedback. I’ve already been able to share the app with people working in the industry, and the initial response has been really positive. Several people have commented on how easy it is to navigate and how useful something like this would be onboard, which has been encouraging and has helped validate the original idea. Another important achievement has been developing the main features needed to manage laundry digitally, alongside the user accounts and workspace functionality required for a subscription-based business. The project is still in the testing and refinement stages, so I haven’t yet got measurable results in terms of paying customers or revenue. However, reaching the testing stage, having a functioning product and receiving positive feedback from potential users have all been significant milestones. Overall, I’m really pleased to have reached this stage and to be much closer to launching Launderella as a business.

Overall, I’ve been really happy with the project management throughout the process. I’ve mainly been communicating with Anthony and Muhammad, who have both been very patient, approachable and easy to work with. As someone with no previous experience in app development, I’ve naturally had a lot of questions, and they’ve always taken the time to explain things clearly and help me understand the process. Communication has been really good, and I’ve been kept updated on the progress of the project. Everything has progressed within the expected timeframe, and any adjustments to the schedule have mainly been down to additional changes or ideas I’ve requested along the way. Whenever I’ve raised concerns, requested changes or provided feedback, they’ve always been receptive and willing to discuss the best way forward. I’ve also appreciated their honesty when explaining what’s achievable and what might require additional work.They’ve always been happy to listen to my ideas and work with me to find solutions. Overall, I’ve felt really supported throughout the project and have appreciated their patience, communication and commitment to bringing my idea to life.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

What I’ve found most impressive is definitely their communication style and patience throughout the whole process. As someone with no previous experience in app development, I’ve had a lot of questions and they’ve always made me feel comfortable asking them, no matter how small. I’ve particularly appreciated how understanding Anthony and Muhammad have been when I’ve raised concerns or realised that certain features needed changing. There have been occasions where I’ve requested changes outside the original scope, but rather than dismissing my concerns, they’ve taken the time to listen and understand why those changes were important from a customer’s perspective. Having worked in the industry myself, I’ve been quite particular about how certain features need to function, and I’ve really appreciated that they’ve respected my knowledge of the industry and taken my feedback seriously. Their patience, honesty and willingness to work with me to get things right have made what could have been quite an overwhelming process feel much more manageable. I’ve genuinely felt that they care about delivering a product I’m happy with, rather than simply completing the project.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Zenkoders could have done differently?

I genuinely can’t think of anything significant that I would change about my experience with Zenkoders. Anthony and Muhammad have been amazing throughout the whole process, and I really couldn’t have asked for more patience, understanding or support. As someone completely new to app development, I was naturally unsure of certain things, but they’ve made the whole experience so much easier than I expected. Even when I’ve come back with additional requests or changes, they’ve always been understanding and willing to work through them with me. I’ve felt really well supported throughout the project, and I’m genuinely grateful for how they’ve handled everything. I’m really pleased I chose to work with Zenkoders and would love to continue working with them as Launderella grows and develops in the future

We just launched the website a few days ago, so we don’t have measurable outcomes yet. However, the website’s performance is at least as stable and good as before. Moreover, my interface as the owner is way better than before with WordPress. Shopify gives a better overview and connects different ways of advertising to see the leads and compare the data.

All deliverables were completed as promised, and I was particularly impressed with how professionally and efficiently they handled my change requests. Overall, they exceeded my expectations, and I would gladly work with them again.
